Bandwidth:

You are free to download and use any images found on this site, but DO NOT LINK DIRECTLY TO THEM. Bandwidth theft is bad.

Downloading Desktops:

Click on your screen resolution size beneath the desktop design of your choice. The desktop will open in a new window. Install as follows:

PC USERS:
Right-click on the image and choose "Set As Background" or "Set As Wallpaper"

MAC OS X USERS:
1. Control-click and select "Save Image As..."
2. Save the image to your desktop
3. Go to Apple menu > System Preferences and select "Desktop & Screensaver"
4. In the menu at left, select "Choose Folder..." and locate and select the image on your desktop

MAC OS 9 USERS:
1. Control-click and select "Save Image As..." or "Download Image to Disk"
2. Save the image to your desktop
3. Go to Apple menu > Control Panel and select "Appearance"
4. Select the "Desktop" tab and select the "Place Picture..." button
5. Locate the image you just downloaded on your desktop and click "Set Desktop"



Using icons in IM software: Download the AIM or MSN icons you would like to use. Go to the Options/Preferences section of your instant messaging software and follow the instructions given there.

Yahoo Messenger icons may be available in the future, if there is a demand for them.

Blog or Website Linkage: If using a Banner or Button to use on your blog or website, please link to "http://www.hamstertime.net", not to a specific sub-forum such as the Recap or General Discussion threads.

To insert an image link into your blog or website, first upload your selected image to your server or an image hosting site like PhotoBucket. Next, go to the template for your blog or site and enter the following code where you wish your link to appear:


Using .icos in Windows:

.ico files are images that Windows users can swap out to represent shortcuts on their desktops. To use the HT .icos, first go to the .icos page and download the .zip file containing the .ico files.

Once you have unzipped the folder on your computer, create a shortcut on your desktop that you would like to use a HT .ico for – it could be a direct link to HT, a link to a folder on your computer where you keep your screencaps or any other site, folder or program you wish. Right click on the shortcut and select "Properties." Select "Change Icon" and locate the .icos on your computer. Pick the one you want to use and follow the instructions.
