Odd, that. I haven't seen the broadcast yet, but I guess it was edited almost fairly?
Dick's stock has been going down for the past two episodes.
What's really weird is seeing how popular SisterJAM! used to be.

I sincerely hope Dick goes home soon, because I want to see how the mood in the house shifts without his presence. That will help me understand if it's something innate in this crop of hammies that's spiteful or if it's his influence that's taken the tone much harsher than past seasons.
How do you suppose the Branch Davidians would have done if David Koresh left? Sadly, he's not going anywhere. He's becoming a cult of personality. I wouldn't be shocked if BB printed up larger than life billboards and statues and put them in and around the house.

I don't know if that's giving DICK!! too much credit, or the others not enough. I'd like to say that he's gonna last because everyone wants to be F2 with him.

Is anyone else curious how many takes it took to get those goodbye messages to not resemble a drive-by-shooting style character assasination? I almost threw up watching that. It looked like every one of them was drugged out of their minds. Like they kept going, "Nope, here, take this, wait ten minutes, and we'll try again."
I'm shocked at how accurate they were with everything tonight. Not perfect, but far, FAR better than I thought they would do.
Maybe they figure they've milked Dick long enough (eww) and are ready for America to see the truth now.
Watching Dick act out and the other houseguests not only condone it but play along makes me think evil thoughts about all of them. And Eric's parting shot made me realize he doesn't even want to win. Or he's just too stupid to realize that if she goes to jury he just lost any potential to get her vote over anyone outside of possibly Dick. Maybe.
Zach is my only hope. He's the only one left whose said ANYTHING to Dick about his abuse towards another. So, as weird as he is, Zack is the man. Here's hoping he can Zach his way on through.

It's funny, I found myself really saddened by the whole thing. I did think BB saved itself a little with the dunking. Too bad it wasn't in pig slop. they all deserved it.
My take on the house as a whole is that they are all in an unsafe situation and are doing whatever they can to get by. TPTB aren't protecting anyone. However, I do wish someone would take action- either a small group of hamsters or a producer.
I still think that it's not a game anymore, just a manipulatve, ugly situation. In fact, I kind of resent it now when they use the words "strategic" and "game" The only potentially strategic move that has been made was the unexpected alliance of D/D and Eric/Jess, and I'm not usre we can credit any of them for that.
I'm waiting for the game to come back, but I don't think it will. Still, I'm here, waiting. At least for now.
When it does come back, I hope it's Zach who screws with all of them and finds a way to be a leader.
Also, I think it's a HUGE mistake to assume that sitting next to Dick in F2 is an advantage. I think if Dick makes it to F2, he stands a decent chance of winning.
Are TPTB manipulating it to be a Dick/Daniele Final two? I'd call that the worst F2 in history- more boring for us than Drew and Cowboy.

Oh, duh.
I've been reading all over this site and others about who assaulted whom. Should Dick have been booted for the iced tea? The tossing of clothes on the roof? Should Jen have been booted for destroying cigs? For swatting at Dick's ciggy? Who is to blame?
It's like a hockey game, when brawls start popping up all over the ice, and penalties are applied seemingly at random. The fans on both sides feel their team has been unfairly punished. Who is to blame?
The referees. It is their job to set the tone early in the game. They must make clear to the players what will be allowed, and what will not be tolerated. Once those sticks come up too high, or dubious checks are thrown, it could be too late.
Big Brother is a bad ref (or bad parent, or bad teacher, choose your analogy). There were no clear guidelines set at the beginning, and it's almost come to blows more than once already. Whether it is by design or neglect remains to be seen.

What I'm more curious about is future shows. Will we end up with a cast with more than one Dick? What if they all just went psycho (within the "rules") and we had a house full of Dicks next season? You have to believe that plenty of people will try to adopt his "game play," especially if he makes it to F2.
Then we'd be sure to see some fists flying and could you imagine the editing team trying to bleep out all the swears and offensive/biggoted language used.

I too am hoping the game comes back and will likely give it a try next season if this year stays the train wreck it's become. However, if it wasn't for this site I likely would just give the whole thing up. I would miss the snarky wit of the recappers and sheer brilliance of the posters.

ff174 ... I'm just guessing, but I think she is trying to jump the fence now that Jen's gone. The house has all this animosity, and once they tire of bashing the recently-departed Jen, I think she thinks they'll turn on Dick, and she wants to be standing on the safe side of that. Just my guess though, since I don't have the live feeds and have only read the recaps. (Props to the dedicated cappers!)

ff, my take on what happened was this:
Dick realized that Dani went to Amber with a deal only for herself, when he had put himself on the line for her. When she got back from the trip, Dick came up and started asking her why she is playing for one (it seemed to me that the whole selfish undertone seemed to be there) while he was playing for her. Aurora did a good recap starting at 962 of last week.
I think he realized that she may be working for a final one, not two, got nervous and was not able to communicate effectively with her about his concerns. Just took it back into their whole falling out and Dani was unwilling to address the anger of the moment without dealing with the writ large angst.
I think watching waiting is right, too, though, that whole Dani-Jameka discussion tonight seemed geared at getting her individuality as a player acknowledged in the house.
Just my two cents.

