Okay, so the only Mole I ever watched was the Celebrity Mole and I really liked it so I'll be giving it a look this year. Let's see, BB in Feb, Beauty and the Geek in March, the Mole at some point, that Scott Baio show and I'm considering checking out American Idol for the first time ever. I've been saying for years that I hate reality TV but I think that makes up the majority of what I watch.

Fox has been hyping the crap out of that Sarah Chronicles during the Giants game this evening, so maybe I'll check that out. Although I'm already going into it with a negative attitude so there better be some good action and/or skin in it if they want me to keep watching.

This writers strike really has to end soon. I miss Jim and Pam.

My son-in-law asked me to DVR the Sarah Chronicles, haven't watched it yet....but that was during the Cowboys game. Living in Cowboys land here in southern New Mexico, I had to correct that.

The Mole was when Anderson Cooper's brilliant snarkiness came to shine under the bright lights of camera crews in reality television. He. Was. AWEsome. But even without him, the Mole was just a smart and interesting game. I think you'll really like it, Magpie, and anyone else who never saw it, give it a chance! If they haven't dumbed it down too much, it's probably the kind of thing HTers would really enjoy. My favorite part was always the last episode, when you found out how "the mole" got their instructions and reacted to different aspects of their role in the game. That's why I loved the first season... I thought the mole was obvious after a while, but some people were truly still befuddled and it was interesting to watch that person's reactions after I figured out who it was.

I think this is part of FOX's strike plan. They're rolling out a few new series, they stockpiled more already done series than other networks and they have American Idol. I think they are really hoping to run some of the other networks into the ground, especially NBC and ABC. And it might succeed at that. I think American Gladiators is going to start slowly declining in the ratings.

I just saw a promo for the new ABC mid-season show Eli Stone which will star the sexy Jonny Lee Miller (Trainspotting, Hackers) as the titular character (<beavis>heh, titular, heh</butthead>).

Right now from the promo, it's looking like Wonderfalls meets Boston Legal with generous helpings of shirtless Jonny.

I'm not sure what kind of audience will tune in considering ABC has scheduled it after Lost.

Oh, and to ditto life: HT chat and drinks are absolute pre-requisites for viewing American Idol.

Oh Sick Boy. Yum. Except where you crapped on yourself.

I don't know if we're allowed to plug another website here (if not, I apologize to the mods in advance). There's an excellent article on Reality News Online about the return of The Mole. Apparently, there was an issue with the production/broadcast rights with a Belgian company that was finally resolved recently. ABC claims that the plan was always to bring the show back. Riiiiight.

Anyway, the non-celebrity versions of The Mole were awesome. The tasks were really difficult and the locations were great. Mole 2 (with 14 players) was, in my opinion, one of the most difficult reality shows created. The final three players were physically and emotionally exhausted at the end.

I hope that, if the next season does well, Celebrity Mole: Yucatan and Mole 2 will finally be released on DVD.

I liked The Mole until it went into celebrity D-List edition. Kathy Griffin makes me want to poke my ears until they bleed so I don't have to accidently hear her whining because that bitch is omnipresent on the TV.

Anderson Cooper (drool) will be missed, but he's a "serious journalist" now so I don't think he would even take calls from the producers of The Mole. Someone mentioned a few posts back that they enjoyed that fact that the tasks were so much harder than what we see on other reality shows and I agree. I think TAR should really step it up more and have those racers scrambling around to find things with more cryptic clues, that maybe rely on some knowledge of history or other cultures. That will weed out the "Jens" in a hurry.

Eli Stone looks promising. I need to insert another (drool) for Sick Boy. But more importantly, Lost is back on the same night but with only 8 episodes. Boo.

I have been watching Cashmere Mafia, mainly because there is nothing else on that is not a repeat. It is a complete rehash of SATC, except the women are married and rich. I love Miranda Otto sinply for the fact that she had a minor role in the LOTR movies. Bonnie Summerville is adorable, but Lucy Liu is just so "act-y", if you guys know what I mean. I like watching actors who meld into their characters, not watching actors and thinking to myself, "boy, they're really acting". I know it's the same producer as SATC who is making this show, but it just seems to be futile attempts to capture his old magic.

