Vanessa Rousso – Just another Manic Mouthday

Recommended Posts

Austin is fine with Vanessa, unless she put him up, better to check him out at F3, and Austin will tell Liz to vote for Van to win, which will bring in Julia's vote for Van. That's if they are all in jury and it wasn't Van who put up Austin. Austin has no problem dump on Liz, he wants to be the one with the money, so thinking Van is giving him a shot will be enough to get his vote.

John in the jury would vote against Van, I'm pretty sure, he'd rather give it to Steve or Austin.

Taking Liz would be dumb, Austin & Julia will be voting for Liz to win and could sway some dumbass voters that way.

I'm just guessing of course. I don't see this group as bitter, but some are not bright and could be swayed, I think she's better off sitting next to JM. Steve is going to sing her praises no matter what happens. Meg is going to vote the way she's told by whomever she thinks is her bestest camp buddy, and I think James will give it to Van. But you never know.

The twats and Austoad still think John is a sneaky actor, because being an actor instead of a dentist is somehow evil.

Perhaps she's counting on JM or Steve winning PoV.

She will have to nom one of the AusTwit-uh as the replacement. Given the big drama that went down last week, I can see her telling Asstin that it's in his best romantic interest to "be the pawn" and then going to Liz after he's nominated that she has to vote him out in order for her to secure the win. (That actually wouldn't be a bad scenario for her to try, though it's much more likely that it ends in a 1-1 split that Vanassa then has to break.)

I had this thought earlier today. She's so manipulative, I can see her thinking that by not telling JM or Steve, her plans can't be outed if neither wins and if one of them does, then she plays up to Liz how she made a mistake and Stankassausquatch gets the backdoor boot. If this is her thinking, I'm good with it for now.

See, this is why I don't like Vanessa and I want her to get very close...then lose.

She sits there and asks Steve every single thing she can think of and he answers. At one point, she asks something, he wants to think about it and she says no, she needs an answer now because she doesn't want an answer about what will help his game, she wants to know what will help hers.

She also asked him who would win in a final two if it was her vs. Liz and her vs. Austin..and he answered...because he has to.

Then he looks down at her stupid skittles things and asks which color he is. She won't answer and tells him that everyone can have private thoughts once in a while..

REALLY?????

How would she have responded if he had said that...not well I bet. She actually told him it was annoying her that he was even looking at them.

Again, I don't care if it's good game play, it's just mean. There's a way to find out stuff you want to know with out being so horrible about it. She treats him like shit constantly and I'm guessing she doesn't even care. And I'm not even gonna use the bully word here because that word is way overused. She's just a jerk.

Edit: I can't take it anymore. I'm flying to Kansas in about 10 days and I just flipped over to Why Planes Crash on The Weather Channel...that's easier to watch than her interrogating Steve.

I was watching the same thing. She not only did it to Steve. she did it to everyone else as well.

But it does seem worse with Steve because he is so transparent and honest. To Steve, they are in this together. To her, he's nothing. That's why she continues to piss and moan about being alone in the game, despite Steve's loyalty.

I agree it pissed me off that she questions Steve over and over and demands him answer her questions but she does not answer his. IT drives her up the wall that she can never read John, and he never answers her questions and just plays dumb to her. She really is a bully. The way she had Austin begging not to go on the block Thursday night was funny because I can't stand him but I hate it with Steve and John.

If she acts like this at a poker table, I'd relinquish my seat and give up my chips just to get away from her.

And if she acts like this in real life, if I were Mel, I'd be looking for a pet-friendly battered women's shelter.

I really doubt that she acts like this at the poker table. Poker is a game with a very well-defined set of rules, odds, etc. in this day of high-tech everything, it takes nothing to study video if different players habits and tells. Plus, it's very easy to limit what other people know about her. She's successful because she is in control of everything she can control.

BB is a whole different story. It requires trust of things she can't control. For someone who is accustomed to being in charge, it has to be like getting poked with a million needles.

