Recap, August 24, 2006:

Hey kids, it’s Big Brother Time. Previously on BB, Howie went out. Janelle was lied to. Boogie won HOH. Janelle fake cried. James and Janelle went up. Janelle won veto and George went up.

Holy crap, it’s Julie Chen. She’s always so excited when it’s her turn to talk. She recaps the recap for us.

James talks to us from the diary room. He thinks everything is still going as planned. He feels safe with the Legion of Doom. He thinks George is a goner and he’ll still be around after tonight. George tells us he’s not gonna campaign for votes. He’s gonna be his normal everyday self. He’s packing his bags and preparing to leave. He figures you may as well have a good time and hope for the best.

James and Danielle in green flowery room. James asks Danielle if she thinks they’ll vote to keep her. Danielle says she’s getting a little concerned about that. She says she’ll talk to them to make sure. James wants to know why she’s getting worried. She says it’s cause she’s always worried.

Out in the backyard now with Danielle and Will. I’m thinking a conversation is coming that Dani won’t like. Will tells her that he has some concerns. She says she has concerns also. Danielle says that James is “tight” and that he’s sticking with the Legion of Doom. Will says he’s afraid that he is also sticking with the “Janelle wins HOH” plan. Will says that the Legion of Doom needs to keep the lines of communication open and Danielle agrees saying that James needs to tell them what he’s talking with Janelle about all the time. Will says that he doesn’t think James will do that. And Danielle shoots this look of surprise at Will. Will says he thinks James is double dipping. Danielle says “Double dipping?” Will says, “You took one chip, you dipped, you took the same chip and you dipped again.” Whoa, sorry about ventured into a less boring TV show there. Sorry. Anyway, James comes outside and they shut up.

Danielle now tells us from the diary room that originally they were putting James up as a pawn but Will is throwing little hints that he may vote against James now. She puts her head down now, not looking into the camera and says, “If Boogie and Will do something and James walks out the door…” Head up, looking to camera, “God help them.” It’s like she channeled David Caruso, that red headed freak. Wow, way to be dramatic and play to the camera Danielle. That, by the way, is why I hate this season. It’s a bunch of famewhores trying to play to an audience and worrying about what makes a good show. You know what makes a good show…Janelle kicking James, that’s was some good shit.

Now it’s Danielle and Erica in the Red Room on the couch. Danielle starts waving her arms around and says how she hates this. Erica replies how with it’s tough one this week. Through this whole conversation, they are talking from two different sides, but none of them realize it. Erica says that she has to decide between two people she doesn’t trust but one of them has more of a chance of winning stuff. She again says how it’s a tough one. She tells Danielle that she understands the allegiance to Danielle that James has but. Danielle interrupts her to say that an earlier veto comp, he put his neck on the line for his alliance. Erica interrupts to point out that it was for only Danielle not for Erica. Erika tells us from the diary room that she doesn’t know what to do. Danielle tells us that Erika probably wants James gone.

As Danielle continues to make her rounds, she is now in the backyard with Janelle. She offers Danielle a truce. Janelle thinks for a few seconds and says, “What, for like a week?” They both agree to it. Janelle tells us that she didn’t know what to say, she was kind of surprised by the offer. She said yes because she has learned in the game, “Be honest to the people that are trying to be honest to you and lie to the enemy.” In the backyard, Danielle says that if you can’t beat them, might was join them. Then she says, “Believe it or not Janelle, I know when people are floaters and they go with power and they cling on to people.” Much like most of America, Janelle says, “Who’s the floater?” But Erica won’t answer. I guess that’s what you do when you form a truce with someone. Janelle tells us in the diary room that she thinks Danielle wants to go after Chilltown next week. Danielle tells Janelle that she’ll take care of some things when she’s HOH and Janelle can take care of some things when she’s HOH. Janelle agrees. Danielle tells us she made the truce with Janelle because they need to separate Chilltown to help her better in the game.

Now we move to James and Janelle in the Yellow room. Janelle is in bed and James comes walking in. James is really just coming in to pretend to friendly to find out if Janelle is gonna vote to keep him. But he also wants to know why they are always at each other. He says that the worst two people from S6 are still there because they don’t get along. James says he thinks Erica is keeping George. He wants to know what Will has said. She says she doesn’t know. Then he asks, “How are you voting?” with this stupid guilty smile on his face. She says, “to keep you” and he thanks her. James tells us that’s he counting on votes from Danielle, Janelle and Will. He says he feels confident, at least as confident as you can feel in the big brother house.

Time for James to make his rounds. He’s outside with Will right now. By the way, that my friends is a guilty conscious. Don’t get me wrong, I can understand someone trying to see who’s voting how, but he’s doing this after they’ve already told him a couple different times that they are keeping him. Anyway, back outside. James wants to know if everything is still as planned, he wants to make sure he’s not gonna end up like Howie.

Cue the Howie flashback. I miss Howie.

Will tells him that he has nothing to worry about and asks him if he’s worried. James says that like normal, paranoia sets in. James says that Danielle is getting worried and that is what’s worrying him. Will says that it’s a done deal. He tells Will that Janelle said she will be voting for him but Will says it doesn’t matter what she does because he and Danielle are voting for him and Boogie would be the tie breaker.

