Erika Landin

Erika, we'll do Pilates with you. Maybe.
Ubershauna
she seemed like a pretty good person and she's hot, so I can see the producers putting her in the house. But I would much rather see a true house full of really hard-core players. Erika was too nice to be cut-throat evil.
lifeonhold
I liked Erika and thought she was interesting due to her unfortunate relationship with Robert. Talk about public humiliation!

On the other hand, she wasn't a strong player and I don't know who in the world she could align with in the All Star house.

ETA: Howie would go for her, although she's out of his demographic. So perhaps she could be Rachael this time around.
MrsGryn
The player I'd most like to be my best friend (free Pilates lessons!).

I just can't see her in the house. My vote is to precious.
And anyways, if your one regret is that you lost a competition, then that is not reason enough to get back in.
strawberry truck
I don't think she'll get voted in and I don't think the producers will pick her. I'm still thanking all the gods that Snotbert is not in the running.
berf
My girl. Although she lost points for ever having hooked up with Snotbert. If only Jack could come back, too. *sigh*

One must also remember that it was Erika who gave Dana the Mantroll nickname. I loved her relationship with Jack and respect him greatly. But gawd please, he has to do something about that horrid combover.

I think she looks better pre surgery

Because I obviously didn't watch the show that closely .. um .. what's she had "done"??? Seriously. I must not have been paying attention.

I'm voting for her. If for no other reason I need to see some tits and ass during down time...

She's had a nosejob, looks like botox into the upper cheeks, and that annoying perma skinny eyebrow thing. She's still beautiful but was just naturally beautiful before.

Team up with the BB6 people and hope they don't notice she's not Rachel?

I don't see her making the cast. I did like her, but there are far more dynamic characters that could be cast, and she won't make it in as a villain.

I do think, though, that her fan base came from the fact that her cast was dull and mostly unlikeable, and she shone by comparison. She and Jack were fun together, though I'd rather have him than her on this season.

Pretty much. Or David.
Aplomb
I feel bad for her because I think she got thrown far more by the exes thing than anyone else. After the initial shock, everyone else pretty much got over it or even took advantage of having their ex there. With Erika, it seems Robert's presence really repressed her ability to have fun without being self conscious. They seemed to end up ok with each other by the end, but she spent far more time struggling with it than anyone else.

I don't think she's going back in, but if she does, I think she is probably the most likely to be a "new and improved" version of what we saw before, more fun and social. I hope she makes it, actually. She could be the relatively calm and levelheaded member of an alliance made up of more outgoing and volitile personalities, not so much the leader but the anchor that keeps them from flying in different directions.

Does anybody know if she is still with Josh from BB1. They seemed to be the "it" reality couple for a while. Josh is one of the major "players" over at the Fishbowl and was a producer on the trainwreck that was The Scorned. I'm just surprised that she is on the list but not him. You know how much we love couples in the BB house!

I believe it's been out there that they broke up not too long ago.

Have to agree with you here....she was so beautiful naturally. I will never understand why people think having a surgery to make your skin look like it was a piece of wet leather, stretched between two wooden poles, and left in the sun to dry makes them beautiful.

But she is still a HOTTIE to me.... I LOVE her smile.

Erika's doing a great job playing both sides. Chilltown and "Team America" [not sure of their actual current name] both seem to think she's firmly on their side. It'll be interested to see what side she's actually playing for, or if she's gonna be a swinger. Does anyone know?

I forget: was BB1 Josh ever mentioned during BB4? Erika mentioned on Sunday's (Jul16) show that they've been dating for 5 years. If my math is correct, that means during BB4.

I think she alluded during BB4 to the fact that she was dating a reality show "star", but I don't recall her ever specifically mentioning him by name. It was fairly common knowledge amongst fans that she was his girlfriend during her time in the house, though, because there were photos on the 'net of the two of them together before she was announced as a hamster.

Ok kiddies, time for a history lesson. Josh BB1, aka Sloshie, was hit on by the stripper (whose name escapes me) and Brittany, aka the Cuddle Slut, aka the virgin, aka the first hamster to dye her hair rainbow colors. Sloshie didn't respond to either romantically causing widespread speculation on the old boards that he was gay. This was further borne out by his drunken striptease for the remaining two houseguests. Two men. I had the (free) feeds that year and watched said striptease and there was a lotta teasin'. Boyfriend was into it.

Is Josh gay? Who knows? Just reporting the facts.
bttrcup
And to add to elizabethann's history lesson, after BB1 ended photos of Josh playing at the beach with a pretty girl surfaced - clearly shot for his modeling portfolio - but some people jumped on them as proof that he was not gay. They mistook them for snapshots, I guess, and jumped to conclusions.

