Hahaha! Good one.
I wonder how self-aware these people are with respect to the catch phrases we still throw around? Will they come into the house and play that up, becoming cariacatures of their former selves? Or will we see a "new" Monica, or a "new" Bunky?
Would Howie keep screaming for someone's DOR? Will Janelle rehash the "bye bye, bitches?"
I do hope Dr. Will addresses what became of Buttercup.

I'm embarrassed to admit this, but I'm sort of hoping for a Janelle/Dr. Will hook-up if when they're both in the house. The collective pretty will make my screen melt, and I think it would drive Kaysar insane and that could be fun.

Agreed. Especially if I hated them in the first place (e.g. Booger). Even with Dr. Will, I'm not entirely ready to forgive him of the whole plan to fake having leukemia. I'll still be bitching about that little gem in my recaps I'm sure.
And recalling his better moments, such as peeing on the bed during the HoH competition and diarrhea on the trampoline.

Same here,
MrsGryn.
In fact, the more they hang onto their previous season selves, such as being smug about being voted back in (Kaysar) or using favorite catch-phrases (Janelle - "Bye, bye, Bitches!) the more I'll be tempted to hate them this season. I want to see my favorites play a new game.
If Booger makes it into the house and he even mouths the word, "Belly" (or wears a sidesways cap, or raps, or wears rapper clothing) I don't know if I'll survive the flood of inner hate that's gonna erupt. ... Um, as I consider the possibilities, I think I'm doomed; just the sight of him will do this.

I HATE House relationships.
Evil Will was irritating with Shannon
Booger was phoning it in with Krista
Lisa was boring with Eric
Roddy was insincere with Chiwhora
David was sloppy with A___
Diana was pathetic with Drew
Jase was cornball with Holly
Scott was unusual with Michael
Janelle was just ewwww with Michael (due to Michael being so ewwww)
(Did I miss any?)
Some of these did have their moments, usually during the break-up phase, or the stab-in-the-back phase. Mostly they just sank into a black hole of couple-absorbness.
Better were the close but not quite sexual relationships in the house:
Nicole & Hardy
Amy & Marcellas
Kent & Bunky
Jack & Erika
Danielle & Jason & Lisa
Jun & food
Janelle & Kaysar
Janelle & Howie

I can only speculate on who I don't want in the house..
Magie, Howie, Jase, Hollow & Josh.
No Josh, No. No more mewwit. Nore more patterns in body hair.. no more trying to be one of the cool kids.
I can see pluses and minuses for each and every hamster.
I'd like to see Jack & Erika only cause they make morning recapping a bit more fun, but on the other hand they are pretty boring otherwise.
Monica would be a hoot and I would love her to get a second chance.
I'd love to see Jason, Roddy & Danielle back but only if i could have all 3.
I can do without Kayser if he will not learn how to keep his mouth shut.
I'd love to see how Jun would do a second time, but she was not the most exciting hamster in the cage.
I think David, would be fun to have back especially if Will got back in as well. Could you imagine the two of them together?? Add Nicole into the mix with these two and she will need to be medicated by the second week!
Diane would be fun to have back in the house with Drew, only to see if she would get used by him all over again.
It almost seems like A&A may have a few lists going, pairing up hamsters or creating threesomes.

I'm surprisingly good with most of these folks coming back in but for a few. No Alison, no CowTard, no Mike Boogie. All the rest of the people we've hated in the past, like Jase and Ivette, will be going in humbled by knowing that they are the underdogs here, they were not well liked by the public. There's a lot of "Two Hamsters, One Slot" going on with the potential houseguests:
Loud, Annoying-but-Occasionally-Funny guy: Howie/Jase
Hot, Tall Nice Girl - Lisa/Erica
Repulsive Shrill Girl - Ivette/Dana
Wannabe Bitch On Wheels - Alison/Diane
Emotional Gay Guy - Bunky/Marcellas
Self-Elected Evil Mastermind - Will/James
Guy Who Sucks Beyond the Telling Of It - Booger/Cowboy
Intelligent, Stealthy Gameplayer - Kaysar/Danielle
I don't really have a category to shove George, Monica, Nakomis or Janelle into.
Aaaaand if I had to pick one from each of those categories, my choices would be:
Howie
Lisa
Ivette
Alison
Marcellas
Will

Kaysar

I was somewhat disappointed that David (former Army ranger, banged Amanda in HoH room) wasn't a finalist -- he was my favorite from BB4. I guess he didn't last long enough, or really showed enough good gameplay, to be memorable enough to be an All Star, but he was always entertaining.
I was also expecting Hardy from BB2. He was hypocritical and self-deluded, but he was an interesting player anyway. It would have been interesting to see him struggle for alpha male dominance against stronger players. I could easily see him set himself up as the "leader" of an alliance of smarter players just waiting to stab him in the back, which would have been amusing.
Of the ones we have, any mix will work for me as long as Boogie, Cowtard, Allison and Dana aren't in it. I'm not too thrilled with their kinda/sorta analogues (Jase, George, Diane and Ivette respectively) but they are the lesser of two evils and it would be OK if some of them got in.
I'll take one of Lisa or Erika for the relatively sane and quiet perspective, but not both, too boring.
I'd love to see Dr. Will, Howie and Kayser get in, because I bet Will and Howie bond tightly and leave Kayser looking for other allies as Howie is drawn to the dark side. If that happens, it will be interesting to see what Janelle does, if she is in.
And I want It'sOnica just for the anarchy.

Mine too. And didn't he throw up afterwards? That was funny.
The one thing that really worries me is that people from the same season will stick together. If we end up with a bunch of people from last season vs. one or two people from every other season, it could make for a boring and predictable summer. I kind of wish they were casting it that way, say 2 from each season, even though I'd have a hard time choosing between Janey, James and Howie, and I can't stand most of the people from 4 and 5. But maybe it would have been a little more balanced or something.

