You are so cool to have posted that, Tsy. Particularly the Cops premiere date. I'm tired of seeing the same doofuses getting a smackdown.
ShyLurkerGuy
Am I the only one watching Fox's Vanished wondering when Agent Kelton is going to clock out, head to Babylon, and meet up with Michael, Justin, Ted, and Emmett?

I'm too distracted with Brian Kinney working for the FBI that I can't decide whether or not I like the show. Despite the totally different setting, actor Gale Harold brings too much Kinney into Kelton in the episodes aired so far.

David Boreanaz did a better job keeping his daywalking FBI agent on Bones distinct from Angel.
Tsylyst
Whoever does wardrobe on "Vanished" needs to quit his or her day job. For real, we're talking fugly -- and not in a realistic way. In a "we're just using the leftovers after every other show on the face of the planet, and a few on Mars, have gone through the racks" kind of way.

Regarding Gale Harold on this show, spoiler/rumorthere are strong rumors floating around that Gale Harold will be leaving the show after the 7th episode. Eddie Cibrian, who will start appearing next week, I believe, is intended to be Gale's replacement as the male lead. It hasn't been officially confirmed, but Kristin at E! and Ausiello at TV Guide have both mentioned it, and any discussion of the rumor on the FOX forums keep getting deleted, so I think there's a good possibility it's true.spoiler/rumor

No, Guy! You're not the only one.

And who dresses him? His legs looked so skinny in those ill fitting light colored pants... Brian would never wear that.

Tonight at 8:00 central is the first episode of Justice. I've already watched this episode and I really liked it. Victor Garber is especially wonderful, as usual.

I liked it. Glad I got home from the movies in time to see it. I really like that they show what ACTUALLY happened at the end of the show!
MrsGryn
I watched "Justice" and enjoyed it. Will probably tune in again, depending on what's on opposite the show.

Shut up, you TIT. *slings mud back* At least I don't have MOM and/or Gilby hair !! *Smooches*

On Topic:
I thought the premiere of Justice was meh. I love me some Victor Garber, but his character surely wasn't SpyDaddy-good. Since I enjoy crime/courtroom drama, I'll watch again. Perhaps they should add a Marshall to the cast for some comic relief.

Duets sucked donkey gonads. I will not be back. Sorry, Simon, you've launched yourself another dud. That being said, Hal Sparks should totally crank out a CD.

The new shows which have peaked my interest are Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Heroes, and Six Degrees. Only their premieres will tell if my interest can last past the first week. Then again, I absolutely hated the first episodes of Friends and Seinfeld ...so I clearly have poor taste, just look at my hair.

Did anyone watch the final ep of Superhero? It was actually quite touching. I was sort of rooting for Fat Momma but, in the end, the right superhero won.

Dang! That spoiled me! I haven't had a chance to watch it on Tivo yet. At least I know it's worth watching now, though.

Agreed. Feedback was the obvious choice for me from day one.

I caught "Men In Trees" the other night... I belive they are replaying the Pilot on Friday. I didn't want to, but for some reason I really liked it. Reminded me of Northern Exposure, A LOT, though.

I didn't realize how much tv I watched! Damn...

Show to keep an eye on:

Men in Trees

Saw the pilot last Tuesday. Not bad. I love me some Anne Hesch so I might be a little biased. Think Northern Exposure meets Sex in the City and you get an idea of what the show is about. I'll give it three or four more episodes before I decide if it's a keeper.

I'll probably watch the Studio 60 pilot tomorrow that I got from Netflix. It looks like it might be good. But then again, they all do on some level.

I agree. I kinda stumbled on to this show because I never heard of it but it came on after Dancing with the Stars and like I said, I love me some Anne Hesch so I gave it a shot. I'm glad I did. I wasn't a big fan of Northern Exposure back in the day but I immediately knew that this show reminded me of that. I love shows (and movies) set in small towns so it has that working for it. Plus, James Evans (not his real name but he played the dad in Good Times) is in it. So it's got the nastalgia thing working. And also, the bar tender dude was in The Program. The cast is good enough to make this a pretty good show, but we'll see.

Oh, and I'm looking forward to seeing Smith with Ray Liotta and Amy Smart. Huge Ray Liotta fan and Amy Smart is easy on the eyes. The have a few more heavy hitters in the cast but I can't really remember who. I wanna say Giancarlo Espisito but don't hold me to that. I guess I could go look it up...