But the interesting part of that story is that two or three years later those same photos resurfaced - because BB4 was starting, and Erika was the pretty girl in said photos.
Alise
I certainly hope she's gone soon.

What a wishy washy player. Add the fact that outside the house she's got something going on with Boogie (who finds it so easy to call women 'c*nts and whores), I hope her exit from the house is fast.
Just Kimmie
She has got the WORST taste in men!!! Her self-esteem must be virtually NIL to even consider the guys she's been with.

To each their own, I know, but I have to say it's hysterical seeing people saying that Erika is NOT gonna get steamrolled when it's her time. If she was worth anything to the "Win Everything" strategy, her ass would be out the door. They seriously think they are gonna win everything, and they are right for as long as Booger or Will is in that house yukking it up. Once those two are gone (next 2, as predicted), Erika and Marc better be very careful. Dani and Diane are likely gone after that, and won't be able to save themselves.

I just think that it's basically Sov worship to say that Erika even has a chance. She doesn't. The reason she doesn't is the reason the Sovs at least selected their evictions well.

No question about it regarding Erika first and Marci second. If either gets HOH they'll wimp out and dump Dani, CG or.. what's that other girl's name? The carhouse girl?

Much as I like S6, I am really enjoying your posts Quickpick. In a sense I'm waiting for S6 to turn on itself. At least for now we can figure when that comes James is the first target, possibly even before Marci. Of course, there is always the possibility Howie will go BUSTO at the wrong time too and ring an alarm bell to possible HoH's like ERhead, and Marsabsent.

Thanks for that. I get about 1 compliment to every 100 bashes, but basically you get used to it. It's kind of weird, like I'm playing a character, but nevertheless. Yes I enjoyed Janelle and Howie last year, and I was one of the ones that was a little annoyed at Kaysar coming back after he already got the second chance. I thought that was more "fanboydom" than anything, honestly. All fair told, James deserved it and Kaysar didn't.

Yes, S6 turning on itself with the James/Dani storyline is what I believe they're building to. I just think it will be rather boring, because I would have rather it been more artful a war for the first half of the year. If they're gonna play team sports, at least play a good game. Nobody wants to watch Duke beat up on Holy Cross in the preseason by 40 points -- funny enough that line was in one of my very first posts here, LOL, and it's only gained gravity as time goes along.

I just wanted to post about Erika because yes, she's ensuring her survival, but she really should have stood up in this competition along with Marcellas and the rest of the house. Their failure to do so was as expected as it was tragic, for the quality of the season.

Yeah it was okay to see Rupert, Jenna and Alicia get eaten up by Romber in Surivivor AllStars, but it was still anticlimactic too. I was still smarting over the fact that all of those relatively smart people would have allowed Romber to march through the game like that, being scared instead of standing up. I guess that's the theme of CBS All Star Reality Shows, LOL. Cockroach squashing to set up what CBS wants -- the Kaysar/Janelle wedding special, Amazing Race combo?

edit: Now that I think of it, who are the only ones that WANT to watch Duke beat up on Holy Cross? Hardcore Duke fans, LOL. I think that analogy is absolutely glove-fitting perfect. That glove fits, so you cannot acquit!

This makes no sense. I'm worshiping the Sovs because I think some people in the house - like Erika - haven't played their hands yet? What would it be if I called them all pansies and say the Sovs will rule the day?

No one can win with claims like this. I will admit that I like the S6ers, but my favorite is James (which I don't think you include in the Sovs) and I love Danielle. I think she's a good player and much like Will - if they don't get her out soon - they'll regret it later.

I was impressed with Erika the first week. She took out her biggest threat in the game (Allison) almost single-handed. She has befriended the S6ers while working with Mike. I hate her taste if she's into Mike but I'm not writing her off as a player just yet.

I will admit she could wimp out and play poorly at the pivotal moment, but if she makes mistakes - that isn't the same thing as getting steamrolled. Now I could be wrong - she could get pounded on later in the game, but I don't see her a weak.

Lots of talk about Will's ego, or at least that's the hype (his brother's lame testomonial notwithstanding), but I think Marcellas considers Janey to be the better player and that he's somehow in her league. No question to me that Janelle will be the major carrier of of s6.

Your assessment of Survivor All Stars is almost exactly how I felt.