He got pissed at her for not heaping on the Jen bashing when they were telling Dani/Amber about the CigaretteGate/Penalty vote situation. He then got pissed at her for not allowing him to keep Jen's stuff in her room because she 'didn't want to be involved.' She tried to walked away, he said some snide remark about how the entire non-talking situation for the last howevermany years was all her fault (basically saying he had nothing to do with it) and she's been pissed at him ever since, basically give him the 'go screw yourself' look she's so good at giving.
She's also mentioned several times to Jameka & Amber that after 22 years, it's too late to start trying to parent her and she finds it very uncomfortable when he tries to.

ff174, my take from watching the feeds last night was that Dani might have gotten a little better perspective being outside the house during the trip to NY. All day yesterday, Dick was bragging about hiding Jen's clothes. When he went up to her HOH room to talk to Dani, he started off by bragging about it again. Dani mentioned that she got a better perspective once she was out of the house, and on the trip to NY. Dani again said that she didn't want to be brought into Dick's childish schemes and it escalated from there.

Dick's apparently not as devoted to Dani as he previously professed. Recappers just relayed that he's running her over with the BB bus in HOH, telling Jess he's got to play for his son and himself too, not just Dani. Family Feud is on, yo!

I have to say, I've always felt a little dirty watching Big Brother. It's like my guiltiest pleasure ever. But I don't think I've ever actually felt truly guilty about watching until this season. There is a level of ugliness in the house that I don't think has ever been present before. It's not just Dick, really. It's all of them. They are just ugly people inside that house. I don't know if it makes them ugly people outside the house, but in the situation they are, they've turned ugly. It's all Lord of the Flies this season. Survival of oneself at any cost. There's so little true lightheartedness and enjoyment.
Tonight was just so, so ugly. And pointlessly ugly. I keep trying to look for good in the house and I feel rebuffed at every turn. And I think the worst of it is I can't just be like, okay, they cast some bad people. BB has actively encouraged this behavior throughout the season. When I think of the things they have allowed, it just makes me feel ill. I just want September 18th to be here already.
Who knew Arnold Shapiro actually added something to the show?

Thanks for the insight, wicked. I had not caught that part of the action (the Dick/Dani convo) and it does make sense now, to see them both scrambling to ditch the other one.
On a different note .......... boy was I annoyed to see Sir Nick as Dani's "special person" on the promo tonight for Power of 10. I jumped up and left the room, yelling, "ENOUGH OF THIS CRAP ALREADY" and wondering where her boyfriend is. (Ex boyfriend?) As a single woman who's had my fill of jerks, I want to shake little Dani (caution: bones may rattle when shaken) and tell her to get a clue, and hold on to the dude who seems like a perfectly nice guy and NOT ruin a relationship over a TV Showmance. Relationships are soooooooo harrrrrrrrddddddddddd, of course. No one understaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnndddddddddds.

Random thoughts.
I hope that neither Dick nor Dani wins the big prize. I've been on their side all through this season but I think that if either of them wins it will be the final rift in their relationship. Dani would just go her way and probably say a final fu over her shoulder. I have all the sympathy in the world for her but even I have to admit that she can be a real jerk and I don't know if she'll ever grow out of it. Dick would resent the hell out of it because he would think that he contributued to her win (and he has helped her big time) and I don't think that Dani would so much as send him a ten dollar bill in a Christmas card. Dick, if he were to win, would be more likely to share but I'm not sure about that. For sure, Dani would probably take it and then resent the gift. For the sake of whatever is left of their tattered family they would be better off not winning. An imbalance of money is a real killer in most families because, all too often, money is power.
I've come to the conclusion that Jameka is the hard-luck kid this season. Due to the way things have worked out she is sort of "stuck" with Amber. I have lots of issues with Jam but if she weren't always talking and praying with Amber I know I'd like her better. I think the fact that she was the only minority in the house intimidated her in the beginning and now, late in the game, she's really starting to get the self-righteous vibe going that we've seen before. If she had a different best friend I really think we'd see a different side of her personality. But I don't care enough to cry over her if she leaves tomorrow morning.
I can't stand to think that Eric would win. Considering the pluses and minuses of being AP I think he's really playing a decent game but he would preen about the win for the rest of his life. I know it's not exactly the way it was with Boogie but it's got too much of the same weasle-ness. I just don't want that to be rewarded.
Amber. I think 50K could help her but 500K would ruin her.
The only two left are Jess and Zach. The money wouldn't ruin either of them and I don't think either of them are particurly bad people (especially out of the house). I have no idea what Zach would do...maybe finance his reality game show. Jess, being a good Mid-Western girl would probably pay for her education, buy a house, and fund her retirement. At least no harm to society. But those two to win? BORING.
Remember how we always hope for a season where we can cheer the winner? I don't think this is it. But what I like about this site is that we'll all be here next season waiting for Santa Claus again. Is it possible that we are just as delusional as the Hammies? Yes, but isn't the fantasy just lovely?