Okay I looked up the cast of Smith:

Ray Liotta
Amy Smart
Virginia Madsen
Franky G "Johnny Zero" and "The Italian Job"
Simon Baker "LA Confidential" "The Ring II" and "The Guardian"
Jonny Lee Miller "Trainspotting"
Shoreh Aghdashloo "House of Sand and Fog" and "24"

If this show sucks I'm gonna be disappointed...

I've heard (from friends that got that same disk) that it kinda sucks. They all DID say, though, that they thought the same thing about Friends & ended up loving Friends, so they are going to try it (Studio 60) out once it airs.

I watched the pilot of "Studio 60" on AOL this morning and thought it was great! But I am a Sorkin fan anyway, and loved the "West Wing" - so I figured I'd love this show before I even saw it.

I don't know if this only works on AOL or not - but here is the link to it that I watched this morning:

I had no idea that was there. Thanks.

My computer room TV was blown up by a surge about a month ago and I haven't had anything but online shows and podcasts to watch while working. I may cancel the cable. There's more interesting stuff online.

ETA: I was able to watch BB7 because we have a satellite dish, which doesn't get any local channels or standard networks, but does pick up the feeds from Denver. It's one of those old giant ones.

ShyLurkerGuy
Okay, after tonight's episode of Vanished, I've got an early theory about what's happening. For those who care, I'll put this in a
box...
My guess is that Sara/Nicky's got multiple personalities that she's unaware of and orchestrated her own kidnapping the way "Tyler Durden" organized Fight Club.
Why am I watching this badly written, really badly dialogued show? I'm guessing laziness and boredom from a case of the Mondays. And I'm curious to see if and how they'll write out Brian Kinney... er... Agent Kelton from what-passes-for-a-story.

Just popping in to show some love for Wentworth Miller and Prison Break.

Mostly for Wentworth Miller.
So far, I am liking that they killed off Veronica, played by the energy sucking Robin Tunney. Sorry about Russian mob guy, he was entertaining. New Terrance, old Terrance... whatevah. I didn't even know he was being played by a different guy until I read about it.

OMG - Hackers! Good movie, Guy. Matthew Lillard was in that. Crash and burn... that was awesome.

OK, so "Smith" was of the suck. Cross one hour of TV off my list.

So I watched "Jericho" tonight. Meh. I'll watch a couple more episodes, but, you know...it didn't impress me at all. Too many characters, and it seems they're trying to be all, like...Losty, but without the things that make Lost great.

I mean, damn Gina, they're already plugging "Jericho: The Other Survivors," which apparently you can watch on the web, but seriously. The survivors we know about watched a mushroom cloud in the distance, it's not like anything exciting happened to them personally. Oh, except some school bus ran over a deer (and, p.s., they used the fakest looking dead deer carcass I've ever seen. I mean, I literally laughed out loud when I saw it laying under the tires), and there was a little drama there (TRITE!). Oh, and some escaped convicts, that part looked semi-interesting, but not really.

Oh, and another thing that bugged me. Some pretty blonde chick (who teaches high school on the show, and let me tell you, looking the way she did and knowing high school boys, that scenario is IMplausible, unless they're setting up some future "I fucked one of my students" scenario). But I digress.

Ok, so some pretty blonde chick has to drive to the airport to pick up her husband, right?. Apparently she missed the mushroom cloud, the power going out, the radio being dead, no cell phone reception...you know...all the things you expect when there's a nuclear attack. Yeah, so she missed all the warning signs, left to go pick up her husband, and didn't realize anything was wrong until she was driving on down the road and ran over a bunch of dead birds. It was really stupid.

Oh, and ANOTHER thing that bugged me. So, everyone is looting the gas station, right? No, not the grocery store, the gas station. No one was at the grocery store, except the old lady who owns it and her little helper, who she thought was stealing from her, but really he was just there to like, help her put stuff in the ice bin so it didn't spoil. Oh, and his mom died while leaving him a phone message. Anyway.

