Dick is 44, from Los Angeles, CA, is single and a bar manager.
If this guy mentions Belly or Booger, Fisty will be issuing a fatwa.

The most disturbing thing about Dick is that at 44 he still thinks this is an appropriate way to present himself to the world.
He needs to be on "What Not To Be."
Mike Boogie is soooo his idol.

He reminds me of my best friend (just not as good looking)
Even reading his my space the guy is my generation real.. He thinks he is a player but is pretty clear he isn't God's gift either. Just speaks his mind and trying to deal with getting old.
I have to confess he is younger than I am and we went to different high school but we lived in Long Beach at the same time and who knows I could have partied with him back in the day..
I also think he is going to shake things up, he is firm in his political views and I can see some head ons with Kail. And if his "rival" is who they think it could prove really intense to watch.
Please don't use sigs...thanks! Mags

This guy is insane. Highlights from his myspace page (
http://www.myspace.com/eveldick):He says he's 38. And he needed to give himself a few years of leeway. Too bad his high school graduation year was 1981, which fits right in there with him being an unwanted 44 year old.
He's got a son.
He's going through a very internally confusing midlife crisis (probably the reason he claims to be 38 for the throngs of women throwing themselves at him via myspace).
and...
Did you see his used tampon Halloween costume?
If this guy lasts more than week in the house, we're in for some serious entertainment.

Yeah, he's right in there in Boogtard's league. When he fails at relationships with women -- because he never really grew up -- he blames it entirely on something being wrong with them and his chauvinist side comes out.

Dick seems interesting to me. Pathetic but interesting.
Snooky
Jun 29 2007, 12:00 AM
Pathetic is right. About his daughter, he writes in his blog, "I haven't been a great dad. My daughter hasn't spoken to me for about a quarter of her life. Part her fault, part mine... but, yes... I am the adult, well now we both are, but point is made. We have, or she has always had a love hate relationship with me. I think she gets me, but she doesn't. Is that her fault? I am fucked up, how is she supposed to get that? How is she supposed to understand that? She has been an adolescent teenage girl, she is now 20, how am I supposed to get that?"
Stupid idiot. You don't have to "get that," you just have to be there for her, be a father. This guy is one dysfunctional weirdo. I think he'll be entertaining, but I also expect him to have a short fuse (part of the entertainment factor, of course!). Especially after reading his blog entry about what he thinks of women. I think he'll be leaving within the first three weeks. After all, this is the guy who writes "Did you ever know you had been with the hottest person you will ever be with and you have no chance of topping it ever again? You topped out, so to speak... Yes, very shallow. But, I am a guy and it is all part of my make up, so fuck off." Wait 'til we see this dynamic played out for our entertainment!
I bet Jen will be perceived by him as a tease, and he'll be hot for her, then really pissed because she won't take off her clothes (for him). She insists she won't so many times on her MySpace page, I figure it's a "deal" with her. He'll find out, bug her and push her in the guise of flirting, she'll play along at first, then hook up with hot young Mike, which infuriates old has-been Dick, who will go ballistic on Jen and call her every dirty whore name in the book.
See? I don't need the show to start. I make my own fun.

Thanks for the link, moonsovermyhammy (love the handle, BTW)!!
Wow, file this one in the "sorry I asked" category! I think I wasn't born with the MySpace gene. People are always finding all sorts of nuggets on those sites when I can hardly navigate them--I think I just get webite overload because they're so amateurish. My brain goes into lockdown mode. I would never have seen the pic if you hadn't provided the link.
Dick strikes me as a guy who fits perfectly with the fairytale theme. He's a Peter Pan--he's never grown up. He so wants to be Boogtard version 2.0. He'll hang with the 20-somethings (well, that's almost all we have this year), and paaarrrtay!, and get drunk and hot tub it and encourage the women to take off their clothes and play stupid kissing games. He'll think Kail is judging him, because she's, you know, grown up. He'll hate her guts for that. If I'm wrong, I'll go eat a ham sammich.

I don't think he blames the women for his failed relationships at all. He vents about them but if you read all of his blogs he takes responsibility for his failures. Unlike boogie who never saw a mirror he didn't like, Dick talks but he also sees his faults. Sure it's all about getting laid but that's pretty much just being a man.
Janie met him before season 6 and she says he is a nice guy, And he is a fan of the show and was a regular message board poster.

Any adult who rants and raves and swears at and condemns an entire sex has definite issues in my book. He may not have the same issues as Boogtard (definitely more aware of his own flaws), but admitting it's only half the problem. Recognizing you're an immature idiot and doing nothing about it doesn't exactly make him a stellar example of manhood. No self-censorship there at all.
We'll see what he's "really" like, but he sure has laid himself open on that website! Which alone makes me scratch my head. Some things really are better off not published for the entire world to see. What's that about, anyway? Is he seeking sympathy? Understanding? That said, his willingness to "share of himself" *snerk* makes him a perfect BB houseguest!

Snooky, I always like your take on things. He is the perfect houseguest in many ways.
I was thinking on my way to the grocery store...YES, I think about HT and BB a lot!)... anyway, I was thinking that he's getting attention, postings, hits, etc. The producers must be very pleased with that, regardless of the reason. Same goes for the Danielle twist. No matter how lowdown it is, It has generated interest
I wonder how many people have signed up for the feeds already, in comparison to last year at this time?

Don't feel bad! I actually
dreamt of BB8 the night before the cast was announced. Weirdness!
Yeah, the best HGs -- as far as we're concerned as viewers -- are those who are completely unconcerned with censoring themselves. Sometimes the results make me turn away, grimacing at the sheer lunacy and shallowness of the human condition, but mostly I just snicker and thank God it's not me being put under a microscope.
You are so, so right that the producers love this interest in Dick and the other HGs! I know it's made me more intrigued. Can't wait to see what this guy is like in real life. Wouldn't it be funny if he turned out to be a total teddy bear, considerate and kind in all things, respectful of the women, a stellar behavioral role model for the young men?
Nah--then Grodner wouldn't have cast him!
Where's the blog from the son that outs the father/daughter connection? Man, I feel bad for Danielle already.

Puff, you make me laugh.
Do you maintain a MySpace account? It's not a bad thing! I'm just picking on Dicky, mostly because of his MySpace content!
As for his personality working for or against him...I forced my way through some of his self-pitying blogs, and he calls himself bipolar (wouldn't be diagnosed, I shouldn't think, or he wouldn't be allowed on the show)-- low lows and high highs. I'm thinking he has absolutely no solid plan, will let his emotions lead him, and will not make it very far because of it. He'll seem like a good-time guy at first, but when something upsets him or pisses him off, all bets are off. I just don't think he'll be able to contain his opinions or feelings, so he won't last long.
