I MISSED IT!
We're buying a house and the final walk though was tonight and I missed the season Premeire!! I can't believe it.
Is there a place I can see it?
I tried the CBS site but every time I clicked on a Full Epi of BB, it sent me to As the World Turns.
Gaaahhhh!!!
I am so mad at myself.

You might wait until tomorrow and check the CBS site again. It doesn't look like they've updated it since the premiere. Tomorrow it should have all sorts of voting and stats and such on it. Plus the House Calls stuff. The Innertube channels usually don't update until early morning the day after things aired on broadcast.

yes, it does figure. home for lunch to check up on the hammies anddd we've got trivia. does trivia always equate to a competition of sorts? i think it does, but i'm not positive.
ps: go carol!! not sure how everyone else feels, but i dont think i want her gone just yet. not to mention that i want to see Kail crash and burn when her "logic" for noms (the people who fell off first were Carol and Amber) doesn't hold up. Since she's said she wouldn't put Zach or Jen up (the two who were eliminated right after Carol/Amber)

I have a general question (sorry if it's a stupid question). Is the coverage on Showtime the same thing that is being shown on the live feeds. I mean, I know it's the same people and same house. I was just wondering if it's the exact same shots, etc.

Not dumb at all. Yes, it is the same as Live Feeds but you don't get to pick a spot from the quad cam. BB/Showtime decide which quadrant you'll be viewing and switches it up from time to time. There's about 2 minutes of Showtime advertising every 25 - 30 minutes. It's not bad. Although I can see I'm going to get frustrated when I get into a conversation and it switches to another feed.

One good thing is that there was no editing during the first 3 hour show that I saw. Even when they started singing or talking about celebrities, no sound dips or anything. It's nice to actually hear what they're saying for once. They move around every few minutes but it's usually on the biggest group or most interesting conversation.

Snooky said: BUT she apparently amazed the psych tester lady, by scoring really high. And psych test lady told her she had never in her 16 years of giving the test met such an amazing young woman, someone so ready to help others, someone so kind and wonderful as Amber. Amber recited what she said about her, but I'm paraphrasing here. I guess they weren't testing for modesty.
Adding: I heard that too, Snooky. Something I heard Amdumb telling Dustin during that same convo last night was that she is very loyal. Very trustworthy, can keep secrets, etc. She has never lied to a friend, ever.
Yeah, I'd say she's pretty special. The whole thing was unbelievable to me.

This IS fucking ridiculous for the first POV contest. Don't TPTB realize I've carefully planned my day around recapping and now it's all for nothing. All the conniving and lying that I have to do to justify spending the entire afternoon watching and recapping the feed takes a lot of hard work, TPTB. Throw me a friggin' bone over here. There's been some discussion in various threads about creating nicknames for each of the hamsters. My feeling on nicknames can be summed up in a quote from the classic "Mean Girls":
QUOTE
Gretchen: That is so fetch!
Regina: Gretchen, stop trying to make fetch happen! It's not going to happen!
The best nicknames usually just fall into someone's post later in the season. We barely know their given names the first week, let alone these random monikers we're trying to apply to them.
That being said, who is this "Mike" I've heard of?

I know the first week is usually painful, but it's usually not this bad, right?
See, the problem with this cast so far is that there's no one to really like, but no one to really hate, either. BB6 was fun because we had people to cheer for and people to boo. This season, so far I don't really feel I have more than vague like or dislike for these people. It's a lot of boring Christians and boring famewhores, far as I can tell. I may give up and just start cheering for Dick out of a desire to be contrary.
To answer a question: Mike is the one that's systematically going out on camera-whoring dates with the women of the house. No doubt he's a CT plant now. Zach is the one with the creepy smile that generally uses large vocabulary words correctly.

I have an observation. Where are the live creatures? Last year we had creepy crawlies, the previous year we had fish, this year I think the house should have had a really cool habitrail. That would rock, and one feed should always be on them, they would probably be far more entertaining.
For now I will just drink more beer and hope that keeps them from being so boring. And yes, I haven't established any hate for anyone right now, although I am not too fond of Kail, if she would stop spending so much time in her room and mingle with the peasants (did I spell that right) could happen.
I really need to find my dictionary, the one I reserve for the hamstertime season, so I don't always have to think of alternative words to type when I can't remember how to spell the one I want.

