CHAT INSTRUCTIONS - COPIED FROM MAGPIE'S ANNOUNCEMENT ON THE BACKUP BOARD (Mods, could this find a home someplace here on the main board?)

(OK, I'm doing this from memory, so someone chime in if I got it wrong!)

To get into chat using AIM, do the following:

1. Log in to AIM.
2. Click on People, then choose Send Chat Invitation.
3. Put your screen name in the top box.
4. In the bottom “chat room” box, take out the room name that is in there, and type in "chatHT" (without the quotes).
5. Hit “send”.

ETA: From the old board (thank you, Google!), here are instructions from lifey on how to get in using a newer version of AIM than the one I use:

1. Sign into your AIM account.
2. Click on your AIM username in the AIM list of Buddies.
3. In the latest AIM (6.0.28), go to the Actions section at the bottom of the window and choose Chat / Buddy Chat
4. Change the Chat Room name to chatHT then select SEND

We already have instructions posted in the Site Tips & Tricks thread as well as the Site & Show Questions thread. That's sufficient, I think.

Oh, for some reason I just thought it was on the Backup Board.

I think I'm still gathering myself in. Nevermind.

Has anyone tried that new Chill beer that comes with lime?

My husband bought some last week - said it tasted like Tequiza. What the hell does Tequiza taste like? Beats me. The closest I get to beer is hard cider. Have you tasted that new Raw Tea? If you like iced tea, it's yummy with an added surprise of happy juice ;)

Aww-everybody loves a lush!

Thanks lindilou I'll have to check out the Raw Tea. Right nnow I am a big fan of Parrot Bay Wave Runners-very orangey.

The new Chill beer kinda intrigues me. But, why did they have to go put more salt in it? That right there turned me off. I may try it if someone says that the salt isn't too overpowering.
Anders44Leafs
I mix my drinks the old fashioned way: late at night, a glass of soda or juice, a dash of vodka from on top of the fridge, and a full jigger of shame..

I've heard the Chill beer is okay, but haven't tasted it myself.
MrsGryn
I refuse to consume anything with the word "Chill" in it.

Or "town".

Or watch the movie Boogie Nights while dancing to the song Boogie Oogie Oogie.

I enjoy a nice margarita made with some top shelf tequila and some Cointreau. Always nice on a humid summer night while watching BB while sitting on the deck.

Thanks for the good wishes everybody. I spent my lovely birthday morning at the DMV and let me tell you what fun that was partying with all the dregs of society and waiting in a long long line to get my number so that I can wait to enter the "real" line. party. time.

Inkhusband had better have something nice planned for the 2 hours between band camp pickup and Boy Scout meeting tonight. Ah the life of a scouting family.

I'm crossing my fingers that the huge brightly wrapped box in the living room is my very own whacky altar - or some wrinkle cream - since I'm officially OLD now. (Yeah, I graduated high school the year Jessica was born - 19 19 1985.)

Happy Birthday Inky and 1SunnyGyrl!! LEO'S ROCK! And so do the 40's, Inky! Hope you both are having a great birthday!

I feel very uneasy about plastic containers the size of the Wack Shack; have the safety considerations been addressed? I'm worried about a kid getting trapped in a Wack Shack and apyxiated.

When I was a young kid I once got into a wooden toybox that had a vinyl lining and closed the lid. I thought it was cozy, but after a while I was seeing white flashing spots in front of my eyes and I remember being a little woozy when I finally lifted the lid and got out. I was not playing a game, but just liked the cozy space.

I am also concerned about those new huge plastic bags that are being advertized on TV recently in the "Clutter Monster" ads.

Young kids don't know better.

Happy 40th inky - Hope it was special! I'd haze you but in a couple years I'll be at the precipice myself.

OH Holy Hell! It's fucking hot here! It hit 100 degrees in the plant and they didn't send us home. If it had hit 105, they would have. Like that extra 5 degrees was gonna make a difference. At one time, the PM came down our line looking for somebody, anybody. We had the whole thing shut down and were sprawled out in the office. We weren't even laughing or carrying on either. Just sitting there with blank looks on our faces, trying to cool off. He stuck his head in the door, opened his mouth to say something, looked around at the zombies and shut the door. He's a smart man.

Holy crap! Do that not have labour laws down there??

Just a friendly reminder:

PLEASE PLEASE do not neglect us west coast HTers today. Y'all know today is a life altering vote and a) our frial hearts cannot withstand the suspense b) most of us quit watching the show 'cause we have HT and it is funnier here than any CBS edition.

PLEASE!! PLEASE!!

Yep, the Law,(PM), says to labour. If you pass out, you can go home.
They've actually been good about it this week. Tuesday and wednesday, we went home at 11:30am and 1pm.
Magpie
Yo, boof, I thought about you today when our electricity went out. No A/C, but also no computers (no HT!) and no lights. It was only 100 degrees outside today, so we got to stay at work, too. In the dark. Unable to actually work since our computers were dead.
vee_loves_realty
Thank you HTers! You came thru for us.!!!!

Taking out excessive bolding. -Tsy

Am I here? Oh thank goodness! Two, almost three days with no internet is just too much to deal with. I just finished watching Thursdays show and can just imagine how wonderous chat must have been.

I missed you guys!

Heh. We're ALL crazy!

I've always loved how it calls us all "users".

HT is addictive, yo!

Oh lawd, you pranksters better not start signing up a bunch of ghostnics just to make funny "The newest member is..." displays!

Happy Happy Birthday Sophy! Leo's rule.

(And if your significant other doesn't do a better job of planning something to celebrate than mine did, then you can join my "men who mess up birthdays suck" party tonight. The margaritas will be a-flowin).

I hope your day is great. Maybe you'll get a jack-shack-altar too, or one of George's keys if you are really really lucky.
Magpie
Happy Birthday, Sophy!
Sophy
Thank you all for the birthday greetings!!

I have had a fabulous birthday so far -- we actually starting celebrating a day early with a trip up to Chicago for sailing on Lake Michigan Friday afternoon, then a GREAT dinner out with friends at the Landmark Grill, where I was introduced to, and fell in love with, their $12 pomegranate martini (and our cute server, Alan). Then back very late to our hotel (Hotel Indigo, very cute place) for a few hours sleep before brunch with our friends at Nookie's on Wells (in Old Town). Then, sadly, we had to come home, but at least now I can catch up on these crazy hammies for a couple of hours before more birthday fun!

I know some of you HT'ers are Chicagoans, thus I "name dropped" (like Dickus) the places we wined and dined so you could experience it with me!

ETA: While in Chicago, I searched high and low for Joe, but alas, did not find him.
Haunted Rain
Aww, Sophy, good for you! Sounds like fun. Happy Belated Birthday!

Happy late Birthday. Soph.
And while I'm relieved that I've gotten a reprieve on Maj driving, I felt so bad for the poor thing. Then I didn't feel so bad when he jumped me in the front yard, knocked me down and proceeded to drag me, by the foot, across the lawn so that all the folks at Hardees had a "show" to watch whilst they enjoyed their Gravy Biscuits.

Yeah right! I suppose I could take a picture of his neck where I clawed the hell out of him. He didn't even know I had done it until I mentioned it. Now I'm "the worst Mom in the world, and how could you do that to me when I love me soo much? *pouty face* Can I have 10 bucks? Since you maimed me?"
