Survivor - Past Seasons

I hate when they bring back ousted players, even in the same season.. remember the "outcasts".. but I have to admit that I love Steph to death, and really don't think she lived up to her potential being stuck on that bad tribe. I'm not saying I wouldn't vote her out in a heartbeat if she were on my tribe, but as a viewer since day 1, I'm glad to get to root for Stephanie again.

You love them Highwaygirl. Both are strong, hard working players that got stuck on the tribe last season that lost EVERY immunity challenge. Plus their not munipulating, selfentitled, lying pieces of sh*t, Interesting. And Stephanie is kick ass!!!

Okay, HWG. The way I see it, Steph IS the strongest woman to ever play the game. She's strong physically, mentally, and emotionally. She was the last person left in her tribe. When it was time to merge, she was the only one left to join the other tribe. She also seems like a nice person and is very friendly.

However, she made some dumb strategic moves last season after the merge and she trusted Tom to keep a promise he made on the first or second day of the game which ultimately got her voted out.

Bobby Jon is cute and he IS the hardest worker to ever play the game. He never stopped working around camp. He was like an oxe. And he's so earnest! He's honest and wears his heart on his sleeve. He called Tom "a man among men," which was a little over the top and he said Steph "can do anything a man can do," which to him is a huge compliment.

He's also a little gross (blowing snot rockets, not washing, and other gross guy type stuff like that). He's not the sharpest tool in the shed and is probably a much better follower than leader. According to the Survivor website, he enjoys hunting, fishing, reading the bible, etc.

I like both of them, but I like Steph better.

You should check out last season if you can. One woman, Katie, is eerily like Haggie, which is entertaining. And there was some serious emotional manipulation going on at the end that was very interesting.

Haunted Rain really nailed it in his/her? descriptions of Steph and Bobby Jon! Also, despite the fact that the tribes were, um, lopsided, it was a very enjoyable season with interesting characters.

I have mixed feelings about mixing in past players, but Steph and Bobby Jon are not bad choices. I really thought Steph in particular was great.

I didn't watch Survivor last season, so I need someone to tell me what I think about Bobby Jon and Stephanie.

OMG!!! Highwaygirl just made me clutch my pearls......

Bobby John and Steph were on the sucky tribe last season. The one that NEVER won immunity and whittled themselves down to just the 2 of them. They managed to keep the camp together and do all the work even before the other losers in their camp left. He was hunting and gathering his ass off, and Steph was right there beside him taking names, but neither of them were able to kick the challenges in the ass. I loved it when they had to paddle that huge boat. Now, to be fair, Steph seemed to get spotlit earlier than Bobby John....He did the bulk of the "heavy/man" work but was pretty quiet and stayed in the background. Even when down to just the two of them I didnt see much conversation coming from him. I do think they both encouraged each other, didnt see the blame game going on after every loss, which was impressive. She was determinded to win the next one, and he was stoic, accepting the loss.

Steph and Bobby John faced each other in a challenge to light fire. She won and got to stay and merge. But not until she spent the night alone in her camp of one, wondering how in the world she was gonna survive not a pity party, but a tribe of one....She wasnt overly bittercakes about losing, but lamented that the rest of her team couldnt pull it together enough to win a simple immunity challenge.

She was eventually voted off, as she was seen as an uber strong player (yeah, she was). I always thought of her as the female Tom - the good firefighter. She is funny and witty, supports others, works hard and should do very well as long as she trys to stay in the background and doesnt dominate the camp.

She is (to me) the Survivor Janey.

Did anyone think it was really weird that ALL the men (except farmer boy) on one tribe got freakishly sick and none on the other tribe did? I had to pause my TIVO and discuss it with my partner- maybe one tribe brushed past some poisonous thing that doesn't affect women? Who knows, but it's very strange...

Bobby Jon really threw me for a loop, and the old guy that ripped his bicep- don't you think they should have brought in a doctor when it looked like Bobby Jon was dying?

It was weird that the guys got sick and only from the one tribe. They talked about it on Survivor Live for half the show... noone knows.. Jenna said maybe they could get a doctor on an episode of SL.

Wow, everyone before me in this post summed us Stephenie and Bobby Jon pretty good! Bobby Jon looks different this time though, the only thing I can really tell for sure is he has his eyebrows plucked or waxed or something. On another site they say he has new teeth and possibly some plastic surgery though I doubt the surgery part.

I couldn't believe they wouldn't help those people with the leg cramps and stuff. Geez Bobby Jon couldn't hardly walk even! I kept thinking they need to eat the bananas cause they are supposed to help with cramps... Maybe giving them some kind of supplement just for that purpose. Also, most or all of the women on that team looked to be in really good shape, and have probably been working out for months in preparation...maybe they also carried less, and drank more water too. Blake didnt look like he was too buff, Jim would have a disadvantage just because of his age, and Judd looked to be in not the best shape.

So maybe it's just the luck of the draw, though it is odd the four of them got so sick and no one else on their team or the other team did. They say in the preview for the next Survivor how they are having a tough time because they had no water for four days! That is just wrong, starve them to death if you have to but doesn't your body start to shut down after just a few days without water??

I think if a doctor has to step in then that person will have to leave the game. They're always making homeade remedies.

I love Steph too much. I almost cried when I saw her win her first immunity challange ever.. and I swear, I never cry at stuff on tv.

I think the ex-pro football player is going to get called out and booted for lying.. just an early prediction.

About the football player dude being outed:

I heard a radio interview with the first bootee, *checks cbs.com to remember his name* Jim, and he said something along the lines of the fact that Danni is a sportswriter and that she would probably recognize him once the tribes merged -- IF she made it to the merge. I don't know if the old man was spilling the beans or if it was just speculation on his part.

My theory on why one teams males got real sick and the others didnt is this

1) I notice just on the brief scenes we got that Booby Jon's team seemed to be going through rough foliage more. It seemed like the other team found that archeologist access road early on. Anyone that has hicked through dense woods (let alone jungle) knows it takes A LOT out of you. Constatly having branches whip into your face, tripping over roots...etc.

2) It also seemed the men on that team did the testosterone/gentelman thing and carried more weight (food/water). It wasnt until the next day that the ladies (who I will add KICKED ASS) took a good part of the load off the guys.

but then again it was hard to tell becuase out of 24 hours of the hike we saw what...maybe 10 edited min??

Me thinks the men on that team will know realize how STRONG those ladies are and treat them as equals. I especially LOVE the Nurse.... she may be older, but if not for her all the men would have been SCREWED.

It's not surprising the women were still walking around while the men were retching and passing out like little boys coming down from a Halloween candy high. Women are just better at long-haul endurance than men. It's why it's harder for us to lose weight, we're programmed to store up for leaner times. Survival of the species and all. Dammit.

Love the nurse (Margaret?). Still love Stephanie and Bobby Jon is the prettiest thing to come down the pike since Kayser. Don't know enough about the others so far to comment, but it's shaping up to be a fascinating location.