My thoughts on the house so far
Groups I *think* have already formed:
Kail, Mike, Zach (& they control (maybe) Eric, Nick & Jen but don't fully trust them)
Jessica, Daniele, Dick & Jameka
Amber & Dustin
Joe & Carol
I don't like Kail much, but don't see her as the "Maggie" of the year. Amber is more Maggie-like IMO. All the back-patting and "connection" and uber-confidence. Watch OUT if she ever gets HOH.
By default, I'm rooting for Carol to stay. Buuutt I don't like her helper guy Joe.
I want to like the Blonde Alliance but Jessica is so flighty (though that can be amusing to watch). When Carol was trying to sway Jessica, J was really acting like she might give her a vote and was seriously considering things just to run to Daniele and make fun of her in a snotty Heathers kind of way.
SO I'm torn about which side to root for. Every group has somebody I don't much care for. Of course I could be all wrong about the alliances. I like having somebody to root for and against.
Alise

Those two blonde Paris-like things that are out sunning themselves right now have to go. How vapid can two people be. Ugh. I think one of them is the older guy's kid.
Surely, out of all the people that applied there people with some kind of personality.

As much as I dislike hearing Jessica and Daniele talk, Dani does seem to have some smarts about what is going on. I can't say the same for Jessica, but maybe she's a master thespian (not to be confused with the "blonde lesbians" remark she made earlier). I have a feeling that Daniele is putting on a bit of an act, but who knows.
Violetta
Jul 8 2007, 05:34 PM
I kind of see the house alliances as this so far:
Amber and Dustin, with Dick floating around the edges
The "Mrs Robinson" alliance of Kail, Mike, Zach and Nick
Joe and Jessica (although Jessica told Danile that she can't fully trust Joe)
Then there are various nebulous or loose alliances:
Daniele, Jessica, Jameka, Joe, Nick, Zach (I think this is the SSS "Super Sexy Six" alliance)
Dick has also stated that he would rather see Daniele win than himself, so I don't know exactly how that's going to work.
Jen, Eric, and Jameka seem to be floaters with no strong primary alliance partner. Carol is trying to algin with Joe and I guess Jen.
Amber wants the "smart" players out first, meaning Kail, Mike and Zach.
Kail's group seems to want Joe to go, and the last I heard it sounded like they would put Jameka up against him.
It looks like Carol is going this week, but with three days left before eviction and Amber running her mouth non-stop and plotting too much, I could see her back-stabbing getting exposed and her getting the surprise boot. That could be interesting.
I also think Danile may have it going on in the game department. She's got some idea of what's going on, and she's playing a good social game without going over the top like Amber.

Jen and Mike retire upstairs to play chess. She obviously needs to erase any damage done by Amber and Mike's date. She wants him for herself.
Anyway. Her first move is stupid. Rook's pawn to Rook 4. Mike responds with King's pawn to King three. Not what most people would do, but not bad either.
Now, Jen moves King's knight to Bishop 4!! Jen, hon. a knight can't move like that. She is playing a game which I am not familiar with.
Maybe this is the CT version of chess. The pieces are a little difficult to pick up, but I'll watch a couple more moves to see what happens.
Unfotunately, Skippy changes the camera angle and I can't follow any more moves.
Does anybody else notice that Jen sounds very nasal? She kinda' sounds like Eddie Murphy doing his marvelous impression of Buckwheat.
I leave the Chess Game for the Mentally Impaired and post.
Question I keep seeing CT refrences please refresh my memory is this a ChillTown Ref? And do we know for a fact that they are friends with Will or Booger?
Thanks for the answer

Based on what I saw last night, Kail's alliance is Mike, Zach, and Nick. Which makes me just a tad envious, that she roped all the young straight guys into an alliance to serve her. Hee! Old broads rule.
I hope tonight's show reveals how this interesting alliance came about. It's really smart for the young guys, too, because they can showmance all they want and not have it mess up their game plan--keep 'em separate.
swsa
Jul 8 2007, 09:06 PM
I think it'll still mess up their gameplan. Zach's already making noises about wanting Daniele out, and I can't imagine Nick will be thrilled with that. Shades of Jase/Savage/Holly. I also think the guys are way more loyal to each other than to Kail. They seem content to let her hibernate in HoH while they mingle. As it is now, Kail's on a lot of hit lists, while the guys really aren't yet.

