I say he's on the list to make the viewers happy, but he's just not young and cute enough to make the cut. I'm old and fat myself - and I loved George on the show, but you know the producers want the hard-bodies on to wear tiny clothes and hook up with each other.

He's the pick for Vote For The Worst. I didn't watch BB1 so I have no opinions on him but I suspect his only way of getting in the house is VFTW.

I am one of the 7 people who watched season 1 (feeds were free, yo!) and I don't need to see this guy again. He tried FAR to hard to be the "wacky older guy" who put shit on his head for the live show and thought the shower was a spaceship.

Has anyone looked at the "Personal Appearances" page? Apparently, George is "hitting the streets in his chicken costume" in cities all across the country, every day from today until the 28th.
I don't think there's any way we can avoid seeing him in the house this summer, and that makes me want to poke my eyes out.

I watched season 1 and he went bat shit crazy at one point and tried to convince everyone that was still in the house if they revolted and quit, they would all win the money. It made no sense at the time but was pretty entertaining on the feeds. Of course, I don't remember much mention of it on the actual show.

I think he's in regardless as the lone representative from Season 1. And the sad part is, he's such a weak, non-threatening player that he'll be around for a long, long, long, time. No one is gonna want to waste an HoH week on him. He might just June his way through this whole thing.

They did show it on the show actually, even with the one of the producers piped in voices reading them the "riot act". That part of season one was actually pretty fascinating, and one of the few times in BB history where things seemed to be really "real", in the sense that it would be people's reaction in a situation where they had very little external stimuli. Fascinating from a psychological point of view, but I'm not sure it the long run that it makes for "entertainment".
Anyway, I think I will throw a few votes old George's way, just for old times sake. And maybe a few for Brittany, too! (In my mind, anyway...) I wonder if his wife will organize a huge voting bloc in their town? Ahh, old times...

I think the producers will choose him because they want someone from each season and he'll fill the "middle aged man" casting requirement. Personally, I would've preferred to see the FBI guy from season 4 (who was friends with Erika).

My opinion is he brought more of the pathetic. It makes me feel embarrased to watch him. Like someone who is trying to be a cool kid but just can't and never will be. I would prefer *almost* anyone to Chicken George (except Cowboy and Dana), but I've resigned myself to the fact that he's going to be there one way or other.

He brought the crazy, the weird and the pathetic. Also the slightly unhinged. In BB1 the houseguests nominated the evictees and the home audience voted to evict someone. George realized all four of the remaining houseguests had nominated him while he was chopping vegetables in the kitchen and he mashed the hell out of those veggies while the rest of them looked around at each other uncomfortably. Then Curtis started laughing and he had one of those donkey bray sort of laughs and everyone, including George, laughed and relaxed. It was a very weird moment.

George is one of those guys who thinks anything "wacky" -- wigs, bizarre costumes, odd voices, impromptu skits -- is per se funny and entertaining. And he feels it is his duty to entertain America constantly.
I can't think of a single time any of his stunts were funny or entertaining in the way he intended. Most of the time, it was embarrasing to watch. But a few times, it got so WTF? that you couldn't tear your eyes away and it was funny and entertaining, but totally at his expense. Try to find his carbonated shower spaceman "sketch" on Youtube or something for the classic example. I don't think he is actually insane, but sometimes he does raise questions.
So, he's not the kind of guy who is actually funny and you laugh with him. He's usually just pathetically trying too hard. But sometimes it gets so over the top that you just have to laugh at him.
Beyond all that, he is a genuinely nice guy.
I sort of want him on because I can't imagine him in an alliance against alliance situation. It will be fascinating to see him actually try to play the game and not just concentrate on being "wacky." I can't imagine he would be good at it, and I don't see him winning any competitions, which makes me think he might go fairly far -- everyone is going to have bigger fish to fry early on.

Welcome,
Daisylou! I thought the same thing also about George being back in - but it's possible people could go after the more famous, "skilled" players and he may be able to float along. Really depends on how he interacts with the group, I guess. Agreed about the first season live feeds - it was kind of Zen watching them, or like watching a lava lamp. The whole almost-revolt was kind of interesting, though.

I still remember watching S1 where viewers voted off contestants by using touch-tone phones. Yes, dearie it's true. I remember the folks in CG's hometown being shown in a boiler room (a room with lots of phones) voting against a woman HG in order to save CG. Maybe I dreamed this.
For the record, I'm 54 and it amuses me that some young folks (20 -30) say that CG "appeals to the 50+ demographic." You wait, you'll see - 50 ain't old. And just because your over 50 doesn't mean you think likw all other 50 year olds. And being over 50 does not cause Chicken George love. No it does not.

