Tsylyst Posted November 11, 2015 The spring season will be entirely social media stars: http://tvline.com/2015/11/11/amazing-race-season-28-cast-youtube-vine-stars/ Vine, Instagram, YouTube and gamers. Sounds like a grab for ratings from younger people.
CazBot Posted November 11, 2015 Well, they are all entertainers, so it won't be a boring season.
ff174 Posted November 11, 2015 They have had YouTubers and other social media types before. I am pretty sure that I didn't like any of them. Social media types. Good god, if they put Frankie the Fucking Famewhore in the race, I may have to cut a bitch.
Tsylyst Posted November 11, 2015 He's not on the list, thank goodness.
nixiechick Posted November 11, 2015 Never heard of a single one of them.
Lorelai28 Posted November 11, 2015 Well, they are all entertainers, so it won't be a boring season. Careful, Frankie Grande and Austin Matelson were supposed to be "entertainers," too.
Tsylyst Posted November 12, 2015 CBS posted a gallery with info and pictures: http://www.cbs.com/shows/amazing_race/photos/1005177/meet-the-cast-of-the-amazing-race-season-28/ The Racers have been posting since yesterday on social media that they are getting ready to leave for filming soon. dc20willsave Posted November 12, 2015 I think I've heard of one pair before this (the Psychobabble podcasters) and I remember not much caring for them. Burnie Burns did a bunch of videos based off of Halo called Red Vs Blue that were funny back in the day but I couldn't differentiate him from anyone else on his team if you asked me at gunpoint. MrsGryn Posted November 14, 2015 Well, I'm okay with them because I don't know a single soul, so have no preconceived notions. Still, CBS would have done better to put a snarky Hamster and his gay best friend Hippo as a team. Just sayin'...
AVorlon Posted November 15, 2015 There was a Late, Late Show on CBS last month where they did the entire show from the YouTube headquarters, and featured some of the "personalities". It was a lot better than I thought it would be. That may be how CBS got the idea to do this. These folks have a lot of followers who will happily tune in, while people like me will only see a bunch of strangers, like any other normal season.
Tsylyst Posted November 15, 2015 A bunch of strangers that are extra fame-hungry, playing to the camera every second. We've had YouTubers on "Amazing Race" before, and they were all Frankie, all the time. They also had no clue how to run the Race. Hopefully these folks all got the 30-second, small-word tutorial. copssister Posted November 16, 2015 Call me when Bertram books Matt Bellassai. Until then, my opinion is it will be a season full of Frankies.
GoobieDebi Posted November 29, 2015 Zach King is a Viner as the youngins call them. He and his new wife are going to be on TAR 28. He does some pretty nifty stuff, some of which I ran across today. http://imgur.com/gallery/Iy9QL
