I'm new around here and don't know if I'm overstepping my bounds by jumping in. But I am an avid animal lover and want you to know that I think you made the right decision, hwg. I don't consider myself a pet owner, but a pet parent. A parent's job is to always think of your childrens' needs before your own. You knew that Dawsey needed to go on to a better place and you made the tough decision to spare him from any more pain. It hurts, but if we didn't love, we wouldn't hurt. My thoughts are with you.

Oh, Heewee. I am so sorry for your loss. Dawsey was a much loved kitty who had a wonderful life with you, and you did the right thing. I wish I could give you a big ol' hug right now, though. I know how hard it is to say goodbye to a beloved pet.

Highwaygirl. I am so sorry for your loss. That is one of the hardest decisions to make, but we know it was for the best for the kitty. I have an older cat here and I would rather die myself than lose my cat. I love him that much and I can tell you loved yours too. So sorry.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Hwg. You're right though.. we're never ready to lose a beloved pet. They enrich our lives so much, it's always incredibly difficult to see them go.

Hwyg you have my complete sympathy. I have had to had more than one put to sleep because of old age and it is always one of the hardest things in the world to do. The ONLY thing that gets me through is knowing they are in a better place and not in pain anymore. As much as it hurts us to do that, it does release them from their pain. Thank you for being such a good mommy and doing what was best for your baby.

HWG I too am so sorry for your loss. I've never had to deal with that, but have lost pets in other ways, and they are like our babies, so it's so hard.

Yep... saw 'em live Wednesday night here in Houston. 8th row, my fellow hammies! The INXS.com fan club membership paid off as far as getting pre-sale tickets went.

I coulda almost reached out and touched him. *sigh*

I never saw INXS during their Michael Hutchence days, and that's really sad, because it made it extremely hard for me to fullfill my dream of bearing his lovechild... but seeing our band with JD almost makes missing them before ok.

The songs sounded great, JD sounded like he had always been with them, Our Band was wonderful, and Garry Gary has an ass to die for.

The many margaritas were kicking in, so I don't remember which song it was during, but in a slow, sexy musical interlude, JD proceeded to lick the freaking mike stand. Up and down. Slowly, quickly, round and round.... damn. Every female (and quite a few males, I might add) was just standing in place. Dumbfounded. Stupified. And panting.

I tell ya, it was the best night of aural sex I ever had.

It was their next-to last show (Dallas got the finale)... but I tell ya, the next time they tour, and every single time after that, I'll be there.

Y'all should too.

I can only imagine my outrage while watching that happen in front of my eyes.

Hey Doomie. Yes, I still lurk through here from time to time. However, I try to keep a low profile, given that I figure news of my recent marriage to diejeebert will send the suicide rates off the charts. Such is the curse of being an icon but not having the common sense to book a flight to Namibia.

But yes, diej and I got married on April 29, went out to Cape Cod for our honeymoon a couple of weeks ago, and bought our first home together last Friday. Here's a quick recap of the wedding, done recapper style.

Forty-five minutes before the outdoor wedding, and it's starting to drizzle. The universe is clearly depressed that diejeebert is off the market. However, five minutes before the ceremony is supposed to start the drizzle stops. Good thing Overg practiced up on his goat sacrificing. After a quick seat wipedown to prevent guest wet-ass, the ceremony commences. Diejeebert looks phenomenally beautiful. Overg looks like a monkey on crack. He's either smiling hugely or trying to suck the moon out of orbit. Dude has a big mouth. Anway, the ceremony happens, vows are exchanged (Overg, "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Diejeebert, "Well, so long as you're really not gay."), it starts raining again as soon as the ceremony finishes, blah, blah, blah, happily ever after.

As you can see, she married me for my romantic leanings.

Congrats to two of the hammiest Hammies. Still, I'm sad there was no live webcast of the wedding *wipes tear away*. You know those recaps would have earned their own section on HamsterTime. Keep in mind that you have to cancel after three months, otherwise it's an automatic renewal. If memory serves, the show usually lasts until the last week of September, possibly first week of October if there are unexpected delays, so do your calculations accordingly.

I'm such a softie for a wedding story. Or maybe I'm soft because I'm melting. It's been hotter than the devil's armpit here in the Valley (and smells about the same). If CBS really wants to torture the hamsters this summer, they just need to force them to do lots of shit outside. I washed my car earlier this weekend and almost passed out.

