The Amazing Race - Past Seasons

Recommended Posts

Oh dear, the horror those children inside the buggy must have experienced as it ran over their mother. It had to bring up memories of the race car taking down their dad. Still, watching MomWeaver become a roadkill speedbump was some funny shit, yo’. This leg's life lesson: Speed kills, Amen.

IF I had watched this last night, I bet I would have snickered until I had tears in my eyes. And IF I had watched and had booze, I would have been drubk from *Drink*ing everytime Team Dead Dad said that their Dad was dead.

See, that is why I refuse to watch this show. It's making me an Evil person.

The Paolo family sucks.  And it sucks that the lovely Black family was eliminated.

My sentiments EXACTLY! If I EVER spoke to my mother like that I would have got a face full of back hand from my (now retired) US Army Drill Sargent DAD! I think my kids talked back to thier mother ONCE..and learned that lesson the hard way (as most kids do). Everytime that punk backtalked his mother I found myself looking for a Switch to tan his hide with.

I really liked the Black family (reminded me of the two winners last season (cant remember thier names)... always positive and loving, never a hateful word.

And I will eat crow....the familes with the smaller kids did quite well overall. I am disappointed to hear that there will not be much international racing..... where did you all see that?

I think Team Schroeder met Karma E. later on, because I read that they lost everything in Hurricane Katrina. So now I have to feel a little sorry for them, dammit.

I really found myself rooting for the two teams with the young kids. The Black Family kids were soooo adorable and sweet, I didn't want them eliminated. You know they wanted to cry when they got the boot, but they were holding so stoic that I really felt bad.

Now I root for the other team. I'm glad they staggered the challenges so that some work to the favor of having small kids, and some do not. The buggy was going to be an advantage point, I'm sorry the Blacks didn't see that.

(Type The Blacks or the Black family just feels weird and wrong...)

I'm just not loving the little kids or the screeching sisters, and havent really found anyone to root for - although it is just the first episode, and sometimes it takes awhile for the teams to grow on me.

YAY for Kevin & Drew - one of my fave teams of all time (I've watching since the very beginning). Maybe since they seem to be sticking around the States, we'll see more alumni.

I'm hoping we get to see a favored ex-team on each leg of the show. Now that would be a reason to watch.

Didn't that ship sail a looooong time ago, Buffers? Muaaaaaaahhhaaaa!

I was rooting for the Black family too. The kids were cute and the family was a class act.

I was upset the Black family was ousted too.

And I don't know if anyone else heard this, or if it is just my mind being bad. But when the Blacks & the three brother & one sister team( can't think of their names, but you know the college kids) were arriving at the finish the sister was like its The Black family. & the whole time they have never used a families name always "Pink Ladies" or "new yorker's" ect......so when she said this I looked at my husband & He looked at me. I don't think she was using it as a surname. Which made me not like them worse than I already did, But maybe I am just wanting a reason not to like them.

Oh yeah LifeOnHold "The Plushies" HeeHee Do people really do that? & EWWWW if they do.

I couldn't help laughing at the one mother (Paulo's, I think?). "Oh, yeah. Let's stop and go the bathroom and sit down to get something to eat." Hahaha...that is so something my grandmother would say. Do you realize that you are on a race? But then I felt bad, because her son is such a jackass to her. What an asshat. He needs to learn some respect.

Why do I get the feeling we aren't going to be leaving the U.S. this season? That this is going to be a race from NYC to LA... Civil War my ass

I'm holding on to a slim hope that they might slip over the border into either Canada or Mexico (raaaace through Tijuana, yeah!), but I don't really think it's going to happen. I think we're in for a season-long U.S. history lesson instead.

I shudder to think what future challenges might await us. Fast forward on the teacup ride at Disneyland, perhaps?

I hated it at first, but sort of came around towards the end. I thought it was pretty awesome that the families at the camp site were helping the new arrivals build their tents.

Char Schroeder has no name – she’s just “StepMom”…interesting, did “RealMom” not sign a release? Oh, and her husband is a complete Tool – "Too bad we don't have any handicapped children we could push into traffic to block traffic to help us get ahead." – oh, no he di’int. It's about time for him to meet Karma Electra.

Is it horrible of me to have IMed a friend right after he said that saying that I hope they lost their home in the storm? I'm still reserving my judgement about that thought even knowing they did lose their house, until I find out that he's not a complete asshole.

I see you are all enthralled with TAR Family edition! The board is HOPPING! <not>

What? You don't like watching people drive around Virginia and Washington DC? Oh, and Pennsylvania Amish country? zzzzzzz

I love TAR, but they've really ruined it thus far with the family edition. No races to airports to fly off to exotic locals, no cool detours or road blocks involving some really great challenges. Just a bunch of whining families running around America in the heat of summer, looking for brief cases and picking up civil war dead while nagging about getting gas for the SUV. Sigh. What have they done to my show!?!?!

I didn't mind the first episode, and I really wanted to give it a chance, but by this week I was bored silly, and that makes me sad because this is usually such a great show. My only reward was seeing the Rogers family phileminated after Dad's screw up on the highway in Pennsylvania, which he tried to blame on his son. Maybe next week the Jersey family with the nagging Mom and disrepectful sons/dad will go.

Anyway, just reporting in about Oct. 4 TAR - and since none of the rest of you watched it, you'll just have to take my word for it! :P

Nor do I like that our precious Phil was forced to say the line "Next, the families will drive 15 miles to the Shoe House..." 15 miles !! The horror !!! I commute 35 miles each way to the office every workday in rush hour traffic - with not a chance at a $1 million reward.

Sorry, guys, I'm just not feeling the TAR love at all this season. If I wasn't so addicted to chatting with everyone during the show - I'd not be watching at all.