Will is inside now with Danielle. He asks her if she’s okay. She says nope. He tells her that he’s not doing to do something unless he discusses with her first. Again Will is back with her telling her he’s “not gonna get crazy, he’s just telling her that he’s worried.” Danielle says don’t vote him out. Will says okay, we won’t, but I’m still worried that he’s double dipping. Danielle, now fighting back tears, says he looked her in her face and said he’s gonna play. Tears appear to be winning in the diary room where she says that it’s just one thing after another. He can not walk out the door.

Up in the HOH, Will is going over his convo with Danielle. Boogie says that they may not be able to evict James and have her be okay with it. But Will says for him, there’s no turning back. If he stays, he’s going after them. Boogie is shaking his head yes. Will says this is the decision that he will look back on and say it’s what kicked him out or this is what got him farther. He tells us that James has to go. He’s untrustworthy and at the end of the day, doesn’t have their back. But he’s worried how Danielle will react. Will tells Boogie that if Danielle is not cool with this, she’s gonna go after them and they are alone.

Back to the Julie 3P0. Let’s check in the houseguests. She brings up how Howie went out. With a bag she says. Camera takes us to Boogie and his giant lipless smile. His teeth are huge. I’ll give him credit though, he’s what around 45 or 50 now, his teeth are very white. She wants to know if James hadn’t separated them, would the fight have gotten physical. Boogie says, “I sure hope not, he’s got about 40 pounds on me” But then he gets back to serious. “Heat of the moment” which is apropos in this case because “his looks are gone and he’s alone.” Then he tries to be funny. “If I sold light sabers for a living, I’d be angry too.”

Next, Julie reminds George that he’s the one who put Howie up. George says it’s just a game and it was meant to be.

Finally, Jules asks about her crying. “We haven’t seen so much crying since Bunky in season 2.” Janelle laughs and says that she’s doing better. She was shocked at first but feels better now.

Commercials – Hyundai seems to be a pretty big sponsor of Big Brother, which is neat cause I own a Hyundai. Wanna See it? There’s a movie out called How to Eat Fried Worms. I remember reading that book when I was really young. I was trying to remember why the kid at the worms in the first place, but I can’t seem to remember.

We’re back and it’s sequester house time. First we get Marcellus going in and moping around. He’s always in such a crappy mood, what a way to go through life. First thing he does when he gets out of his car is complain about how hot it is. Next, he calls the place his own personal hell. Really, it’s raining on me for about the thousandth time here in Ohio and you’re on a beach. Go screw. Next, he says how it’s the worst experience of his life. That’s it. I hate him. No more rooting for the Amy and Marcellus show to end up on TV and no more watching Housecalls with that dope Gretchen. He’s happy that’s finally alone and he’s excited that he gets a whole week to himself. Did someone not tell him it was a double elimination week? He says he will work on not being bitter so when someone comes through the door, he can be friendly. “Great God in Heaven, I hope it’s not Howie.” He adds. Just then, the thing which is irony comes out of the water and conks him on the head. We get flashbacks of Howie annoying Marcellus. He says Howie walking through the door one week from today would be his absolute nightmare. Goody for you Marci that Howie will be walking through the door a mere 24 hours later. It’s actually pretty funny. Marcellus is down stairs playing solitaire as Howie is walking down the front stairs. Howie walks into the second level and stands on a balcony that overlooks Marcellus much like they have at the BB house and says, “Ultimate Betrayal” They again play that record scratching the stops the pretty music as Marcellus looks up and then screams, “Nooooooooooo” like Shatner in Wrath of Kahn. “Damn, paradise has just been lost.” Marcellus says. He wants to know how this happened and Howie just responds with, “You’ll see later but I just can’t beat a chicken.”

Now it’s time to watch the tapes. We watch as they watch. We get to see their reactions. Marcellus is shocked by George’s nominations. Howie makes fun of people appearances and Marcellus wants to know why he keeps doing that. Now it’s time to watch them watch as Howie is evicted. Howie sits up in his seat to watch his big moment. He makes MST3K type remarks at the TV as Marcellus just watches in horror. Howie continues to make fun of everyone as Marcellus just listens in horror. Finally he says to Marcellus, “We’ll have to see how the rest of it unfolds, what do you think of that Marci?” Marcellus responds with, “Stop calling me Marci, I don’t like it, my name is Marcellus.” Fine, I apologize to anyone here and at tivocommunity.com that may have been offended when I typed Marci. I meant no offense by it, I was just being lazy. Howie responds with, “Whoa….sorry Marjellus.” That made me laugh out loud.

Commercials – Would it be ironic if Tivo did commercials? Just curious.

Back to the show. Time for showmance talk. Seriously, I’m bored with this. Erica and Boogie are having a showmance. There is kissing. Who cares. Will and Janelle are just flirting a lot, no showmance here. Will thinks he has Janelle in the palm of his hand. Chilltown has to decide which girl to bring with them. Will wants Janelle and Boogie wants Erica. Will doesn’t trust Erica. Boogie doesn’t trust Will. I think Will and Boogie should meet on the playground after social studies and work this out.