So everyone is looting the gas station. Because there's been a nuclear attack, and people want gas and slushies and overpriced cheese nips and cigarettes. So they're looting the gas station, because they're in survival mode, and then some stupid drama happens, and the mayor arrives and makes a speech, and then everyone just goes home. Uh...I'm sorry. There's been a nuclear attack. Fuck you, Mr. Mayor, I'm getting gas, slushies, cheese nips, and cigarettes, because unlike the rest of the town, I plan on surviving this shit.

Which reminds me of something else that bugs me. Ok, so, apparently Jericho is a small town, because like, everyone knows the Mayor, and his opponent. I know my mayors name, but I've never met her, so like, if she was trying to stop me from looting a gas station, I'd be all like "Whatever you crazy bitch, I'm leaving with these Marlboro's." So, yeah, Jericho's a small town. The grocery store is a mom and pop joint (without the pop). It's a small town, you get it, right? And yet...they have an ambulance, which means they must have a hospital. And if they have a hospital, then it can't be that small right? And that means there's a Kroger or Safeway or Walmart or something, not some bullshit Mom's Grocery Store. And that means that no one knows who the fuck the mayor is. So give me my damn cigarettes and my slushie.

OH! And I thought of ANOTHER thing that bugged the fuck out of me, almost more than everything else combined. Ok, so Skeet Ulrich is all being the hero, saving the busload of kids that got in a wreck after running over a deer. He's all like, saving them and stuff, but the bus is on empty, gas-wise. They were coming back from a fucking field trip to Who-The-Fuck-Cares, and the bus was on E. And the only adult present, other than the bus driver who died after running over the deer (I don't know why he died, I mean, they showed the fake dead deer under the tire, it's not like it went through the windshield. It went under the tire) is a school teacher with a broken leg. There are like, 20 kids on the bus. And they're like...7-10 years of age. And they only have 1 chaperone. BUT THAT ISN'T EVEN THE WORST PART!

No, the worst part is, Skeet Ulrich is driving them back to town (in a bus that's on Empty because they were coming back from a field trip with children, and god knows no one wants to make sure there's enough gas in the bus beforehand) and Skeet is all fucked up from his own car wreck, and the schoolteacher has a broken leg. So she tells the kids "Look, if the bus stops, you kids will have to get out and walk to town and get help." And the kids are all like "We don't know where we are." And Skeet is all like "Turn left at the stop sign." And fat glasses kid says "I don't know which is my left."

They're 7-10 years old. And they don't know which fucking way is left.

So yeah, the show sucked, don't bother.

Do Not Watch List:

Smith
Jericho

Thanks Tsy and jak.

Now on to more important topics. Did you see DWTS? Viveca A. Fox? Girlfriend is all up in the botox. Her face did not move. At all. And I think the boobage is new. The girls were standing at attention and ready for shore leave. The whole thing made me want to watch Brazil again.

Now for my sad confession. I once got a backrub from Tom Bergeron and I have the photo to prove it. <hangs head in shame and leaves the board>.
Minxy
Well, that's another hour freed up on the ol' tivo! Thanks Jak! If only the show was as good as your review!

Vivica's lips looked like she used a DIY collagen kit! Bleh!!
Haunted Rain
Smith - blah. Didn't even watch the whole ep.

Jericho - loves it! I loves me a good post-apocalyptic drama. I think this may fill the void left by Jeremiah. Yeah, it's a little sappy, but this is network TV, so it's gotta suck a little. That's the rule.
Now if they could just get some zombies or some supernatural stuff going on... that would make it perfect!
What I hated - dorky little brother.
What I loved - Skeet Ulrich. I'm totally going to have sex with him! He hasn't been this hot since Scream.
I wonder how long it will be before they cancel Jericho?

I'm ready for Supernatural now. Bring on Jensen Ackles already! I decided a long time ago (Dark Angel) that I was going to have sex with him!

*Yeah, elizabethann, spill!! Tell us more about this... backrub.*
AnnieMoon
I really liked Jericho a lot. It wasn't perfect by any means but I love the premise and it had enough elements that I enjoyed to keep me tuning in for at least several more episodes.

Hey, I wanna hear about Tom Bergeron. Who knew elizabethann was such a celebrity stalker?

Tom Bergeron is the least of my stalkings. Being a political type up heah in New Hamstah, I get to meet all the polls and all of the celebrities who love them. The most recent was Paul Newman. I got to tell him how much I loved his lemonade.