I wanted to add something to this. I've been thinking that it's very likely somebody said something to Dani and Amber while they were away from the house. I can't believe the producers let these two go in front of an audience that big. I can just imagine people shouting stuff like, "Your Dad's an asshole." "America hates Dick!" I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that Dani heard some negative comments about her father.
And Amber has been acting different since she got back, too. Who knows? Maybe somebody gave her an earful for her anti-semitic comments or for being stupid or something.

I guess that is true about Dani and Amber; possibly Dustin and Joe, also. Dick certainly is uneducated, but has some level of success, I suppose. I don't know about Kail's education, but she apparent has attained some success. The rest of the houseguests each have at least some college and appear to be living pretty good lives.

Yes, they totally did. Which annoyed the poop out of me because that was what triggered Jen to go off slop and eat. Without that context it made the slop breaking look more bratty.
Jen SAYS she went off slop because of dick getting the cigs back, but I really suspect that it is an excuse to save face. Here is the sequence of her actions as I saw it and recapped it that night:
Jen:
1) reads the rule book in the food section (commented on later by one of the hammies as one of her strange actions that day)
2) gathers up her clothing into trash bags and HIDES them behind chairs and in other drawers around the house (not really "packing")
3) starts the turkey burgers cooking (not requested by any other hammie that I can tell)
4) finishes gathering her clothes and stashing them (turkey burgers still cooking)
5) grabs Dick's cigs and destroys one carton of them, BB calls her to the DR and she hides the other cartons
All this time Dick and the other hammies are out on the stripeys talking about how erratic her behavior is; they mention that she is 'packing already' and that she's cooking turkey burgers. At one point (between 3 and 4 above) she goes out to the BY and Dick asks her about both of these things.
I think the hiding of her clothing is the most telling as to her motives. If she was just packing to leave she would do it in the regular manner, and it did not make sense to pack so early anyway. I think that she intended to destroy the cigs and go off slop from the start and that is why she coordinated the packing-cooking-cig destroying so tightly together. I don't think she 'just happened' to have read the food rules and made turkey burgers out of the blue and then later as a result of some tiff with BB over them giving back the cigs that she convieniently, at that time, went off slop by eating the food she just prepared.
No, I think that she knew her number was up and wanted to go out in a blaze of BB infamy and Dick and his smokes was the button to push and the violation of the slop rule was just another way to be outrageous and get more famewhore attention. She has used Dick getting the cigs back from BB as an excuse for going off slop, but her actions really don't support that in my opinion.
I don't excuse the vile verbal responses to Jen, but as I see it she knew how to push Dick's buttons and did so in a very premeditated way so as to go out with a bang. Which she did.

Personally, I don't understand the big deal about the slop violation. As I discussed with the wife last night, if I knew that I was going to be voted out anyway, I certainly wouldn't be sitting around eating slop.
BTW, I certainly agree that she hid her clothes because she knew she was going to destroy his cigs. She said as much.

Personally, I don't understand the big deal about the slop violation. As I discussed with the wife last night, if I knew that I was going to be voted out anyway, I certainly wouldn't be sitting around eating slop.
Though I'd still think going against her veto-winning slop agreement was wrong, I'd think that a somewhat of a reasonable explanation, if it wasn't for this:
Jen in the DR After the Veto Meeting: "When I'm still here next week, Daniele and Dick will definitely be my target for the rest of the season."
During SmokeGate on Tuesday:
Dick: "Your stupid ass has been outplayed and your ass is hitting the road on Thursday..."
Jen: "Not really at all..."
Dick: "You are so outplayed..."
Jen: "I actually thought I was still staying. That's not anything to do...uh..I just found your cigarettes."

