Don't know if this is the appropriate thread, or not, but TAR has been renewed for another season ... as if there were any doubt.

Another marriage!? Time for us to make our date selections in the divorce pool. These two finally get their spread in People - and the internet buzz is all about Mrs & ex-Mr. America's divorce announcement. I wonder if Wayne Newton performed at their reception.

It's produced just like the American version. In fact, this could easily be mistaken for the American version ... except they all talk funny, and there is no Phil.

Monday, September 5th at 9:00 pm EDT, is the 10th anniversary of the premiere of the first episode ever of TAR ("The Race Begins.") on CBS. The episode covered the opening leg from the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park (New York City) to Songwe Village.

 

That was the only episode of TAR that was broadcast before the 9/11 attacks on New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania.

Brennan Swain posted on Wednesday on Facebook that season one's Nancy Hoyt (the mother of the team fondly referred to as Momily) has passed away after a gallant struggle with ALS (Lou Gerig's Disease). I love the little details of their wedding, all the travel-related touches, like a departure board to tell guests at which table they are seated, and vintage telegram menu cards. And their menu sounded delicious. Yeah, I can't really be snide at this one.

I didn't watch the first 4 seasons of TAR for some reason, so I finally got to see Season 2 this weekend, and now know the full assholery that was Will and Tara. WOW!!! I also thought I had heard that they won, so it was with joy to see that they didn't win.

 

I was also surprised that absolutely none of this season has been represented in future All Star seasons, unless I'm completely forgetting someone.

 

It was also interesting to watch the changes in the show. Phil has just about zero personality when the players crossed the check in lines. There's minutes upon minutes of footage of people on transportation going to the next place. And it is rarely clear as to what position some people are in.