One of the most interesting was Ron Silver (aka Bruno - West Wing). My BFF Bill and I got to chauffeur him around the state during the 2000 Primary. Interesting dude and even more interesting former model girlfriend. By the end of the weekend she was giving me beauty tips and he was teasing me because I loved him in Garbo Talks.

Now Tom Bergeron.. He was the host of an American Cancer Society gala in Boston, back when I lived in Massachusetts. I had just spent the weekend cross country skiing for the first time. Are you with me? He asked if I was sore and I pointed to my pinkie finger and told him that was the only part of my body not in pain. So, as the obligatory pictures were being taken, the started massaging my neck and back. He said we'd be the only ones who would know. When the picture was finally delivered there he and I were grinning like idiots.

In the next installment of elizabethann Celebrity Stalker... my meeting with Eugene McCarthy and the hijinks that ensue.
MrsGryn
Heh! I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Anyone else excited about the returns of The Office, Grey's Anatomy and CSI tonight? I love all three shows and they all had fantastic season finales, so I can't wait until tonight. And then next week Supernatural will be added to the Thursdays at 9:00 pm mix. My DVR is going to have a meltdown.

Cannot WAIT for tonight's Grey's return!!! I'm kinda obsessed with the show, not scary obsessed, really, not at all. According to the Grey's writers blog, tonight's episode is "a reward for hardcore fans". Yay I get a reward!!!! 'Bout time after traumatizing me with Denny's death!! Sigh.....Denny's dead......sniff, sniff.....

I love The Office so much, I would marry it AND have it's babies. It's competing with Survivor though, so.... Well, Mom has TiVo, so I can still watch it.

I also love Grey's Anatomy, and I was THRILLED when Denny kicked the bucket. I was like "Die! Die already! Free up Hot Doctor Chick so she can get it on with Hot Doctor Asshole Guy!" Also, I hate Dr McDreamy and I hate Meredith. Also, I hate George's girlfriend. I'm secretly in love with George, but in a platonic way, and I secretly pretend I'm Christina and Izzie's love child. Also, I feel bad for McDreamy's wife, what's her name. I like her too.

Thank you! I was beginning to think I was the only one who thought McNotDreamy and MehMeredith are so not sexy and toally boring. blech I did cry when Denny died but it was because Izzie played the scene so well, I'm glad she's free to be something other than love struck. Now give me more Christina, the old Christina, the one with the mouth and no soul, yeah, I love her! If George was in his fifties, I'd date him. Would someone please wipe that kitten-gunk out of Meredith's eyes, it's making me sick to see all the weepy icky new-born kitten eye look she has. I had hopes for George's girlfriend, but the boring, oh I'm a big girl so I am going to hate all you skinny girls and be a bitch thing is tiresome.

Y'all are definitely not the only ones. Meredith is a stupid, whiny, self-absorbed whore and Derek is a passive-aggressive, manipulative dicksmack. I want them both to be eaten by rabid weasels.

Oh, god. I just realized. Derek and Meredith = Booger and Scrubika. At least Patrick Dempsey is hot. And at least Derek and Meredith have the excuse of being fictional.

George and Izzie are my favorite characters (and my sekrit favorite 'ship), followed closely by Bailey, Addison and Burke. I...actually don't like Cristina all that much. *ducks* I love Sandra Oh but Cristina often works my last nerve, except when she's smacking down McDickhead.

You took the words right out of my mouth Annie. McDreamy is McStoopid. Addison is so much better than Meredith, in every way. Although I might be one of the only people here who actually likes George's girfriend. I thinks she very attractive, and kinda sweet.

Also, it was good to see Steve Harris from The Practice on the show last night. He's one of my favorite actors and I wish he was a part of the cast.

I just got a chance to get caught up on the Wed/Thurs. tv line-up (damn out of town conferences) so I know I'm a little late to the party. I think I'll give Jericho another few episodes purely because I love me some "end of the world" scenarios, but so far, it's not really doing it for me. It was definitely rushed and a little contrived and I agree with Haunted Rain that it definitely needs some zombies or vampires or something.

As for Grey's, I think Meredith is so butt-assed ugly I can hardly watch her on tv PLUS she has the personality of a whiney baby so I really can't stand her. But, I cried myself silly every.single.time Izzy came on the screen. For some reason, watching her lay on the bathroom floor in her prom dress just broke me up.

