His head is too small for his body. It freaks me out. However, when he was wearing that knit cap in the one DR entry? I found him pretty tasty. And his tooliness is at a manageable level so I'm cool with him so far.

I think Nick could go the distance. It's not just that most everyone likes him. He seems to have made pretty strong bonds across alliances. Amber calls him her "favorite person". Daniele seems to adore him. Dick talked about being impressed with him. He flirted with Joe big-time last night. He seems to have ins with just about every clique in the house, while not alienating anyone.

He's a teacher but a gym teacher. Not that gym teachers aren't important but that's usually a fall-back job for ex-jocks.

I like him though. He's definitely making moves on the ladies but doesn't seem over the top with it yet. He's getting along with everyone and looks pretty easy going. I like that he's comfortable with getting his nails painted pink and flirting with the gay guy. Jocks usually tend to be overly macho and sometimes homo-phobic.

Ok, I want to get back to the "suck a dick" and "my dad thought I was gay" comments last night. I heard him say these things but I didn't catch the context. Can someone provide some clarification? Thanks

I really want to know what y'all think, b/c everyone who watched the feeds (or After Dark on Showtime) seems to think he was joking. I'm not so sure.

I just don't see a former football player being so non-chalant with the gayness. They're all about the manliness. I think he threw it out there just to see what people would do/say.

Alright, I went and watched the clip. Thanks for pointing me to the clip Crimsongrl. I'm with you and kind of on the fence. I think Nick meant it as a joke but there is something about that whole line of conversation which was either very calculated to appeal to Joe or very revealing. A former NFL football player coming out on BB would be kind of big news and having all these girls going after Nick only to find out he's gay would be a very BB-like twist. Hmmmmm.

The way he said it was too nonchalant. To me, it seemed obviously a joke. I mean, he's talking about his dad at one point thinking he might be gay, and then there's a very dry sarcastic, "well, coulda been that blow job I gave that guy," you know?

It's sorta like saying...oh yeah, my parents thought I might be violent. Probably because they saw me strangling our puppy, whatev.

It just seemed too much of a throwaway sarcastically obvious comment.

Of course, even so, it makes me like him more, even though he's all about the ladies. Shows he has a sense of humor and he's not homophobic. He's the type of guy that could give a gay a guy a serious straight man crush. He probably knows that and is using it to his advantage.

i think i posted this in the recap thread, but Jameka and Jessica were talking in the kitchen last night going through the players in in the house who "stood out" and those who didn't. somewhere along their conversation, Nick's name came up.. and Jessica had put him in the group of people who stood out because "they knew exactly what he was doing". I think Jameka's smart and will realize that Nick is on everyone's good side, and will try to do something about it. We'll see though.

He looks a lot like the last guy I dated. Kinda weird. My sister commented that she hated his hair and it made me laugh since the guy I dated was very particular about getting his hair like that. He may even end up jealous that Nick's hair does it better. I'll have to ask.

He didn't stand out much on the show so I'll have to read the feeds and see if I like him anymore. He sounds fairly normal from what I've read here. I think I'll like him.

I haven't caught up with the live feed recaps, but did anyone catch Nick spooning Joe?!?!? Eeeeewwww!!! It's a good thing I haven't eaten breakfast yet. That goofy happy look on Joe's face makes me want to wretch. I hope this is a strategy to get Joe out of the house, but if that's the case, someone needs to tell Nick that Joe might actually enjoy being backdoored. Talk about taking one for the team. Is it just me, or does anyone else see that Nick is trying to subtly come out on BB? With the pink fingernails, the comment about giving a blow job and his dad's comment. Also, the other night when they were going to have story time and Joe was sitting on the couch outside, he goes over and lays his head in Joe's lap. I have just seen him too many times giving affection to the gay guys. I get the feeling that he is trying to tell us something.

I think Nick had a season and half with the vikings as a kick returner. If I remember right, he went to college at the University of Wisconsin.

As for coming out on the show...I don't know. Nick is definately pretty Metro...almost every guy on the show except Dick seems to be Metro. Well, maybe not f'ingEric. Anyway, it would make a pretty good splash if he did come out on BB - still not that many ex-football guys have come out to this day.

I'm probably giving Nick too much credit as a strategist, but I kind of think he's intentionally giving the impression that he is not a threat to anyone. He's also managed, as far as I can tell, to make himself pretty much the best-liked person in the house. I'm thinking it's possible that he's doing whatever he needs to do to endear himself to each of the Hammies.

I agree. I may be overestimating his game (like I've done in the past with previous Hammies,) but I think it's all strategy on his part. It seems to be working. Everybody loves him, no one feels threatened by him. I think he just might be able to win this thing.

He attended The University of Minnesota, Crookston. Here is a roster of the 2004 team. He is #11. At one time you could check the stats of the team, and he actually led his team with 6 interceptions in 2004. The link does not work anymore, however.

As for his pro football career, I don't think he played for the Minnesota Vikings. I had a little too much time on my hands one day and poked around on the internet. I am pretty sure he played for the European Football League (not to be confused with NFL Europe.) In fact, this may be a couple levels below NFL Europe. 90% of the rosters are filled with local players from such football stalwarts as Finland and Norway, so I am pretty sure the quality of football is pretty bad.

I looked at the rosters of this league to see if I could find his name, and I couldn't. However, there was a picture of him somewhere on the internet where he was posed in front of the logo of the league.

Oh and Finland HAD an NFL team, but NFL europe folded after losing 30 Mil in a single season. For those of you who don't know, being a punt-returner on a european football team is like being a bronze medalist at the special olympics. Whew.