Also, for anyone that already signed up, (which I did this morning before rappy's post), if you call REAL and ask to have the coupon credited to your account .. they won't know how to do it. (At least the folks I spoke to today didn't know how to do it.) I had to have them cancel the account (after 15 minutes on the phone of them telling me I could just go back to the sign-up screen and enter it, and me saying "no, I can't"). I'm still waiting for the cancellation to show on their system, because it's not letting me register at this point.


ETA - Ok. First of all, if you go to REAL's Customer Service site and click on the link to CHAT, it's much easier than using the phone where you have to be on hold forever. I got a person in less than a minute. Here's the thing - if you've already signed up and not used the code rappy gave - you DO have to cancel your membership. However, because it takes awhile for the membership cancellation to take effect, the easiest thing to do is use a different email address and immediately sign up for an account using the discount code and it goes right through.

I just watched the video on youtube.. she not only got into bed with them saying "you're not going to turkey slap me" while laughing, but stayed in the bed and laughed after it was done to her. I'm not saying "turkey slapping" is an okay thing, because I would be disgusted, but she really didn't seem to mind. I think those guys got punished a little too harshly, especially in the media. If that had happened to me, I would have jumped out of the bed and yelled at them. She laid there and actually made jokes about it and laughed. At the end of the video she is still laying in bed with them laughing and talking like it was no big deal.

In anticipation of BB All Stars, I've been getting my screen capture software all ready and adjusting my hardware acceleration to allow for screen shots of the live feeds - BUT - I'm having problems taking video captures. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm using Snag-it Version 8 which takes video capture, but it's not letting me take more than 2 or 3 seconds of video and I can't figure out how to fix it. So, if anyone knows how to tweak the settings to allow for longer video captures using Snag-it 8, or if there is another program that's easier, please let me/us know.

Ya'll I need help. I ordered the feeds for the first time this year since I'm recently self-employed (woohoo) and have the time. But I can't figure it out. I finally got real to download, but I can't hear any of the hamsters and I can't figure out how to switch from camera to camera. Anyone wanna help out? I'll be eternally grateful and even send you some free samples of my product if you're into that kinda thing. What? I'm not above bribes!

I would love to help you out.. bribes or no bribes, but I have been known to take many bribes.... are you using the links above? If so, you can't really switch from camera to camera. If you just use the real site, usually there is a sidebar that say cam 1, cam 2, cam 3, cam 4, and quad, and you just click away on those on the side to switch around. I hope this helps you. I'm not the best at explaining. I usually use the real site and the sidebars, but all I have used so far this season are the links at the top of HT, so I'm not even sure that REAL has the sidebar in place yet.

So anyway... (not looking for a bribe, just interested) what sort of product do you sell that lets you be self-employed?

I'd be happy to tell you about my business/product, but don't want to pimp myself on the board so I'll PM you about it. Anyone else who's curious can PM me as well. I love talking about it almost as much as BB!!!

I visit the Real site only once during the BB season...to sign up and log-in. After that point, the Real site is useless to me. I start up RealPlayer directly and use each of the links from HT once, then toggle back and forth using the "FILE" drop-menu from RealPlayer. RealPlayer saves your latest links within that drop-menu, so there's no need to actually visit Real again. I use the RealPlayer shortcut from my desktop each time I want to fire up the feeds.

I hope this helps...see you all on Thursday, unless Skippy decides to lean on the audio feed button again before then.

His name is Auggie Doggie, he's mostly black lab, and I got him when he was 8 weeks. He was born in a shelter. Now he's 4.5 months. He has a white stripe down his chest. So adorable. So SMART!!

I had to put my older dog down recently... I don't know if anybody remembers me talking about Fletcher, but he was almost 15 (would have been 15 this month). He was the best 3-legged chocolate lab in the universe.
My other dog, Ghillie, is doing great. She and Auggie get along and play all the time. She's acting younger.

I hope to do some recapping, if Auggie will let me.

Hey all. I'm kicking around the idea of doing my late night recapping but am intimidated by the (this) new message board. I'm old and set in my ways which means any type of change causes hysteria, uninterrupted blonde moments known to last for weeks (or indefinitely), and sudden mood swings resulting, for the most part, in unpleasantness for those directly associated with me. I've also noticed the posts seem to be super short. I'm at a huge disadvantage here because I am a slow typer due to a minor *cough cough* disability.

I'd be happy to help out during the wee hours if needed but need to know if posting guidelines have changed from previous years...speaking of which, it's great to see familiar names! I'm looking forward to hanging out with everyone including these wretched HG'S, some of which I'd hoped to never set eyes on again unless it was through my windshield as I bore upon them at fatal speed!