I watched season 1, too, and George's batshit crazy revolt was the best thing to happen the entire time, so I will give him that. The damn show was on 5 times a week, feeds were free and it was so BORING (yet I still watched- I am so BB's whore!). Only George's antics and InsaneKaren's meltdowns over her husband made it tolerable. He's a lock for a producer pick in my opinion, so I am not voting him in. I think it would be really interesting for him since the game was completely different the first season.

All he has to do is play dumb. It's to his advantage. If he does that, he could very well win this.

Yeah, the Chicken Man is incapable of playing this game. He's a slightly funnier, older version of Cowboy. The only thing he'll do is latch on to some alliance (whichever one will have him) and probably ride them until the final 4. I do feel sorry for him in that house because the majority of the allstars are very patronizing to him. He's already an outcast.
That being said, I have a bad feeling that either George or Erika are going to the final 2. Nobody is gonna waste votes on them.

Part of me wants to see how much it would fuck with the other hammies if George won HOH either this week or next. They've ignored him and/or made fun of him so far, I'd love to see them scramble and kiss his ass. And you know he'd have crazy-ass reasons for some people being safe. "Well, Howie's giving me Jedi training, so he's safe..."
Alas, I think it's only a dream. Unless it's a complete toss-up contest for HOH, he brings nothing to the competition table.

Stupid is as stupid does, and George does pretty bad. I remember his zany antics in BB1 and some of them were cruel and insensitive as well as dumb. Like the time he used catsup to decorate his T-shirt to make it look like he had been blasted by a shot-gun -- never gving a thought to how it might make the family of his best-friend feel. The best-friend that George had accidentally shot to death on a hunting trip the previous year.
Then there was the time George tried to get everyone to vote out Curtis because Curtis had asked George not to double-dip his Doritoes. It's that sort of random pettiness that makes George such a great wild card. I hope he sticks around; at least longer than Mike Boogie.

I watched the convo in the storage room between Dani and CG last night about his vote and she was about to kill him. I'd like to say "oh, Dani, bad game play...you should have kept your cool" but since I wanted to reach through my monitor and throttle him myself, I really couldn't blame her.
He told her earlier she had his vote, even shook on it, then backed out after talking to Ali. Fine, but then his reasoning to Danielle was so stupid. He said she gave him the impression she didn't know Kaysar outside the house and then he deduced with his big brain that she actually DOES know Kaysar outside the house. And that's why she's too shady, and he's justified in backing out of his earlier promise, per George.
Dani (honestly this time) responded with: I would never claim not to know any of these people outside of the house - I talk about going to all the wrap parties all the time. I know them all. But CG kept saying, well no - you led me to believe you didn't know Kaysar though he couldn't pinpoint when or how she led him to believe that. The thing that made it so infuriating about it was that he was so smug, like he'd really made some big revelation and is so smart not to be played by Danielle. That combination of stupid and smug is just, ugh.
He pissed off a lot of people with this crap - especially Danielle. She was so mad at him I don't think Marci has anything to worry about if she gets HOH.
swsa
Jul 12 2006, 09:23 AM
I was cracking up over that confrontation. I think Danielle figured out pretty quick that he was reveling in this new position of people needing something from him, and that he wasn't going to give that position away by setting her mind at ease. Which is why I'm going to love it if she stays. Especially because I think he may have even pissed her off badly enough that she'll actually go for HoH, when before I assumed she'd start throwing comps.
My ideal scenario would be everyone flipping their votes, except for George and maybe Will and Boogie. Seeing the smug draining from those faces would be priceless. And I say this as someone who adores Will, but still, I almost think he needs to be mildly bamboozled just to get his head in the game and away from his endless plugging.

Chicken George is not smarter than he looks. He may think he's playing dumb, but he's such a dim bulb it's not much of an act. BB1 was boring and I didn't watch much of it, but I don't think they had HoHs back then. I think the most that the houseguests contributed to the vote was they picked two people for "nominations" and then the people who got the most votes from their housemates were voted on by America for eviction. I may be wrong about some of those details but I know America voted for the evictee. There wasn't much conflict in the house if I recall correctly.
There was some amount of stink though when George's friends and family made marathon calls to evict the pink-haired girl because they felt she was his biggest competition or something like that.
