So am I right that the final votes revealed were 4 -2? I can't remember who cast the last vote, because I really don't care all that much, but I do wonder if America's vote tipped the scale.

Honestly, it seemed to me that Dick didn't want to give Eric his props for convincing everyone to save Dick's hiney but I'll be nice and chalk it up to shock. It was my opinion that Dick was quite happy to give Eric his props. He said that "here he thought it was some great strategy on his part," and laughed his ass off about it. I also think at that moment, he had just realized how much America loved him and was genuinely shocked and at a loss for words, which is a foreign concept for us I know (Dick being at a loss for words). I thought he was a gracious winner. And Dani a gracious runner up. They both just seemed so happy to get the hell out of there. |

So, I have to tolerate Dick winning, AND have to watch Mike Muir cheering him on without so much as busting out a single "You wouldn't know what crazy was if Charles Manson was eating Fruit Loops on your front porch?"
I'll use my bitterness to warm myself until next summer. Honestly, out of those two the correct person won. And that's the best I can say about the outcome. And can I just ask why Julie was trying so very, VERY hard to push Dick's mom into saying that CBS brought their family back together? They've been trying to cram that story down our throat all summer. Couldn't they just let it lie for one episode? |

Oh my, what must Amber have thought when Eric turned to her and Dustin and said "I wanted to keep you...America made me vote you out" ?? And all this time she just knew she was Americas favorite! She truly did look dumbstruck ...but then again....she pretty much always looks that way....

Ya' know....I thought maybe the passgae fo some time would make me view the evictees differently, and I might actually like some of them....WRONG!
They really are quite the same "in real life" as they were in the house.... Dustin smug, Amber stupid, Eric annoying, Jessica full of herself, Jen being Jen, Jameka the moral compass...and last, but not least....Zach...I think I'll miss him most of all. I wonder what's been told to them about why they have not been on The Early Show and Housecalls. One thing I really hope, is that someone sits Amber down, and tells her the truth, and ponies up all the articles, and tapes of the newscasts that have shown her for the biggoted anti-semite she is. I'll have to admit, that final vote surprised me. I was very much of the opinion that Daniele had the game sewn up going into the broadcast tonight due to her being a challenge hog and the lesser of two evils, and that Dick would probably fall short on the jury vote, and this is the first season where my guess for the final vote was COMPLETELY off.
So what happened? First of all, I think Daniele was planning to coast on charm. She knew her dad had been an ass, and she didn't fight to defend herself very hard in the jury questioning. Not only that, but her dad was very forthright in terms of what he did and how he did it. This was not a jury that was full of "I want a good person to win" types, this was a jury that was pissed off at both of them and was looking for strategy. Daniele did NOTHING to dissuade the jury of the opinion that Dick was the brains and she was the brawn (yes, even though she weighs like 85 pounds). In my opinion, it was her game to lose, and... she lost it. I don't think it would have taken all that much for her to try and persuade any of Zach, Dustin and Amber to vote for her (although Amber's question made me wonder, it was basically "My question is YOU'RE A WHORE.") Also, Zach, who I had assumed was a shoo-in for her, voted for Dick. But Amber, I think, was the key vote. Season 6's final vote between Vile and Viler basically came down to Howie, and whether Janelle or Rachel had more influence over him. Maggie won because Ivette told Rachel to go screw herself in the farewell message and paid for it with $450K and Rachel and Howie's votes. This season, it came down to the fact that Dustin appeared to have more influence over Amber than Jameka did in terms of the final vote, and I would have figured Amber would be voting self-righteously like Jameka. Overall... Dick winning? Kind of gross, but he did play a good game and convinced the jury that he deserved it more than Daniele, who in my opinion was an exceptional player. I would have preferred to see her win, and think she was probably the superior player of the two, but she couldn't communicate that to the jury and therefore lost. Sadly, Dick is a more acceptable winner to me than any of those on the preceding three seasons (unlike Mike and Maggie, he's fully aware that he's an ass and revels in it, and Drew was just a lame user that coasted on charm.) I am shocked that Zach would have won the spite vote... I didn't know if the jurors actually respected him enough to want him to win. A 6-1 Zach win over Dick would have been an awesomely perverse end to the season, though, wouldn't it? |

With DICK! winning, I'm hopeful we'll get more "older" people in the house, as opposed to nothing but shallow 20somethings. That would be nice, and probably more interesting. Leave it to MrsG to find the one bright spot in a Dick win! Excellent call, and hopefully true. What do you mean? Boogie was old too! Seriously though, I love that Dick won. And I love that Mike won last year. Maggie winning two years ago has almost faded from my memory thanks to the last two seasons - and that's a VERY GOOD thing! Amber's question made me wonder, it was basically "My question is YOU'RE A WHORE." So very true. It's posts like this that make me look forward to posts by Sardonic. As long as they have their memories of the other HGs and can sit around and insult them, they'll be fine together. I didn't get the impression that they have much other than that to talk about with each other, though. I can't help but be a cynic. Dani consistantly told DICK! that she would not split any prize money if she were to win. After she got trashed by the jury, she started cozying up to DICK! Then, on the show, she said that "we won." After 80 days of displaying a highly dysfunctional relationship, I have a tough time believing that Dani magically warmed up to her father for any reason other than to worm some money out of DICK!. I might feel differently if I saw a lick of compassion from Dani. Other than St. Nick, I don't remember her saying one positive thing about any HG. Her comments about other HG's were all hate based. I have no doubt in my mond that if she were to have won, that she would not have given one cent to DICK! I concur with Magpie. Until last night, the only time they bonded was over the bashing of other HG's. A few hours of father/daughter non-trashing conversation at the end of 3 hateful, bile-filled months does not, for one second, make me believe that Dani cares for anyone other than herself. Normally, I would root for a reconciliation. With these two, I seriously could not care less. |

Oh, and Nick sure did look HOT! And that? Was the BEST part of the finale. Considering I actually enjoyed the final 2 and the majority of the season? Nick's hotness still outranks everything else. Pretty impressive, pretty boy. Nick leaving was a turning point for me. Sure he had no game but who cares. I wanted the hotness just a bit longer. Yes it is shallow of me but that is my cross to bear. I could never forgive Eric for campaigning to get Nick out despite what America wanted. He just wanted Jessica to forget what a real man looks like so she in a state of lonliness and despair would look at him. That was also when I started hating Amber. I can't believe how righteous she was when she questioned Dani. Unbelievable. This post has been edited by Botox: Sep 19 2007, 01:17 AM |

For what it's worth, it appears that Real is re-running the live feeds again this year, starting right now. I just flipped them on, and saw Dick making pancakes, the large dinner table, and beds full of sleeping hammies! Good times!

Goodness--I asked in an earlier post who Erika was dating, then I saw Adam from Survivor Cook Islands in the audience last night. I just found out that they are dating. Damn that's weird.
Sorry about going off topic--but I was stunned to see him in the audience last night because why? Then I read somewhere else the reason he was there. It took me a minute to remember his name but he had a great smile and that's what made me notice he was there. This post has been edited by hab: Sep 19 2007, 09:46 AM |

Aaaaaand I'm now going to go give myself a warning for being off-topic. |
