This thread replaces the House Analysis and General Discussion threads, since both carry similar themes. More about the board's reorganization can be found

Thank you! I wasn't sure if there was a difference between Gen Discussion and House Analysis. Glad there's only one now.
Howie is making me mad in his attack on Nak. It's ridiculous! I think he thinks he needs to recreate the same crap he did last year, when there was a reason for him to go off on Busto. What has Nak done to him but not laugh at his jokes, and MAYBE talk behind his back--something they're all guilty of? What's most upsetting is you know he her different appearance (less typically beautiful) is probably what bothers him the most.
Howie, cut it out. I do not find it amusing. Snooky has spoken.

What's with the no knives? Is BB that worried or are they trying to make the Hammies scared?
I'm fairly certain that's because of the Justin incident in S2. And didn't Nicole threaten to stab Will later that season, too? Not that anyone took that seriously, most of all Will.
Anyway, it's dumb, since the hamsters could just as easily electrocute each other. Or smother somebody while they're sleeping. George could scare them to death by getting naked.
But haven't they had knives since Justin/S2? Maybe it's just one of those details that's eluded me.
And yes, merging these two threads was a good idea. Makes sense.

Hi - I posted this theory in one of my recaps today and as I watch Dani, James and Janey upstairs at the chess board I am thinking more about it. I'm thinking that BB is going to maybe turn off the air conditioning downstairs and crank up the heat - keeping with the hell and flames and color scheme theme downstairs. Upstairs at HOH is ice blue color and has snowflakes over the stairs. Keeps with the heaven and hell, good versus evil theme. Maybe HOH (upstairs) will be off limits for everyone but HOH?....Either this, or it's just a color scheme....
Just wanted to throw this possible twist out there...do I win anything if I'm right????
....and yeah, TMKR - how sad that ChG didn't know where he was going. Lordy, lordy....

Sheesh, half the people in this house have no concept of playing the 'game' besides winning competitions. They dont' realize winning them is meaningless unless you shore up your decisions with allies and floaters.

Interesting that all the focus is on the ex-BB6 players... an alliance comprising of only four out of fourteen players. Plus, here's the dirty little secret: none of the four of them is really a phenomenal player. MAYBE Janelle, but I suspect that over the long haul, her habit of being blunt will get her in trouble as it did Danielle, Diane, and Alison. Kaysar tends to be myopic in his gameplay: intense focus on someone like Will, get blindsided by someone, like, Diane. Howie hasn't caught on that the Hurricane Howie thing was only funny because April was lame as hell and the audience didn't like her, and if he targets Nakomis (who I must assume was second only to Janelle in terms of female America's choice votes) he's going to look like an ass. James talks a good game, but when his ass is on the line, he tends to panic and do stupid things.
Here are the players I have my eyes on:
Jase. I don't think anyone has caught on to how well he's playing so far. I think he has a definite chance to be overlooked.
Boogie. Yeah, I know, it sucks, but he's probably going to get overlooked being as he's not a huge physical threat of the men, and he's playing pretty smart so far. Plus, he has Will as a human shield.
Diane. She can do major damage, and isn't on anyone's radar yet.
Erika. She's VERY under the radar. I frequently forget she's even there.
Marcellas. Again, well liked by almost everyone, not seen as a huge threat.
Nakomis. The best player never to win, and, unlike Danielle, doesn't draw attention to herself. As long as Howie doesn't win HOH, she's probably safe for a while.

Yup, I truly believe if they don't get her out now, they never will.
Okay, I just read at Hamsterwatch that Kaysar told Janelle they need to vote out Danielle but not tell Marcellus. Please, someone tell me this didn't happen? This is why I want Kaysar gone. He constantly loses the big picture (Danielle might come after them, Alison absolutely will, so dump Ali), and his strategy is just so much ridiculously overblown conspiracy theories and soundbytes. It's like he's annoyed that shit happened tonight without him so he's got to stick his nose in and pretend that he's in charge. He's gonna tell Mike and Will, he wants to test Marcellus, etc. And I feel like the more he talks the more he makes Janelle doubt herself. She needs to quit with these late-night strategy sessions with him. Nothing worthwhile is ever discussed and in the end they just rob her of a few hours of sleep.

Actually, I heard that myself this morning...but since it was pre-coffee I convinced myself I had misunderstood him (Yeah, yeah, I remembered the rewind feature on RealPlayer after I closed the feeds). I dismissed it because his later conversation moved back to booting Alison.
It was 4:30am when the discussion happened...and, as my momma always told me, nothing good happens after 2am. Kaysar was waivering so much during the conversation, not making much sense at all, I'm sure his choice will change another 10 times before the voting takes place.

I actually voted for Danielle to go back in the house and I'd like her to stay around a little longer - especially over Allison. However, I kind of like the fact that I can't figure out who the house is going to evict. I hate it when everyone in the house knows who is going and they don't even bother trying to campaign. At least Thursday's show will be interesting.

