There's a psychological phenomenon with our brains that allows us to understand words if the first and last letter are in the correct spot (ever see that weird email with sentences like "Olny sveen pcrenet wlil raed tihs" or something like that?). Miss Ella is phonetically similar to "Melissa". My brain must be defective because I've always seen it as written and so I've always associated you with Ella Fitzgerald. Am I mistaken? Is your name not an homage to Ella? And congratulations Z-man! Your podcasts are impressive indeed (or the one I've actually had time to listen to was). I have so much to catch up on and it's only Week Two! I haven't even read the Hammie's individual threads yet - at all. This is a full time endeavour this BB. How do people who work do it? tismissella Posted July 20, 2009 Bingo Sheena! It's a somewhat convoluted and nerdy story. In high school I was in the jazz band. We played a song called "Miss Ella" - indeed an homage to the late, great Ella Fitzgerald who I really liked as a vocal artist. I adopted it as a moniker because I thought it was cute and sassy, as well as having a little ingenue to it. The song itself is also downright sexy IMO.
