Her video on the CBS website was really nice, I thought. She didn't go over the top, she knew what she wanted to say, and she said it. I have the biggest crush on her.

I just watched that, too, and she came off very endearing and sweet. I would have voted for her even if her head was doing 360s and she was covered with boils, but it was nice to see that her video plea was genuine.

I am definitely voting for Janey. She seems so sincere in her video, but we all know that she can be a crazy, drunken, venom spewing bitch as well. That is a fabulous combination. My mom was recapping last year, and she found that Janelle said far more vile shit than Ivette or Maggie ever did, and that she and Howie would shout at people in the middle of the night to get them pissy the next morning (this was after I quit). And yet, she gets the favourable editing because she's allegedly "pretty"? Like I said, no more plastic bitchface.

I could also bring up the fact that Quasar tended to get in women's faces (and only women's) when they didn't agree with him, but that's OT, so I won't bother. ;) Suffice to say, that's why I'm not voting for Janelle, Quasar, or Howie.

If all Janie had was being pretty, I'd agree with you, but she was something else. I never saw a player who could spit bile, smile wickedly, and be so much fun while telling the truth most of the time. She could win comps, she's intelligent, she was always worth watching. I could give a fig whether or not she was pretty, but it doesn't hurt her any that she is. As far as being vile to the freakshow nerd herd, I never saw a group of people on a reality show who more deserved it than that group. They weren't good disgusting, the Maggie/Cappy cult was just disgusting. Nobody was more surprised to love Janie than me. I don't think Janie made it as far as she did because she was pretty, she was damn good.

One of my favorites, I hated her when I watched last season, but now I'm happy she's one of the 20 candidates for BBAS, let's hope she gets to be in the house!

I'm not too worried about Janelle disappointing us, compared to possible disappointment from some others.

Janelle didn't pursue a strategy of deception or subterfuge the first time. She got ahead by being loyal and supportive of her allies, driving her enemies to distraction, doing some pretty good strategic thinking, and getting some timely challenge victories. All that just came out of her personality. She was never really acting, except in a few cases just to amuse herself, or to try to ingratiate herself to someone like with April toward the end. If she just stays herself, we should see more of the same.

I think the real danger of people acting differently from what we expect comes from people like Will or Danielle, who persued strategies that involved a fair amount of deception and acting. They will have to modify their strategies or come up with new ones, and they may fall flat.

If a player was basically the same person in the house and in the diary room, like I think Janelle was, they should be more or less the same person this time around. If they acted one way in the house and then showed us a different face in the diary room the first time, their "true" selves are know common knowledge, and what we liked about them the first time isn't going to work this time. If they don't come up with something different that is just as good, we might be disappointed.

You mean that you're afraid she's going to go all Stephenie on us. Yeah, I could definitely see her or Kaysar becoming cocky because they think they're the beloved favorites... if they don't watch out.


Will and Danielle will have the two biggest targets on their backs from day one. Will might be able to weasel out of it for a while; Danielle probably will not unless she gets a good alliance that will protect her.

All of these reasons are why I think the winner is going to be someone unlikely. As much as my heart flutters at the thought of a Nakomis-Janelle final two, I think somebody who can fly under the radar as a non-threat is probably going to have the best advantage.

I still have a huge crush on Janie. I can not wait to see her back in the house. :)

Janelle makes my skin crawl. If Disney made another movie about bugs, I could see her as the slug; a pretty slug with long eyelashes, and coquettish charm, but still a slug.

Consequently, since I'm sure Janey will get in the house, all my other picks are based on how well I think they'll do against her. I'm voting for Danielle, Allison and Marcellas for that reason.

This should be a fun season.

Didn't he go ga-ga over her on House Calls? Why do you think he'll be particularly against her now? My theory is he's one that will be looking to be an audience favorite, and I don't think he'll want to look bad by turning nasty on the #1 audience favorite.

Ah, Anne X, I've had it mixed up then. I don't watch House Calls but I thought I had heard that Marcellas didn't like her. Hmmm, faulty memory strikes again. Another reason was that I remembered that he hadn't liked the tacky blonde from his season -- was it Tonya? Now I'm hoist by my own petard! (Should be fun either way!)

I don't really see Janelle hooking up with Marcellas in an alliance. I know that Danielle is a big fan of Janelle's alliance and that Dani gets along really well with Kaysar and Janelle.

Marcellus is for sure gonna be gunning for Dani,and I don't see Janey wanting to be a part of it.

Ok. I was reading the live feed posts and I really don't get why the witchy women are always hating on Janey. Last season, it was The Fiendship, this season it's Ali and Diane. I was just reading where Diane and Ali were complaining that she's fake and has rugburns on her back "so she must have gotten some". First off, what's wrong with having extensions? Thousands of women have them. Also, after the way Diane slurped all over Drew-who then kicked her to the curb-I don't think she has any business talking about Janie getting some before she came in the house. And really, what's wrong with "getting some"? Good for Janelle!

I am so disappointed in Janelle's play that I'm not even sure I can properly express it. She's not working people, she's not moving outside the circle of friends she thinks will protect her, she's not thinking over this Jase situation, she's isolating herself to the point where the other HG's are making jokes about it ("Janelle's out for her 10 minutes per day."). I think she's just depressed right now because she feels like everyone's after her, and I think she's annoyed that she was doomed to be a huge target from day 1, but that her ready-made alliance makes her the absolute #1 target in the house. I sense that she thinks it sucks that she's stuck in the same game she was last year, and I agree, it totally sucks. But dude, wake up and do something then! The dumb act with Will was amusing and I don't blame her for not wanting to give him a chance to brainwash her, but dude, go to him and offer him and Boogie safety, suck up to Alison and Diane, tell Howie to STFU, sit down and actually grill Jase about a S5 alliance, get Marcellus and Erika back in line, pull Danielle aside and tell her she needs to say whatever possible to stay, even if she has to lie and promise to come after Janelle and James, just mingle more in general...ANYTHING.

I see your point, but I'm seeing Janelle a but differently...I think with SO many people still in the house and so much going on....she's reserving her strength and energy (mental and physical) for the long haul. She doesn't want to show her cards until she has to...which means, she's waiting to see who gets the boot and who is eligible to compete for HOH, etc.

Yeah, and there is a part of me that wants to cut her some slack. Especially in that several of her most obvious bonding attempts have resulted in 1) Danielle masterminding her possible ouster 2) Jase double-crossing her (though she remains clueless)...and masterminding her possible ouster 3) Nakomis calling her fake and trying to mastermind her possible ouster and 4) Boogie....again planning her possible ouster, maybe sticking to herself isn't such a bad idea.

I just wish I had a sense that she was more aware of what was going on around her, that she was a bit more suspicious.

Oh I totally disagree with you on that last statment mheh. Everyone already knows Janey is the target in the house, so why should she put herself at a disadvantage just to make herself not look like a target? They're going to know what she's doing anyway, and it will just incense them to know that she's patronizing them. I think Janey should continue to play hardcore and kick ass along the way.
