venkman7 Posted August 28, 2013 Hopefully this is the right place to post this, if not i apologize. The new cast for The Amazing Race, which, though Phil calls this season 'unpredictable', seem as predictable as all the other seasons of AR. Naturally I will still be glued to the tv every Sunday at 8, but to sample we have the obligatory young blondes (who are cheerleaders/models/insert bubbly occupation here), the "goofy hippie type", the pro-athletes, the young but older women who start out friendly but will bitch at each other a few episodes in, and the young couple who will call each other 'babe' the whole time and go from uber-positive to uber-negative with each other and back again more times than a yo-yo. Predictable? Yes, but highly entertaining? Hell Yes!! Why mess with a winning formula! Not sure whom I predict to win, but I would say Rowan & Shane - first eliminated. Good Luck, Travel Safe, and GO!
legalmagnolia Posted August 28, 2013 WOO HOO! My hometown boys Chester Pitts and Ephraim Salaam are on there! Now I can't wait for this season to start!
Tsylyst Posted September 27, 2013 This season's title sequence includes some updated graphics and even the music has been tweaked a bit. I like it. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/amazing-race-season-23-first-637550 ETA: Phil talks about the season (with some spoilers on destinations) http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/amazing-races-phil-keoghan-previews-637551
MrsGryn Posted September 30, 2013 I just love this show! I've never heard of this town in Chile, and it looked to me like a little fishing village that suddenly turned into a resort town. Those overhead shots reminded me a bit of Ensenada, Mexico. The hang gliding looked awesome! Much better than bungee jumping or jumping out of a plane. Was sorry to see the father-daughter team go, as they seemed nice.
Tsylyst Posted September 30, 2013 I liked the new graphics/music in the intro credits and closing credits. Not so much the new graphics for the RoadBlock/PitStop/Etc. bugs.
nixiechick Posted September 30, 2013 There seemed to be a lot of mugging for the cameras this time around. Not liking that.
forever1267 Posted September 30, 2013 "Team Obnoxious" might be too general a term for this group.
artamnesia Posted September 30, 2013 (edited) First lesson of the season (learned the hard way by a couple of teams): Read the freakin' clues! Is it just me or is the editing so fast this season that it is almost impossible to watch? Like cutting to a new scene every half second or so. I seriously felt that I was about to puke a few times while watching the show last night. It seemed to be at about a Diners, Drive-ins and Dives level. makani Posted October 3, 2013 Feels soooo formulaic now. It's like they get certain personalities and then find the people who fit those. I'm delighted Father Knows Best was eliminated....it's so uncomfortable to watch someone berate his child, like the Chinese dad a few back. I'm going to scream if the ER doc doesn't know how to swim, however.
elizabethann Posted October 7, 2013 And this is why I hate football. If I want to watch this damn show I must DVR every other damn Sunday show I like. Damn CBS for not airing TAR via On Demand and damn 60 Minutes for not shaving a few minutes so that the damn race can start when the guide says it will. But mostly it's football's fault for running over. Is this show even worth it anymore?