I see the alliance being split between BB6 Jedi vs. Everyone Else. Assuming they all make it in (and I think Howie, Janelle and Kaysar are locks, and James has a decent chance) and they can pick up one or two others (Lisa or Erika can be swapped in for Rachel because the three women are pretty much interchangeable, Nakomis seems like she'd gravitate towards this group, and Ivette would want in because it will help with her redemption story arc)... this could be where the split occurs.
Who I wished were options:
Amy (I know she and Marcellas are no longer friends, and I wanted her instead of him... because she's cool and he's lame and shallow)
Nicole (although I can't blame her refusing to go back in for mental health reasons... that meltdown was not pretty, although she was a tough player)
Jack (there aren't that many of these male cast members I really like, and he brought the funny)
Jun (she was a good player and frequently entertaining)
I am afraid this will work like All-Star Survivor did: the former winners, big threats, and popularity threats go first, and the under-the-radar crappy players sail to the end. Because out of this crew, Cowboy is most definitely the Amber, and remember that we didn't think she could win, either...
RogueScribner
Jun 23 2006, 04:31 AM
There will obviously be targets in the initial weeks, but when you think about it, most of the players will be considered "strong" and "popular" so one would really have to stand out among them to warrant their wrath. If Ivette or Cowboy make it in I think they're toast. Everyone else has a fair shot if they don't screw up early on. Except for Will and Lisa. I think they mere fact they've won before will give them automatic targets they'll never shake.
Why would CBS bring back a former winner anyway? It doesn't seem exactly fair, but then again, what about this game is?
uaintjak
Jun 23 2006, 08:55 AM
If the Jedi go in (regardless of whether it's just Kaysar, Janelle, and/or Howie, or if James is also in), I think they'll be high priority targets. I'm pretty sure Ivette would join them (I guess that would make her Jar-Jar Binks...a good guy, but one everyone hates. Jar-Jar Ivette?). With such a strong alliance right off the bat, they would be nominated left and right. Even if, say, Jekomifer wanted to join them, she'd be hurting her own chances by doing so (she'd be joining an alliance where she'd be at the bottom).
The only ones who would be bigger targets would be Will and Lisa, since they've already won, and even then it's sort of sketchy. They could always say "Look, we know we're targets, we're not going to win, there's no way, so get rid of these guys first. They're the real threat, not us."
Much as I love the Jedi, I'm not too thrilled about their odds, unless they can work an alliance with members from another season (maybe joining up with Jase, Diane, and Nakomis, as if those three would ever work together) or possibly (and this is an even bigger stretch), knowing that they and the former winners are the biggest targets, making an alliance with Will and Lisa.

I think Amy, Roddy and Marvin are really the only ones I'm extremely disappointed about not participating. I was hoping for a better option from the first season as well.
But I think we'll end up with a good cast, believe it or not. Leave out the boring people, and I'll expect we'll end up with a house that has the optimal balance of drama queens and fun people. I just don't want anybody in there I'm indifferent about. I either want people I can root for, or make fun of, or both.

I agree, Lifeonhold. The friendships were more fun than the hook-ups--maybe because they felt more sincere, and didn't end badly. That's why I want Bunky in--he'll find someone to attach to, like a funny hairy parasite.
I also wanted Amy back. She's another who would have glommed on to a new bestest friend. I like that in my hammies. I don't want them all to be calculating.
Speaking of calculating, these people all know each other already. I would think they're already trying to strike deals and form alliances in preparation for going in to the house, which sucks if it's true. I like to see the initial "Great 8" & "Four horsemen" alliances form just to see them collapse later, so I can laugh!

Do we know for sure how BB is going to pick the other six houseguests? They said America gets to vote in six, but where are the other six coming from? The assumption seems to be that BB will fill the other six positions from others in the top 20, but is it possible that they have already arranged for certain guests that weren't part of the top 20? (For instance, some people have no chance of being voted in on a popular vote, but BB might want to toss them in to make things tough for folks that are almost certain to be voted in.) BB loves twists, and I can easily see them doing that.

Jun 25 2006, 01:11 PM
That's an interesting scenario, and it would allow them to throw Jun into the house, which would be cool. I've been thinking that the producers' picks will come from the list of 20 that we've been given, because they've said that the 20 will line up in front of the house for the 7/6 episode and be told at that time which of them will go in.
That of course doesn't keep the producers from punking them all by bringing in some unexpected Hammies at the last minute, because as you said, they do love "twists"...so, hmmmm.

Well, I know the producers have said that the public will pick 3-women and 3-men from the 'potentials' and that they (the producers) would select the balance of contestants to ensure there aren't too many "nice" people in the house because they want DRAMA. (Which .. hello! So do I!)
But ... and help me out here ... have the producers ever kept anything from the TV viewing public? We knew about the X-Factor .. we knew about the pairs .. we knew about the twins. We always knew *something* was coming ..

I may be wrong, but I don't think we were told about Nik and Cowboy right off the bat. We were told to expect some sort of Project DNA surprise in the beginning. I can't remember if they told us from the beginning the nature of that surprise -- that two houseguests were closely related without knowing it -- or if they announced that some weeks in.

Jun 25 2006, 02:08 PM
Good point, TVJ. They even leaked the list of 20 to us in advance, so yeah, it would be surprising if this sort of twist was successfully kept a secret. The only twist hints they've given us so far (that I can recall) are something to do with the HoH room, and a replacement for PBJ.
As far as their choices go, they've said it will be "good vs evil" but I think they've got plenty to work with from the list of 20. Now though, I have to wonder about the extra frames on the memory wall...maybe THEY are for people that aren't on "the list"???
