tlh9 Posted January 18, 2017 I didn't even know that was on! "His new show"? You mean, it's like Derrick's show? He's not just one of the people talking about stuff on it? I usually watch shows like that, but Winter Term just started last week and I've been busy again! I remember I worked at the Military Department (just as a secretary) when the OJ verdict went down. They had a big TV on in the gym, and the entire department (it was a big building!) went down there to watch it live.
Shannon Posted January 18, 2017 It's Derrick and another man (can't remember his name or position) going over some theories, like did O J's son do the murder, etc., and giving opinions of what might have happened. I only watched it, the first two episodes so far, because I wanted to see Derrick, but it was sort of interesting. I'm pretty sick of all the 'new' shows about O J, but a man has all these reasons why he thinks O J's son did it that seemed terribly flawed to me. I guess the best way to describe it is to think of all the headlines on the National Inquirer at the check out at your store, about O J, then having two professional experts go over them in detail. tlh9 Posted January 20, 2017 Interesting... I may have to check that out, it would be kinda interesting to see Derrick in a show like that. And that premise, like you describe about the headlines at the grocery store, good description! And also makes it seem kinda interesting. Anyway, I'd been wondering why all the new shows about OJ... if it was some kind of "anniversary" or something. The year the verdict happened was 1995, I think, remembering where I was working at the time... but it wasn't early in the year... so it doesn't *seem* to be an anniversary. I hadn't heard about the "OJ's son" theory!
AVorlon Posted January 20, 2017 I thought the whole OJ thing was already played out, so I don't know what is left to say at this point. I watched the entire trial back in the day when I had some time on my hands, and I don't really need to see it recreated. OJ wrote a book called "If I did it", where he pretty much explained how he did it, and why. He's in prison now for armed robbery, and I'm guessing he feels like he deserves to be there. My favorite line from the trial...."What about THAT, Mr. Fung?" Mr. Fung... "Was that a question?"
gerbellissimo Posted January 20, 2017 Saw the show, it's decent, but I didn't like Derrick much on BB so it's not a big draw for me. He seems like a smart young cop in this show, which of course, he isn't anymore... having descended to fame whore status. Next I expect he will be dissecting the Jon-Benet case for the 20th time this year..... or maybe finding Hitler.
dc20willsave Posted January 21, 2017 (edited) I feel like the show got greenlit because of the Ryan Murphy American Crime Story show about OJ. In entertainment, it's not who does it first, it's how much can you do it before it's completely beaten into the ground. nixiechick Posted January 21, 2017 Wasn't the OJ story beaten into the ground a good 10 years ago though? I find the JonBenet story just to be disturbing at this point. Mom is dead and I'm not sure they could charge her brother now for crimes committed as a child. Other than covering it up, I don't think dad was ever suspected of actually killing her. I worry if her brother really did kill her, all the coverage and renewed media obsession might make him snap and end up in a mass shooting. Let's be honest, he already seems slightly off the rails on a good day, and if he went completely off, everyone would be like, yep, it was only a matter of time. Maybe the train shouldn't be completely derailed on purpose.
Shannon Posted January 21, 2017 Her brother has some sort of autism, somewhere on the spectrum, but is in no way violent that I've ever heard of him. They police totally messed that case up, it will probably never come out what really happened but I highly doubt that parents or brother did it. Just like with O J or any other unsolved crime, you want to know, it seems insane that they can't solve it, so bringing it back gets a lot of media time, which means more money for someone(s) somewhere. And as much as i hate myself for it, I find myself watching the crap again when it's dragged out. I'm sick of O J, I think he's as guilty as they come, he makes me sick. I only watched this because Derrick was in it and of course I was curious. But JonBenet still gets me in the gut, such a little girl, attacked like that, such incompetent police work, it just pisses me off to no end.
dc20willsave Posted June 15, 2017 A few Big Brother and Survivor alums are going to be appearing on the new Candy Crush game show. These include Frankie The Fucking Famewhore, Caleb, Paul, and Da'Vonne. Note, i would not click on the link if you have just eaten. There's a big picture of FFF there in his usual horribleness. CripesAlmighty Posted June 25, 2017 To quote my daughter, that show has "suck" written all over it. The fact that they're allowing FFF on the show just proved it.
karolm Posted June 27, 2017 I had found Netflix while waiting for this season of BB. I highly recommend Orange Is The New Black, Glow, and Wentworth.

dc20willsave Posted August 11, 2017 He always seemed really into her in the house and, unlike Corey, I was always sure he was straight so good for her. I'm personally all for this because, well, Paul's reaction when he gets out of the house.
