The advantage of pulling a bunch of social media "celebrities" is that they're unlikely to have contestants who have seen every episode of the show and know all the tricks.

Currently in its 28th season, the series will be sending teams to pit stops in three new countries this time around: Cartagena, Columbia, Tbilisi, Georgia, and Yerevan, Armenia.

 

Plus, these social media influencers—who have over 88 million combined followers—will be traveling over 27,000 miles during their time on the show. That's 18 cities and 10 countries in just a few short weeks.

 

Presumably the official cast photos will be arriving soon, and then we'll get some threads going.

I've never seen so many people who were so desperately trying to be the funniest person in the room and failing while doing it.

One episode in and I'm already over the constant screaming for attention. I'm sure that won't get as annoying as fuck.

The only thing I like about this season is that the famewhores seem to know/recognize one another. Yep, that's all I've got.

Two episodes in and I am still not feeling it. I wasn't sad about the team going home, none of the other teams have grabbed my attention other than THEY ALL SHOUT ALL THE TIME.A benefit is that I am actually paying more attention to the background and random passersby.

 

The best thing about the episode was reading gforce's recap!

This is the season of mockery for me.....the only reason I watch is to see how stupid they all can be. Seriously - who brings a THONG for a bathing suite, blow-dryer and curling iron on The Amazing Race?

My god, what a pointless episode. Hey Phil, when you have 8 teams on the mat at the same time, that's not something to be celebrated. That's a sign that your leg was completely borked and was full of crappy bottlenecks.

I wish there was a penalty for being discourteous and borderline abusive to the locals. Those poor chess players never had to get up; the racers could have worked around them, if they'd just taken a breath to think about it. It's one thing to screw with other contestants, and another to mess with the locals.

 

I hope karma takes them out one team at a time.

There's about a 0% chance that those chess players were legit, and weren't just planted there by TAR as an obstacle. If you were REALLY trying to get a chess game in but all these people kept butting in and screwing with your plans, wouldn't you just move?

However, if they were ficus, wouldn't Phil have let us in on it? Or shouldn't they have been the ones giving out clues to the next task?

 

Either way, I still believe it was very rude for the racers to keep disrupting their game.
