ff174 Posted April 1, 2011 Don't know if this is the appropriate thread, or not, but TAR has been renewed for another season ... as if there were any doubt. And, YAY!
copssister Posted May 9, 2011 Another marriage!? Time for us to make our date selections in the divorce pool. These two finally get their spread in People - and the internet buzz is all about Mrs & ex-Mr. America's divorce announcement. I wonder if Wayne Newton performed at their reception. ff174 Posted May 29, 2011 Well, it's not a "Past Season," but if you are a fan of the Amazing Race, here is a link to YouTube for The Amazing Race: Australia. It's produced just like the American version. In fact, this could easily be mistaken for the American version ... except they all talk funny, and there is no Phil. theschnauzers Posted September 4, 2011 (edited) Monday, September 5th at 9:00 pm EDT, is the 10th anniversary of the premiere of the first episode ever of TAR ("The Race Begins.") on CBS. The episode covered the opening leg from the Bethesda Fountain in Central Park (New York City) to Songwe Village. That was the only episode of TAR that was broadcast before the 9/11 attacks on New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania. tlh9 Posted September 7, 2011 (edited) Wow. That almost makes it a little creepy. But still very interesting. Edited September 7, 2011 by tlh9
theschnauzers Posted December 11, 2011 Brennan Swain posted on Wednesday on Facebook that season one's Nancy Hoyt (the mother of the team fondly referred to as Momily) has passed away after a gallant struggle with ALS (Lou Gerig's Disease). You can post thoughts on Brennan's FB page, and RFF has a dedicated thread as well, both will be forwarded to the Hoyt family.
Tsylyst Posted March 16, 2012 Cindy and Ernie got hitchified recently. Here are some pics: http://www.people.com/people/gallery/0,,20579308_21134694,00.html#21134684 I'm guessing the big "X" in the sky over Chicago is some deity's way of trying to warn her he's totally into his best man. MrsGryn Posted March 17, 2012 I love the little details of their wedding, all the travel-related touches, like a departure board to tell guests at which table they are seated, and vintage telegram menu cards. And their menu sounded delicious. Yeah, I can't really be snide at this one.
forever1267 Posted October 6, 2015 I didn't watch the first 4 seasons of TAR for some reason, so I finally got to see Season 2 this weekend, and now know the full assholery that was Will and Tara. WOW!!! I also thought I had heard that they won, so it was with joy to see that they didn't win. I was also surprised that absolutely none of this season has been represented in future All Star seasons, unless I'm completely forgetting someone. It was also interesting to watch the changes in the show. Phil has just about zero personality when the players crossed the check in lines. There's minutes upon minutes of footage of people on transportation going to the next place. And it is rarely clear as to what position some people are in. Shannon Posted October 6, 2015 Beautiful wedding dress, but I'll be darned if I can remember them.
nixiechick Posted October 6, 2015 You know how long it took me to realize the People wedding link was from 2012? And how long I racked my brain trying to remember them from last season? Waaaaay too long.
tlh9 Posted October 6, 2015 I can vaguely remember them. And I noticed the "2012" on there before I clicked. haha!
Tsylyst Posted October 7, 2015 Cindy and Ernie were from Season 19, which aired in the fall of 2011. They won. Here's their original HT thread: http://www.hamstertime.net/ht/index.php?showtopic=1284 ETA: A quick Google search shows they had a son about a year ago: http://celebritybabies.people.com/2014/10/27/amazing-race-ernie-cindy-halvorsen-welcome-son-maverick-zhang/?xid=socialflow_twitter_peoplemag