The Office is still hilarious and ER was pretty good. The whole storyline with Abby made me cry a lot too. So basically, I'm a sobbing mess. Thanks Thursday night tv!

P.S. I'd totally vote for jak!

NBC's Heroes had better pick up the pace for the 2nd episode, 'coz that premiere nearly put me to sleep. And I really want to like this show. Once again, a show with a scifi/speculative fiction framework that probably would have benefitted from a 2hr series premiere. If it takes itself too seriously, I don't see it lasting long. Right now, the cliffhanger is the reason I'll watch ep2 and sadly not the characters yet. At least it's not as lame as Queer as 24... er... Vanished on Fox.

And was that Dynasty's Steven Carrington as the series' big bad (or at least a major agent of the big bad)?
MrsGryn
You got me curious, SLuG, so I looked it up. The glasses guy is played by Jack Coleman.

The pilot was pretty slow, but for me it picked up towards the end. The problem as I saw it was a too-choppy premise. You just get into one story and it pops over to the next. Well, I wasn't really interested in the cheerleader until "Dad" showed up. Nor in Nurseboy until his brother caught him. Loved the Japanese guy and I'm interested in following the tortured artist - for awhile. Single mom was way too predictable.

SUPER HIRO !! (He's so this show's "Marshall")

Is it wrong that I want SingleMomNiki killed off immediately so her genius son can join the team?

I didn't mind the pace of the show - it definitely sped up over the last 15 minutes. I wish NBC hadn't given away the cliff-hanger by showing the previews.

I'm looking forward to Greg Grunberg joining the show next week; he has always portrayed my Sean/Weiss/Nick/DeadPilot TV character-crush. That being said....Sendhil Ramamurthy as Mohinder could very well take his place....I'll be having many a mad-scientist fantasy over the course of this TV season.

ETA: One quick afterthought - was it just me, or did it bug the hell out of you as the subtitles jumped all over the screen? I'm sure their intent was to have the conversation appear like cartoon balloons, but dayum....my old eyes couldn't keep up. Note: must learn Japanese before next Monday.

I watched Jericho, although I knew better.

Uaintjak nailed it perfectly and I'm glad to see that it inspired two (!) rants by him. Therefore it was not an entire waste.

I'm always disappointed in post-apoclyptic dramas; they seem to attract bad acting, bad writing, stereotypical characters AND situations. Maybe that was all that was left over after the bomb hit.

Jericho = bomb.

The Office? Hilarious! Oscar's coming out was the crazy mix of humor and painful social situation that I love best about the show. I'm also interested to see how the Stamford office storyline develops.

I'm on board with Heroes. That was not at all a sucky pilot like I'd feared it was going to be. I was fine with the subtitles all over the place, though Hiro needs to go somewhere and die because he's already driving me up a wall.

The pilot did come through with some timing issues, but they had to cut at least one character out of it to trim it down so I think that's where the choppiness came from.

Meanwhile, I'm being hella dissapointed by "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip." Sorkin and Schlamme are using the same titles as "West Wing", same cast as "West Wing" and half the freaking dialogue is ripped from "West Wing." Boys! New show means new ideas! Get some!

I was so bored with Studio 60 that I forgot it was on and missed the ending.

I LOVE Studio 60!! I don't mind them using the same credits and titles - makes me miss WW a little less. <sniffle>

I love Bradley Whitford and Matthew Perry together on this show - and the only similarity I find in the dialogue is the quick-paced snappy snarkiness, which I loved in WW, and which is how Sorkin writes. That and the Gilbert/Sullivan love.

I hope I'm not the only one who loves it, or it won't last!
AnnieMoon
Nope, I love Studio 60. So far, it's my favorite new show of the season and I'm thrilled there's another Aaron Sorkin show on TV. I also really like Jericho and can't wait to see how it develops. As for Heroes, I liked some elements of the pilot but as a whole it felt quite disjointed and chaotic, and not in a particularly compelling way.
elizabethann
I love Studio 60. I've noted a couple of references to Friends and WW. Last night Danny (same name as Timothy Busfield's character on WW) asked Matt "Could you BE any.. something".

I watched Heroes while I was cooking and thought it was disjointed because I kept popping back and forth between the kitchen and the living room. We'll see what happens next Monday. It's not like there's anything more compelling scheduled in that time slot.
