As I was saying at the end of the previous thread, let's see if we can't discuss Janelle without getting riled up and argumentative. Please try to keep the discussion focussed on Janelle as a BB player, and not start debates over what she may or may not have done in the past outside of the house. Thank you.

This was posted in the previous Janelle thread. I don't really care if Janie did any nude shots. I just want to address the 40 pounds ago comment.

It's been reported here that Janie is 5'9". I've read recaps where she stated she came into the house at about 130 pounds and that she gained about 10 pounds while she was there. Considering they gave the hammies a scale, she probably wasn't fibbing too much. Janie might not have ads of steel or the pilates body of Erika, but she is a reasonable weight for her height. Even if she was fibbing by ten pounds and she started out at 140 and left the show at 150, she'd still be a good weight for a woman who is 5'9".

One of the ways I was taught to come up with a woman's approx weight is that at 5' a woman should be about 100 pounds and you can add 5 pounds for every inch of height added. So IF Janie took pictures weighing 40 pounds less then she reportedly weighs now she would have weighed between 90 and 100 pounds. That would be very unhealthy for her height and I doubt she would have looked attractive at all.

Perhaps the original poster was just exaggerating, but I just have a hard time letting those types of comments go. It's important that we keep a reasonable idea of what a woman's body is suppose to look like. Otherwise we'll end up with far too many women striving to look like Erika.

I think Dani would pee her pants over anyone winning an AC over Janelle. She had several conversations in the house about Janelle's popularity with the audience, and the games that were rigged for Janelle's benefit. She was fixated over evicting Janelle and was the first to launch a smear campaign against Janelle when she teamed up with James. Danielle and James bonded over anti-Janelle sentiment. There's no reason to believe that her Janelle obsession magically disappeared as soon as she left the BB house. It was in very poor taste to be rooting for George while Janelle (a known AC fav) stood right next to her.

Dani is indeed very Janellous IMO. BUT, I think Danibitch is this jealous of everyone else who might get something she doesnt get. She has harped on all the prizes her 'boyz' took during that veto comp.. because why? It didnt benefit her ass. She broke down like a drunken freek when Erika told her she would be going.. why? Because in Dani's mind.. you arent allowed to do things to benefit your own game.. just hers! She has her own sorry self believing that she alone is the greatest fucking BB-er eva.. and it is inconceivable to her that these people didnt all want to be her Jason and take her to the end so she could win. Who the fuck does she think she is? Seriously.. Its like she was told by a few people that she would have won her season had it not been for her DRs.. and I really think she really thinks that all of these players were put in the house to bring her to the end and hand her the prize to justify whatever wrong she feels was done to her by losing the last time. Its sickening the sense of entitlement she has about herself. I hope the bitch gets into a rehap.. goes on the patch..and never graces my tv screen again. Dani's biggest problem with Janelle.. (cause ummmmm this is Janelle's thread) is that she could never convince Janie that she also should do all she could to get Dani to the end. Janie plays for Janie, and Dani couldnt wrap her drunk brain around that.

Boy, when folks don't like a player they sure read alot into their actions. Many people in the house thought George was very popular with America because they thought he was representative of who they thought the 'common folk' who watch BB would feel closest to. Rooting for him is hardly a slap in any other player's face.

Janelle was one of the people everyone should have been working hard to get out, she won competitions, which gave her more chances to name nominees. Breaking up the Sovs was the smartest thing to do, they were turning on the outsiders, they were winning HOH after HOH. Who the hell would you take out? Howie? or the people who actually could do something in that group?

I understand rooting for Janelle, but please, let's not make evicting her the worst thing people could do in the game, when it was a good idea in game terms. I think the 'Janelle obsession' doesn't rest so much with the HG's as it does with the fans she has.

I see it as anyone who doesn't kiss Janelle's ass, or worship at her feet as obviously stupid and jealous as well as seriously delusional, 'cause she's the greatest thing ever, don't you know?