Jul 8 2007, 11:41 PM
Out of boredom, I've decided to categorize this season's houseguests using the Homeland Security Terror Alert system in terms of how big a threat they are to win it all.
GREEN- LOW RISK
AMBER: What allies, exactly, does she have? Dustin, and... that's about it, right? I don't see her as a gamer, although she might make it far if she has someone who she can hitch her wagon to.
JEN: She's the Holly for Kail and her Horsemen. Human shield if someone that doesn't like their group wins HOH. Her stay will be plenty long enough.
CAROL: If she's cracking under pressure from the cameras after five days... she won't last three months. Even if she DOES survive this week, I don't see her as in it for the long haul.
BLUE-GUARDED RISK
DICK: Does anyone actually like or trust him? Although players like Gerry, George, and Marvin, in the past, have made the most of having not much of an alliance... none of them won, you know? He is capable of creating chaos, and capable of helping Daniele, at any rate. He won't win, though.
DUSTIN: He seems a little out of the loop. Also, he has a vindictive ex-boyfriend in the house that appears to have more allies. If he can make it past the initial phase of the game and gets some good allies, might do okay, but so far, he seems to struggle.
YELLOW- ELEVATED RISK
JAMEKA: Does she have the game plan to make it far? Does she have the allies? I don't know yet. I can't tell if she's under the radar or a floater with no actual game plan, but she seems smart and personable?
JESSICA: I can see her making it FAR, but I can't see her winning. See, she reminds me of Alison in that I could easily see her making it deep into the game, but I think in doing so she'd burn so many bridges that she couldn't possibly win. Then again, she may surprise us. Depends on her social game.
JOE: Either: he will go VERY soon because he's annoying, or he'll be runner-up and lose in a landslide. Your pick.
ERIC: He's the kind of player that is sneaky and probably will have multiple deals going... and everyone will see that, and as soon as they have no use for him, dump him. Think how far that took James the last two seasons. Maybe he'll make it a bit longer because he seems a bit more personable, but... he has no TIGHT allies (except maybe Jameka?) but he could do well as a floater. On paper, he should do well, but somehow I think he'll overplay his hand and cost himself the game.
ORANGE- HIGH RISK
KAIL: She's smart, quite possibly the smartest player in the house. She knew the exact move she had to make (alliance with brawny guys with mommy issues to save her from being ousted as the rich Republican mom in a house full of gonorrhea-ridden gay men) and made it. I think HOH the first week is always a crapshoot and not worth the trouble, though. My prediction: either final four or pre-jury, no in-between.
ZACH: He's smart and quiet, which makes people nervous, but everyone considers him to be potentially in their alliance, so we shall see... No clue what his social game is going to be like, though.
RED- SEVERE RISK
DANIELE: Quiet, but very smart, and she has two good allies in Dick and Nick, along with a decent alliance. She can slip under the radar pretty effectively (because she's so skinny! Har har) but she seems to have game and an excellent position.
MIKE: He seems to be both smart and strong. If Kail's boys dominate the house (and they may have the brawn to do so) he will probably win because he has the sense to court the women outside of his alliance for potential votes.
NICK: No real enemies. A foot in every alliance in the house. Everyone likes him, everyone seems to want to work with him, and he has a budding showmance with a well-liked houseguest. EXCELLENT positioning. If one alliance falls, he moves over seamlessly. This is how Lisa and Drew both won without anyone even thinking to try and stop them. In my mind, his game to lose, especially if he demonstrates any strategic acumen. Hell, even if he doesn't and he proves to be as dumb as a post, he still has a good shot.

Jul 9 2007, 12:02 AM
I think that Kail should be the one to hear the sob story. Why do you ask? Well, logically, that would be the person he'd go to anyway, so he'd still be in his comfort zone and be able to pull it off well. Next, she, as a mom, will feel for him, and since she has a pretty strong alliance will shield him for at least a little while. Finally, she might blab that story to others, not like Joe, granted, but coming from Kail it will have a more, "aaww, poor guy" quality to it as it's passed along rather than a, "Can you believe what Eric just told me?" that one could expect from a Joe retelling.
swsa

I voted for Kail for the reasons you state, ihearthammies. I'd like Eric to make it to the jury so he has to vote for whichever final two person we say he has to vote for. That's my goal for keeping him in the house right now.