My ideal scenario would be everyone flipping their votes, except for George and maybe Will and Boogie. Seeing the smug draining from those faces would be priceless. And I say this as someone who adores Will, but still, I almost think he needs to be mildly bamboozled just to get his head in the game and away from his endless plugging.
From George's thread....
One thing that is bugging me.... why does it seem that Diane and Janelle think they can't talk to each other? The swing votes seem to be Marci, George and maybe Erica (only because Jase can't vote or I think they would all be working him too). I actually understand not going to Mike and Will (though Kaysar and Howie have tried) but why not make some moves on Diane and Nak?

If that house is anything like mine, getting the upstairs to cool off is the problem (because heat rises). They'd need separate AC systems for each floor, so unless they thought of that, it may not work to try different temps for each floor. But it's a good thought. We need to see the hammies suffer.
They think they're going to suffer by eating bugs, which has its own appeal.
Chicken George bugs me. I think he thinks he's funnier than he is. It weirds me out how he fits in so poorly. This is a social game, and it's painful to watch him be looked down on by the other hammies. Not that he might not deserve it--I'm remembering why I grew to hate him in Season 1.
QUOTE

I know!! Last night on the feeds, Janelle was asking Erika how Chicken George was voting, and Erika said she'd go ask him. Janie said she'd ask Danielle to go talk to him. I asked, has Janie ever even spolen to CG? She sure wants him out--because of his great strategy? I don't think so. Either it's because he's an easy target that will anger no one, or because she doesn't like the old fat guy, kind of like how Howie doesn't like the weird goth girl. Isn't Janie's job being a hotess, probably for guys who look a lot like Chicken George (except they have money)? Why doesn't she butter him up, play nice, give him the attention he so desperately craves, and get him on to her side for the time being?
I still love my S6ers, but if they're not careful, they'll be this year's new fiends.
Kaysar, by the way, my fave, is playing a great game so far, late night strategy talks not withstanding. He's not top nominee choice for anyone at this pont, even those going after the S6. They think he has no game. I had a feeling that would work in his favor. I think he'll kick it into gear when he has to, but right now he's smart to lay low.
There's no way they're going to show even a fraction of all the stuff that's been going on in the house this past week on Thursday's live show. We really needed a Saturday (now Sunday) show.

I had a dream last night that the housemates had to pick one item in the house to auction on ebay, and they got to see what the bids were at, and the money was their food budget for the next week. It was awesome and entertaining.
Anything to liven up the house. Maybe the producers have someone paid to skim the board. Hey, Skimmer, suggest the idea. It would be totally awesome.
Unless it was Howie's underwear. Well, then they'd all starve. That would be more awesome.
Maybe there could be two teams, each with something on ebay, and whoever's thing went for more money got the combined money for food, and the other team got stale rice cakes and non-fat cheese spread for a week.

it's pretty clear by now that all the rats swam from the sinking ship that was "Save Allison's Nose" and it's gonna be a landslide vote...it became pretty obvious last night when Marcellus promised to vote with Janelle and camped out in the HOH room that the best vote anyone could hope for was a 5-5 tie. When info got around that Janelle had the final say in a tie, then no one was willing to take a chance on being on the wrong side of Janelle's tie-breaker. Kudos to Erika for calling it right and for, more-or-less, alerting Janelle and the S6 people that they were walking into an ambush. Without Erika's involvement, I don't think S6 realized the vote was going to go against them.
So, does this prove the wrath of a woman (Erika) is greater than the wrath of a gay man (Marcellus)?

Yuppers, she really impressed me. Janie was content to stay in the HOH and assume they had the votes, but Erika was out there talking with everyone and knew exactly who was planning what. She also knew how the HGs would respond--they're such wusses, none of them want to risk not being on the "right" side, so they caved (except for Nak, who apparently didn't get the memo in time).

It seems like Erika is a subtle yet masterful player.
I really like how she sees the season six people as players she can work with. It's very unlikely that season six will win enough competitions that they won't be targeted at some point.
When one of them (hopefully Howie) gets evicted, Erika is in a good position to step in and be their new 4th. Marci could fill that spot as well, but after he got burned in his season, I'm not sure he'll totally trust anyone who has loyalties to someone else in the house.

It sounds like Marci and Erika are working to position themselves with Kaysar and Janey, and to ditch Howie and most especially James. I'm guessing they feel they can trust Kay and Janey, while Howie isn't much of an asset, and James, well...he'll do anything to keep himself in the house.