Why can't Hollywood/TVland understand that they can't keep making Xerox copies of shows that were huge hits. The copies are never as sharp as the originals. How about investing all that effort into new ideas? I had high hopes for shows like Journeyman and Dirty Sexy Money. Here's to hoping they make it through the WGA strike.

Gah! I need some sciprted TV back that is not another crime show. I love my crime shows but they need to be tempered with fluffy fare like Grey's, Chuck, or How I Met Your Mother.

An aside to the Mods- I fear I have veered dangerously off topic in my rambling and I bet that Rookie Mod (I'm looking at you, Jerry) has an itchy trigger finger. I plead insomnia and pharmaceuticals! Ask Tooletta, I will grovel at the slighest PM warning. BB9 needs to be on now so I can channnel my anger and frustration towards those most deserving: famewhores.

Just wanted to say that it's killing me to stay out of the Project Runway thread, but I live in Canada and we're behind (we've just had the SJP episode here), so I don't want to be spoiled. Can't wait to read it later to get everyone's take.

For anyone looking for scripted TV that quite simply ROCKS check out Breaking Bad with Brian Cranston on AMC Sunday nights. We watched the first episode and I loved, loved, loved the manic, desperate chemistry teacher turned meth chemist that Cranston creates with what seems like little effort. Anna Gunn (Mrs. Bullock-Deadwood) does a good job as his pregnant e-Baying wife, and R.J. Mitte nails the role of their handicapped son.

Seriously, if the first episode is anything to go by, this series will be a bright spot in a season of famewhores and pretend athletes. Just picture Cranston cooking meth in an RV wearing just his tightie whities...

Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles rocks. That's all I can say. This show is fantastic. The only thing it's missing is a hot guy as a regular character (I mean one who is not jailbait). It's got action, humor, angsty drama, butt-kicking women, time travel, and robots. I do the cyborg happy dance.

Prison Break is back. There have been threats about other people losing their heads. Seriously, that bitch who works for the company is batshit crazy.

Supernatural is airing some new episodes starting Jan. 31.
I've been watching the Supernatural DVDs, seasons one and two. It has really made me appreciate the show even more. Jensen Ackles is a very talented actor and the whole family thing is quite touching. Plus... demons and stuff. I also got some Supernatural books and comic books. Shut up.

In other important TV news, I have moved David Boreanaz down the list to be my #3 TV Boyfriend. Sorry, David. Don't worry, you might be able to work your way back up.
Went Miller has taken the #2 spot.
I put Jensen Ackles in the #1 spot. He is blazingly hot. Blazingly. Hot.
I may take on a fourth. I'm thinking Nathan Fillion. Or maybe Jared Padalecki (who is surprisingly steamy in still photographs.)

I love how at least once a season, they make an in-joke about the brothers being a couple (tho Jared's not really my type). Jensen was the main reason I was crushed that Dark Angel got cancelled.

Did anyone catch the episode (I think they just rebroadcast it) that Harmony from Buffy became a newbie Winchester-verse vampire? It was OK, but just I kept seeing Harmony despite the different vamp makeup.

Now I thought I would love seeing Jensen in anything, but his look (YouTube clip)in the indie comedy Ten Inch Hero actually has me ambivalent. Though he does rock that kilt. And while I can't stop any innuendoes that may cross your mind, the movie title refers to the characters working in a sandwich shop.

Oh, and I'm getting old coz it took me until my third watching of the pilot episode of Sarah Connor to figure out who Summer Glau's cyborg is named after.

ETA More bad news, Journeyman fans: according to theFutonCritic.com, series creator and exec producer Kevin Falls had his contract terminated on Jan14. Too bad NBC isn't following the other networks leads and airing reruns of it's 1hour shows, coz Journeyman deserves it.