As for how she is at hone, I wouldn't want to venture. I do know that sometimes the right person can center you in ways that no one and nothing else can. It could very well be that Mel's absence is precisely the reason why Vanessa is so manic now.

Also, poker is not a chatty game among professionals. Most of them say virtually nothing during hours of play. Some don't even say game words such as "raise" or "call". Talking is risky (vocal tone could give away information), so it's rare to see people talk when they're in a hand. Obviously, BB is a talky game for the social side, so it's necessary to yap to build friendships/alliances and to strategize. In BB, Vanessa uses talking to plant seeds and get information (non-verbal reactions, as well as ideas or statements of fact).

I highly doubt that she's much like this in the real world... certainly not at poker. Probably part of her problem (why she is so relentless and annoying) is that she's having fun being able to verbalize so much about her strategic calculations in this game, when it wouldn't be a good idea to ever engage in that stuff outside. She must feel weirdly unshackled, while otherwise feeling weirdly out-of-control. Poker is not a team sport, but BB is... at least until you get near the end.

I'm sure she's blabby by nature socially, but it's probably more normal and pleasant to be around if the objective of her blabber isn't to manipulate you and win a game.

I have seen Vanessa many times playing poker on tv. As I remember she is very quiet and has her shades and usually some type of hat. Always found her fairly pleasant. Not anymore.

I didn't know that she was so talkative. And rather nasty. She is constantly running the odds in her mind as when she plays poker.

Hoping she puts up Austin and Austin goes. I see a better path for John.

Hoping that John wins HOH and she will be gone.

I will give Vanessa credit for one thing... I have heard her repeatedly put other hamsters in their place when they act like another player doesn't have the right to make deals behind her back. Mi don't know when she had this epiphany, but she did it with Asstin and Liz-uh last night. She even told Steve and JM that she respected that they had back-up plans that weren't advertised to anyone else.

In the world of BB, that's downright progressive thinking!

I think I might be able to get behind her if she was more forthcoming in what we see of her DR sessions. One of the things that's gotten to me this season is that about half of the contestants (recruits, I guess) didn't seem to understand the concept of the DR.

Yes, I agree that she probably deserves to win, if the others don't fix their mistakes of a few weeks ago, and she makes it to Final 2, just as Evel Dick (who I have to thank for finding HamsterTime) did. Still, I don't like people who use bullying (however indistinct) to get through a game or life. And just because she doesn't display that behavior at the poker table, doesn't mean that she doesn't use those same tactics on other players during breaks or social situations.

Dick Donato's bullying was in-your-face, "I want you out and don't care how I do it or how much blood is on my hands." Her kind of manipulative behavior borders on gaslighting, which can be much more destructive to others' psyches.

Never witnessed a bully do that. She's forthcoming in discussing game moves with other HGs and commending them on how they've played the game. Does she throw some self-serving information in there? Yes, but I do not believe the original compliment is complete bullshit.

I was addicted to playing Risk as a young girl. My brothers, who were older, and I would play into the wee hours of the night. I loved that game so much my enthusiasm would border on the aggressive, offensive, and slightly manic when strategizing. I'm sure I was obnoxious at times, especially when I would take down my equally obnoxious brother. The other two were more like JM and acted like they could take it or leave it. But those two were just as cut-throat.

Vanessa loves this game to the aggressive. But she's not a narcissist, psychopath or sociopath. I think we'll see evidence of this after the show ends and she returns to normal life; and actually has friendships from the house.

The Veto comp was thrown to her by an impotent HOH, wow, how stupid can you get. Her win will now be hollow.

She's the one who convinced him to throw it...that's hardly a hollow victory.

I agree, jak. We know (and so does Steve) that the Veto at final 4 is *the* one to win. Yet Vanessa got him to throw it to her? I don't like that he did it, but I bow to her success in getting him to make such a boneheaded move.
