A Guide to Live Feeds and Paramount+

I tried it for a few minutes this afternoon, and it was freezing up for me as well in a way that doesn't happen on CBS site. But I wanted to throw it out there as an option for people, especially anyone that wants to try their hand at screencapping without having to have additional paid software.

For sure, and it used to be a pretty robust little app for its size, with no downsides and no bloat. Here's hoping that with some tweaks and fixes it'll find its legs again. Thanks for the heads-up about it!

So I watch the feeds on my iPad, and lately, the CBS screen is really tiny, with no obvious way to resize it. Anybody know anything?

If you're canceling your feeds after BB18, here's how:

 

1. Use the dropdown menu at the top right of the All Access website and select "CBS All Access Account"

 

2. Click "Cancel my subscription" at the bottom right of the account page.

 

 

3. Follow the instructions on the pages that follow.

Is there anyway you can watch it on your TV? Thru the blu-ray player maybe? It does have wi-fi and apps.

There are some ways to do it. I know people earlier up this thread have discussed using a Roku to watch through their TV. Chromecast is an option, too. Also, Xbox, iPad, Fire, etc., according to the website.

 

That said, I don't have either of those devices, so the only way I've ever done it is to hook my laptop up to the TV with an HDMI cable (essentially making the TV the monitor for the laptop).

I have the Roku and it's great. I watched everything through it, it's a great device and it's pretty cheap. I would recommend it to everyone. It's so much easier to live feed recap (or anything while sitting at a computer as I generally am) when you can put the feeds on your big TV. Plus, Netflix, Amazon and just about every other app you can think of is part of it.

 

But I wouldn't recommend the streaming stick version of it. I bought of those and my remote broke pretty quick and I can't seem to find a replacement for it. Every Roku remote I saw said...not compatible with streaming stick. I even emailed roku directly and asked them and let's just say their support wasn't real helpful.

Psst, jerrye25, I live with a 21-year-old stepson......remotes go missing every other day. Once, I found the remote inside the butter dish in the fridge. Another time, in the garage on a shelf. After a few replacement remotes were lost, I learned of an app you can download on your phone to control the Roku (or Fire Stick).......haven't searched for a remote since.

 

We have both Roku and Amazon Fire Stick. CBS All Access for Live Feeds and shows are available on both. There's no chat feature with the Live Feeds - which I view as an advantage.

Oh yeah, I ended up buying a second Roku, the 2 I think and put that on the big TV downstairs and moved the streaming stick upstairs and use the phone app to control it.

 

But for some reason, while I use my phone for every single other thing I do...I'm that annoying person who has his nose in his phone all the time...I didn't like using the Roku app on it as a remote.

 

The other thing you do lose with the Roku is the flashback, but I barely used that and would just go to the laptop if I wanted to flashback for some reason.

How do you use it with Roku? I know someone told me last year to use it with the feeds, but I didn't understand it. I have Roku that my son-in-law gave me for my birthday and it has Netflix, I don't have any of the other stuff on there. I do not understand streaming. Yep, I am dumb like Corey.

Shannon, just like you download any application for your smart phone, you have to download the app called "CBS All Access" to your Roku. On my Roku, on the menu, I have an option called "Streaming Channels" (yours may be different.) Once you get there, you'll see literally hundreds of different channels you can download like YouTube, HBO Now, Hulu, Netflix. Some apps you can download and get immediate access to content; like YouTube. So, if you are a big YouTube person, you can watch any video on your TV for free.

 

You can download the CBS All Access channel for free. But, if you want actually use it, you will have to subscribe ... like Netflix or Hulu or Pandora. Once you download, the instructions will tell you to register, and you'll need access to the internet from your computer (or phone or tablet or ... you get the picture). At some point, they are going to want a credit card for the monthly fee.

 

That is the bad news. The good news is that once you have signed up for CBS All Access for your Roku, you can download the app for your computer, smart phone or tablet, it you have one. You can watch CBS All Access on all these devices for one monthly fee.

I already have All Access, so are you talking about another monthly fee on top of the monthly fee I pay to watch the feeds on my PC? I know the Netflix on my Roku is extra, not included with my Netflix DVD rentals, I assume that's the streaming fee. And I don't have a smart phone but I do have a little tablet. Thank you for the info.

If you have All Access for your computer, then all you have to do is download the app for your Roku (and your tablet) and are good to go. You will not have to pay an additional monthly fee for your Roku or your tablet.

 

And, you will not have to go through the registration process like I described.

Correct - once you've subscribed to All Access, you can access using your All Access login/password from any device on which you download the app.

 

If you have a newer smartTV (within the past few years) and a tablet, you also have the option to open/use the All Access on the tablet and then use the "screen mirroring" option on the tablet to locate your TV and throw (mirror) the display/audio to your TV.