I feel exactly the same, zgeist. One big problem I have with Casper (love the name, and the Progeria handle, too!!) and Progeria is that they keep breaking the fourth wall, and it's really pissing me off. Will did it again on the show last night, saying their slip-n-slide antics was such hot entertainment for us. It's even worse on the feeds. Casper, we didn't hire you as a professional actor and entertainer, your schtick is OLD. You're supposed to be a frikkin' hamster, so act like it! We don't need to be told you and Booger are coming up with all sorts of cool things to entertain us. I hate that fake crap. Both of them did the same thing in Season 2, with Booger constantly saying what would make "good TV". We used to call it "Doog TV," Because it was so pathetic and annoying.
Last night they were whining because BB got after Casper for breaking the furniture (unlike real ghosts, he doesn't drift through furniture). Will was doing it for fun, because he was bored. They bitched and bitched about it, said the S6ers think it's OK to be boring. Booger said he would pay for anything they broke, but that's hardly the point. And Booger's long-winded stories about his brushes with fame as SO off-putting--only serving to remind me what famehos most of these people are. Their disdain for the Internet people hardly endears me to them, either.
Earlier in the week, Boogtard was recounting how amazing their whipped cream and strawberry hot tub game was in the first week of S2. I vaguely remember that. It was really junior high. You sit in the hot tub boy-girl-boy-girl, then spray whipped cream somewhere on your body and the next person has to lick it off. Yeah, I'm sure Janie would love to have George lick whipped cream off her ass. But it shows where Boogtard's mind is--that's what he thinks makes for a rockin' good show for us at home.

Not sure if this should go here. Mods feel free to move it as necessary.
My local newspaper had an article on pocket pets. Here's what they wrote about hamsters.
lifespan: 2- 3 years (Booger must be an anomaly)
cost: $8.99 - $19.99 (or the opportunity to be on television)
pros: They're cute. Hamsters are loners, so you will only need one. (Too bad we wound up with a houseful)
cons: Hamsters are nocturnal. Keep the cage out of your bedroom so their activity (and squeeky exercise wheel) won't keep you awake. Hamsters have a tendency to bite when frightened or mishandled. (I'm just transcribing here folks.)
housing: A 10 gallon aquarium with a screened lid or a plastic cage works well. Choose aspen shavings, shredded paper or pelleted bedding for the cage bottom. Use paper towel for nesting material. Tidy the cage each day; wash it and add new bedding once a week. (Preferably after an eviction.)
food: Commercial hamster mixes should be the primary food source. Every two or three days, give your pet fresh fruit and vegetables. Do not give your hamster raw kidney beans, onions, raw potato, rhubarb or anything sugary. And don't forget the water. (Or beer, or wine... )
did you know?: Hamsters like to fill their cheek pouches with food and the bury it later.

OK - Flames this long only happened during competitions last year and I, at least, have assumed the HOH comp would be a live one tonight. So, here are the questions that are running through my mind:
1. Is this just an elaborate shut down for house cleaning or is something else going on?
my take is that they showed the house-cleaning before so there is something else going on here
2. Is the competition so involved that it's going to take all afternoon for the hammies to practice for it or is there some other angle - like a former houseguest appearance in the HOH comp that the producers don't want leaked out?
3. Are the producers so worried about behavior on the live show that they are undergoing an extreme threat/rehearsel situation?
4. Have they decided Hammies are untrustworthy to the point that they are going to pre-tape all of the show other than the actual HOH comp itself to make sure someone doesn't say or do something that will cause problems?
5. Having a "come-to-jesus" meeting about hammie behaviors at this early point to see if they can scare hammies into respecting the PA's and the PA instructions.
I do find it a little puzzling to be down this long at this point of a day on a show day but maybe I'm just forgetting similar situations in the past.
as for the flame quiz - I'll give 'em points for at least trying to make an extended feed shutdown better than endless hours of nothing but flame and theme song...it won't appease that many people for that long but it was better than just hours and hours of bubbles with no communication on a couple of occasions last year.

I get the point, but thats like saying "Hey last time I was robbed and beaten I had to look at a wall, this time I was allowed to watch Hee-Haw reruns, so it was MUCH better!"
Point is, Real uses the "Watch em 24/7!!" tagline about 30 times on their website as a marketing tool to sell the feeds. It's even called the "Big Brother 24/7" subscription. That isn't the same thing as "Watch em 24/7, except when ya can't watch em at all!!!"
I get that they have to shut down the feeds at certain times. But if they are going to market them as 24/7 it should be 24/7. IMO they should leave off the 24/7 reference and just sell it as 'Live Feeds'. Then there would be no 'misleading advertising' (some would argue it even borders on fraud, you can't promise one thing then deliver another, no matter what disclaimer you present)

pros: They're cute. Hamsters are loners, so you will only need one. (Too bad we wound up with a houseful)
And if you have more than one in a cage, they fight, often to the death! Sound familiar?
I've owned two hamsters as an adult, me and my son, that is (Well, you know who ends up taking care of their children's pets).

did you know?: Hamsters like to fill their cheek pouches with food and the bury it later.
I honestly think the same mentality is driving them to overeat constantly. They're stuffing their cheeks and plan to eat it later when BB puts them on some sort of food restriction. Unfortunately, they don't realize they aren't REAL hamsters, so they're only going to make themselves FAT.