While I loved Sandra for playing the "anybody but me" strategy on Survivor: PI, I hate Erika for it. But I never liked her in the first place so her just being such a wimp makes me hate her even more. Plus, she has lousy taste in men.
Highwaygirl
She's boring me this time, and that's a cardinal sin in BB. I do love how James totally has her number, though.
ZGeist
Personally, I think Erika was boring in 4, too. That's her game though. She isn't going to win on being a physical threat. She isn't going to win by being a strategist. Her strength is her socializing skills. I was trying to explain Erika to my wife the other day and I described as the perfect date/girlfriend for the guy who never wants to get married. My wife looked at me like I was crazy and said, "Isn't that more like Janey - the bombshell type". Then I explained it too her - it's not so much about looks with Ericka it's about the fact that she is entertaining, engaging, playfull, conversational, and most of all she is accomadating - highly accomadating. There isn't one man in the house, with the curious exception of Will who she either knows will not go for it or she doesn't like, who she doesn't go out of her way to accomadate in some way. Men respond to that - on an unconscious level if not consciously. She's helping Jase fix his hair up. She's helping KG figure out how to make oatmeal chips. She's constantly playing date night with Kaysar. She's taking a bubble bath with ::::shudder:::: Boogie and licking whipped cream off of him. She's playing Jedi with Howie. That's her game - to make everyone comfortable and slide along deep into the game. It's the only game she has - anything bold out of Erika would raise her profile too high and make other women dislike her or the men distrust her

If anyone can put her photos from her season, reality kills and this season on one recap, I would really appreciate it. For some reason, I am OCD about her transformation and am interested in seeing what changes have been made.

I read on another site a comment about how Eribka's broken rib sure seemed to miraculously heal just in time for her to almost win the web-hanging competition. Funny, I haven't heard any of the Hammies comment on this yet!

The thing that cracks me up (makes me hate) Scrubika is her getting all offended and horrified over Diane's eviction. And yet, she told Booger that if SHE won HoH, she'd "split the house" and put up Diane and Howie, and Howie would go.

I mean...how do you rationalize that?

I don't know, but I do know I am sick of THIS "All-Star". What a useless tit she is.
quickpick
Erika thinks that if James won HOH he would go after Chilltown. And she's as in on the rest of the house gang-banging S6 as anybody, so why would she say that? James has said to them openly he wants Janelle's head. Quite nastily in fact. So..... that's kind of interesting. Is she right?

Would he cop out and kill the real floaters, cut off Will's leg? Or why does Erika think that, then? Untwist it for me, LOL.
uaintjak
I don't think Scrubika has very carefully considered her position in the house.

Keeping James means there's a bad-ass competitor out there, who most definitely isn't on her side. James is loyal to Dani and (apparently) Kaysar and (maybe a little) Howie. I don't recall typing Scrubika's name there, so...

She at least has a relationship with Kaysar. I mean, yes, it went to shit once Dani got HoH, but that's mostly her fault. Dani, Scrubika, and Marcellass broke away from S6 when Diane went up. Now, I'm not faulting their reasoning, but wouldn't it have made sense to play the "I know why Diane was evicted, we're still friends" card? Even if she didn't believe it? Same with Marcellass.

Instead they got all freaky about it, when the smart thing to do would have been to keep cool.
elizabethann
I keep reading that Erika is taking credit for casting Aras in Survivor. Doesn't that officially make her an employee of CBS? Aren't there laws about stuff like this?

A possible scenario: Ericka gets nommed and actually stands a chance of getting evicted. BB makes sure the veto comp is one she's likely to win (ala Amy's pagent veto comp). Sounds like the very definition of conflict of interest to me.
quickpick
Just like the whole Maggie-Eric-Brother-CBS deal, somehow some money changed hands there, I'm sure there is some kind of Boogie-Erika-Sloshie-CBS type of situation going on. Booger is either in on it just for the showmance, or there's no Sloshie involved and these two are for real and shooting for the Romber CBS wedding special.
Cami
Erika is so banal. I can't bring myself to care what she's thinking. Her main strategy seems to be sucking the life out of every room or conversation she enters.

Marcellas is a CBS employee, too, though, for Housecalls.

Erika... see, I don't dislike her. I want to see her make a stand and not cower under the radar. I think she's the most dangerous floater, ultimately, because for all the kvetching S6 has made about the dreaded floaters, Erika's the worst of the bunch.

I think, more than anything, it's a testament to how charisma-free the cast of season 4 was that Erika was what kept me interested through the last month and a half of that season. (Well, I liked Jack. Sometimes I liked Jun, but not always. David didn't last long enough to count. Alison was vile. The rest bored me.)

Just paid a visit to the CBS BB website and decided to check out the Hamster's lists of faves. Under cereal, Erika listed OATMEAL and farina as her favorites. Now, I might be wrong here, but isn't the slop basically fortified oatmeal? Why won't she eat it then? Just an excuse to whine? Early onset anorexia?

It's one of those things one hopes Julie Chen will ask her about.