It doesn't really matter. She knew that there would be a penalty. She weighed the penalty against the crime and made her decision.
I only wish that they would give amber a penalty nom since she also ate while on slop.
Om a different note, was it just me or did it look like BB woke everyone up from a sound sleep to record their goodbye messages?

On house calls. Jen said they did wake everybody up to do them. Most of the time this season everyone has changed who they want to send home after they tape their message. So the good bye's are always lame.
ETA: I couldn't understand why amber cried in her's to DustButt...she thought he was staying. Wait I just realized how stupid that question was.

Ambore has got to go, but on the other had who would we have to make so much fun of.
Dick gets on my last nerve, but everyone wants to be in the F2 with him because they know the jury will not vote for him. He is gross and vulgar and just plain mean sometimes, but that's why everyone watches, just to see what the ass does next.
Jamummm needs to step up her game at bit. Then just listening to everybody snark at each other and tell her everything works too.
I think Danbony would be better off without her dad, but in the end I think she would just hurt herself.
I don't have live feed so I depend on the hamster watchers to let me know what is happening. You have a big THANK YOU and I'm sorry that you have to watch them run in their habitrail

I have a question. What exactly is a floater? If it's someone who never wins anything and then trys to influence votes....Eric?

So, reading the feeds this afternoon, it seems that Jess is going to put up Zach and Amber. Why does she listen to WeaselBoy? We know that he's not hung.
I pray to OGG that either Amber or Zach wins the POV. Jess promised that she would not put up Jameka. Assuming that an anvil does not fall on her head, Eric is safe.
That means a Donato goes up. I can see Zach and Jameka voting DICK! out. Jess would break a tie.

Basically, a floater is a hammie who doesn't commit to an alliance, but instead "floats" to whoever is in power each week. For instance, Erica was a floater last season. Floaters tend to try to stay under the radar and let the established alliances do all the dirty work, while they (the floaters) suck up as necessary.

I'm wondering why there was no footage of Dustin's first week in the jury house on the broadcast show yesterday. I suspect that because of the lengthy coverage of Jen and Dick's fight, they just ran out of time. There were no idiotic segments of diary room sessions prior to voting, either.

So... everybody is boarding the Eric Hate Train now... inneresting. (I've been driving that sucker since July.)
The Zach Love Train is almost sold out... inneresting. (Anders and I have been saving seats for weeks.)
The Jenbot Love Train left the station at damn near full capacity... inneresting. (I built that baby with my own two hands. The train, not the bot.)
All I can say is: Welcome Aboard! WOO WOO!
I couldn't be happier.

If Zach is put up this week and goes home I don't know what I'm going to do. I jumped aboard the Zach train but can't see myself cheering for anyone else. This is turning out to be like so many previous BB's where by the end I just don't give a shit what happens.

Haunted Rain? "Resistance is futile."
I kid.
I've been a passenger on the Er-ick Hate Train for quite some time. It's a white-knuckle descent into the deepest pits of hell but that's not your fault, that's just where we need to go to find Er-ick. Thank goodness there was that Jenbot Love Train to lift my spirits occasionally (in that keep-me-out-of-bell-towers way).
Zach's Love Train is going to leave the station without me 'cause, while I love underdogs, I know it's bound for destination Nowheresville.

There is still hope for our bunny-man Zach to stay away from Sequesterville.
As for the Eric-hate train, I'm climbing on. I did empathize with his role as America's Player and how that messed up his game, but now I'd like to throw him in front of the train.

So true,
Sidhe, so true. This is Big Brother, after all. And what's the first rule of Big Brother?
Let me conclude with this (possibly another motto for HT):
It's the journey, not the destination.

My Real is acting screwy, and I can't rewind...Did Dani tell Dick to hide Ambers ugly sunglasses? They were in the BY I thought Dani said " hide these they are ugly." Dick said who's are they Zack's?' DAni said "No Amber's" I just want to see if that is what was said or if I heard it wrong.
Wasn't she all upset that he hide Jen's clothes but is now telling him to do the exact same thing. I can't stand this girl.

It's early, but Zach could be in trouble. DICK! wants Zach to go. Eric has also been bashing him all afternoon and he and DICK! have been blowing each other for the past 2 weeks. Jameka is an automatic vote for Amber to stay.
That being said, I can see America voting to oust Amber, so it could get fun. Of course, I said that last week and it was a 6-0 blowout.
Anything to knock the smug out of Eric is fine by me.
