The Amazing Race - Season 30

I barely even remembered that the violinist guys were still there, until they got eliminated.  I remember championing the idea of a partner swap a few seasons ago, but that was a season where they were being paired up with complete strangers. It made sense to me then, but this is a normal season with cohesive teams who have worked hard together to reach this point.   

It doesn't  make sense  to do it now.

You know Jessica will be matched with the girl who says she stole her gnome and didn't give her all the clues last time around. I'm not seeing how this will work in the long run, it's feeing more like it will be a leg or 2 at most.

I got the impression that the swap thing was only for one leg and that's it?  Or maybe even just one task?

I can't imagine it would last all the way to the mat on this upcoming episode. Maybe if the end of the first hour is a "you're still racing, here's your next clue." But certainly they will be back with their original teams by the eventual elimination. Otherwise, you'd have at least one team that was made up of swapped members for the rest of the race after the others went back to normal. That's not really fair.

Then again, the head-to-heads are a hot mess, so...

That's a good call, Tsy. This Wednesday's episode is 2 hours. It doesn't make sense that they would eliminate a newly paired twosome, which means that two teams would effectively be eliminated. So, I expect that the original couples will be reunited at some time after the first hour.

Then again, I hate to think that the showrunners have hooked up with FUG and her evil minions to crap all over this show.

By the skin of their teeth, Jody is still in the race.  Though, I imagine if they'd come in last, production would have suddenly switched non-elimination legs to avoid their departure.

I was hoping they would send all four of last two teams home.  I don't know why Jess, who runs like she's wrapped in stupid, and Cody would be favored by production, they are totally soresville.  I am liking Henry and Evan, most of the time. 

Why do people running in a race against each other, get all pissy when other racers don't help them?

I'm liking Cody and Jessica on this show Jessica, in particular, seems to have a really positive attitude. 

The other teams are the same, with very little sniping, drama, or infighting.  I still think Jessica is kind of cute,  but she can't sing worth a damn.

Yale drives me a bit crazy.  Evan's need to be in control of every tiny decision combined with their need to have discussions about minutia makes Homer someone something.

Well, well.....watching the LifeSavers to go out of the race through an obvious fault of their own was tasty.  Unlike the other plentiful instances on the race where they blamed other teams/racers for their misfortunes (or bad decisions), what finally did them in was an action which could only be owned by themselves.  Still, I half-expected Brittany to accuse Jessica of stealing that passport. 

I'd like a little more information on how Jessica managed to lose her own tennis shoes after the last leg - how does that happen?  

That elephant challenge was awesome to watch.  Not only because of the animals, but to see the BRILLIANT Team Yale fall behind due to their failure to measure accurately.  I don't actually dislike Yale.....but they make it difficult to cheer them on having such a superior attitude toward the other racers.  I do like the remaining teams - it's nice to have a season where there are (at least) three competitive teams running in the finale who have a "may the best team win" attitude toward racing.

Jess can't do this, Jess can't do that...she's exhausting to me, but seems to build Cody's need to be a man.  Jess presented  her BBself as a princess in a princess home, in a bikini, with bikini girlfriends, in a pool...and now she's wearing a camo hat and being a dude's girl.  I just can't with them.