Okay Will made me laugh here. He tells Boogie, “We’re the Beatles. You’re John Lennon and I’m Paul McCartney. This week we’re bringing Yoko into the Beatles, we just have to figure out who Yoko is. We’re bringing in Janelle or Erica. One of them is coming with us this week. James, he’s Ringo Starr. Chicken George, he’s in the Monkeys.”

Time for Julie to chat with Boogie. He’s alone in HOH. Nothing new here. He says that Janelle is still in because he’s a target. Boogie confirms that it was Will’s idea. He doesn’t completely trust her because they have been knocking out her friends, but as the season goes on, he expects her to go after them. He also says that 5 years ago, Will chose the money over him so he would be okay doing the same thing this year. But he’s really hoping they end up 1 and 2. Finally, having coup d’etat helped him in his strategy but he never used it.

In the diary room, Erica, crying Danielle, Janelle and Will talk about who’s the best to get rid of. Erica says nothing, Danielle cries and makes more threats, Janelle still feels a little loyalty to James even though she knows he’s not completely on her side and Will basically says he’s getting rid of James because he’s the bigger threat.

Commercials – nothing exciting happens.

Time for the live eviction. James gets a chance to talk first. It’s a dumb speech, he’s a competitor, he wants to stay, yada yada yada. George is next, he thanks everyone for keeping him as long as they have and “Cool beans.” I don’t know why he said that, but I still like that and I’m hoping by some miracle he gets far.

One at a time, Julie calls them in to cast their vote. Erica votes to evict James. Will votes to evict James. Danielle votes to evict George. Janelle votes to evict James. By a vote of 3-1, the ultimate floater is gone. By the way, check out George’s face when Julie says that’s he safe, it’s quite funny. Hands are shaken, hugs all around. As James is getting comfy with Julie, we are taken back into the house. Danielle goes off by herself as Erica tries to hover around her. Erica says, “Come on, let’s go get HOH.” as Danielle puts on sunglasses and heads back out. Janelle and Boogie run into the exercise room as Janelle asks Boogie where he finished in some competition just in case it comes up during HOH comp. They all stand around and wait for HOH comp to start so we head back to James.

James says he’s happy that he went out at the hands of the best, Will, Boogie and Janelle. He says he took the game too serious at the beginning. He said he didn’t have much fun at the beginning but he started to move away from that as it went on. Julie asks him why he made it personal. She repeats some of the things he had said about her, “bitch, whore, etc” He says he got mad at her at the beginning for tossing him under the bus to other people during the first week. Julie says that since he betrayed them in the house, will he still be friends with them outside the house. James says, “Once again, I’m wondering what show was being watched.” Basically he doesn’t think he did anything wrong even when that dim bulb Julie is seeing it (even if she is reading from a prompter). He says Janelle lied to him a few times during nominations. Julie tells him that the lying must work both ways. Zing.

Goodbye messages…

George – “We’ve had an odd relationship. Everything is cool.”

Janelle – “Want to thank you for playing the game different than last year. You were
more honest and I respect that.”

Erica – “There can be only one great floater in this game and that had to be me so that’s why you had to go.”

Boogie – “I had high hopes that the LOD could make it to the final four. You’re a great player.”

Will – “You’re gone and it’s my fault. I felt you were looking out for yourself and not the Legion of Doom”

Danielle (again looking down) – “If you’re out there, then chilltown….” Yeah, more threats, we get it, you’re mad.

His final thoughts. He thought they could trust S6, he felt he couldn’t, so he formed another one, and they are the ones who kicked him out.

HOH competition is next.

Commercials – Another Hyundai commercial. Did I mention that I had one?

Another true/false competition. They are on stairs and they are wearing blindfolds. Julie will mention two events that happen in the house. If they think the order she mentions them in are true, step up, false, step down.

Question 1 – True or False, Howie called Mike a punk before walking out the front door but first gnomes threw pies in the houseguests faces. Everyone steps down false and everyone is right.

Question 2 – True or False, the houseguests got dolled up for prom night, but first the grim reaper made an ominous appearance. Janelle and George step down, they are out as true is the right answer. Erica, Will and Danielle remain in the game.

Question 3 – True or False, Jase refused to walk Nakomis to the door after eviction, but first Kayser became a human blueberry. Will and Danielle immediately walk up to true. Erica starts to but hesitates. Julie tells her that we need an answer so finally she walks down to false which proves to be the correct answer. Erica is your new head of household.

After commercials, we are back in the house with Julie. Julie asks George if he’d rather have the fried chicken and beer that was waiting for him if he’d been evicted and he goes nutty. After he realizes that he’d have to be out there, he calms down. Julie applauds his weight loss after he says he’s down 20 pounds. Next Julie asks Janelle about being the last one from season 6 and wants to know how it feels. Janelle says, “good I guess, not really, I wish they were here.” More Danielle tears as she talks about her family.

Who will Erica nominate? Who will take over this recapping thing? Who knows? Stay tuned. Oh yeah and one week from tonight, 2 people are going home.