Did I mention that I love Janelle? ;-) Seriously, of course they wanted her out, she's a darn good competitor, but the biggest mistake of this game was keeping Chilltown in, they should have gone out right after Alison, but then would Janelle have gotten as far? Who knows. I just know I love watching the lady play the game more than any other hammie so far.

I love Janie and I'm thrilled she stayed in as long as she did. She came in with a huge target on her back, people wanted her out before they even entered the house and she managed to evade nearly all of them. I'm also thrilled CT stayed in, they kept Janie in and made the show entertaining to watch. Perhaps if Danielle, Erika or James would have dropped their "Janelle obsession" they would have gotten further in the game as well. As Booger said, the smartest move CT made was teaming up with Janie and keeping her in the game.


I don't see enjoying Janie's BB game skill as kissing her ass or worshiping at her feet. I enjoyed watching her for two seasons, for me, she made the shows fun. I suppose I don't understand why people who don't like her insist on returning to a thread that is obviously filled with a lot of 'Janie love' in order to toss stones at the 'Janiacs'. I don't care much for Danielle or Erika so I don't feel a need to visit their threads questioning the Danielle/Erika obsession, but maybe it's just me.

Heh, I actually think she's a pretty good player ( if she had made a couple of different strategical decisions early on and fought Kaysar on his stupid noms, she may well have won) and I would have liked to see that after Dani was gone.

I have a theory as to why Janelle had such deep contempt for Erika. It's true that the things that bother us most about other people are usually things we hate about ourselves.

Janelle is scared to death that she's going to become Erika in ten years.

Think about it... they both have a track record for ill-advised romances with reality television contestants, they both clearly have daddy issues, they both tend to put up with huge amounts of crappy behavior with the men in their lives, neither appears to get along with other women terribly well... the difference was that Erika got called out and looked pathetic, and Janelle didn't want to face the fact that it could have been the other way around... her and Will sitting in the final two, and Mike and Erika leading the charge calling her a useless whore. Granted, Janelle had a bit more jury support than Erika and might have had a shot to combat that, but there still remains the fact that Janelle and Erika really aren't all that different, just as Janelle and Ivette locked horns last season because they were really more alike than they were different (both were loyal, brutally honest, straight-shooters).

Things Erika is not, which I think was at the heart of Janey's contempt for Erika's game. Other than that, she just hated that Erika dragged her feet all the time.

I watched the game today, which was rather bittersweet, since a guy from Kalamazoo scored for Green Bay, and the Lions didn't TOTATLLY suck, they just simply lost. I didn't see Janie in any shots though; I looked. IF she was there, she was probably up with the other wives/sig others and out of camera range anyway.

I just saw a Willnelle clip on YouTube about Will talking about his upcoming board exams and how Janie doesn't ever really worry about anything. It was the night before she cut his hair. I'm SURE someone recapped that here, but I don't remember reading this conversation at all. I'll go find it if someone could give me a timeline. The clip I watched was almost 10 mins long, so it had to be here somewhere.

I went to that 'other' site because I had heard that Janelle did a chat and then Will showed up. I so wish HT got the kind of recognition that site did. You all are much funnier and witty in recaps and commentary.

It was interesting to me how busy the site was long after the show. I hope this place stays that way too; and it doesn't become totally dormant. Can I add a suggestion topic BB related? We should have a topic on what we want for BB8, what we'd keep, what we'd change as far as timelines and competitions.

Anywho, back to Janey there is speculation that she was fibbing in her chat and wasn't ever actually in Detroit this weekend at all. Anyone have anything to add to that? LOL

Janelle cut Will's hair on September 3 (Labor Day weekend), which would be in the Week 9 recaps. The search function up at the top of the page will hopefully help you narrow it down better than that!

dnicejeter, I had read something from an interview somewhere (can't remember where it was or maybe I heard it on the radio here?) that Janelle was flying back to Minnesota around the 18th and she and her family had rented a cabin for a week to just relax.

Maybe Detroit was a red herring.

Just watched this again, and well...dang. I miss Janelle. Surely she must be doing something somewhere (hopefully with Kaysar).
