MrsGryn Posted December 12, 2011 As soon as Marcus miffed the third landing, I mentally checked out. I didn't dislike Cindy & Ernie or Jeremy & Sandy but I wasn't rooting for them, either. Now, next season will involve active rooting AGAINST Brenchel.
gforce Posted December 12, 2011 I felt a bit bad for Jeremy and Sandy with their taxi driver taking them to the OTHER "Dump". Although, since it's specifically called that, I can see the confusion. If it hadn't been for that, they probably would have won. I was okay with Ernie and Cindy winning - they certainly seemed to race well, even if Cindy was by times pretty annoying. I was completely exhausted too with the endless football analogies. Apparently however, there is nothing about football that prepares you for landing a large aircraft. tlh9 Posted December 12, 2011 I thought the same thing, Tooletta! I checked in last night, expecting *some* discussion... and zip! I enjoyed most of this season, too ~ I really did. But was *extremely* disappointed when it became obvious that Amani & Marcus weren't going to win, or even have half a chance. *I* didn't post, because I usually like to see what everyone else has to say first, unless there's something that really struck a chord with me. Doesn't *anyone* have any thoughts?
michal Posted December 12, 2011 I found the finale a blessing. I didn't like my snowboarding guys getting eliminated just because their taxi driver wasn't friends with the other taxi drivers. Of course it could have been editing, but they really did deserve to be in the final 3. Ernie & Cindy were probably my last choice to win, but I found myself not really rooting for any of them to win. F3 was blah for me. HOW do some of these teams get chosen anyways? I had to look up names even at F3 because I really didn't know any of their names - they are that unmemorable. I need some teams with some spunk! Go team Brenchel! Not for the win, but for the meltdowns!
copssister Posted December 13, 2011 Let's hope their new charity can afford to buy Ernie a ticket out of the closet. I half-expected him to rip off his racing clothes to expose a gold lame thong to wear across the finish line. He seems nice enough - I hope he finds his bliss in life - I just don't believe that bliss is with Cindy.
Lorelai28 Posted December 13, 2011 I hated the fact that the guys automatically got to pilot the simulators. I think that Amani would have been very good at it, since she deals with 4 kids every day. I kept yelling at her through the screen to tell Marcus to trade places. If she had (or if he'd had it within him to suggest it himself), things might have ended differently. ff174 Posted December 13, 2011 I think the reason that I continue to love this show is because, for me, it's more about the race itself, than the racers. In addition to learning a little about other countries, I marvel over how well this show is produced. Have you ever seen a cameraman or soundman? I liked Cindy. I mean maybe, on occasions, she was mildly annoying. But there have been a rash of shrieking harpies on this show, and, in my opinion, her behavior didn't come anywhere near any of those. I also took notice of what she said after winning. She mentioned something about having to live up to very high expectations from her parents. If I'm not mistaken, in their eyes, she was supposed to be "perfect." If I read into the situation, her parents are probably very traditional, and I imagine they weren't crazy about the fact that she will be marrying Ernie. She also had some really sweet moments. Ernie? Dull. I'll let those with better gaydars than mine decide on that. Marcus and Amani were terrific, football cliches aside. All you have to know about her is how she kept her cool when Marcus couldn't land that damned plane, and how supportive she was after. Dating couple were okay. They had their spats, but I've seen a hell of a lot worse. I guess my biggest problem with them is that they were too serious. I am sure, overall, they loved the experience. However, they sure didn't show it. I am guessing that I will end up liking them a hell of a lot more than a particular couple on the next TAR, who shall remain nameless. spartini Posted December 13, 2011 I know I'll likely end up regretting typing this, but I'm rather looking forward to Team Crotch Rot after the so-so season that's just ended. I'm hoping that there won't be time to televise the "corrective" moments they're sure to have and I can't wait for the first complaint that a detour was designed for the short/small footed people. tooletta Posted December 14, 2011 (edited) ... a particular couple on the next TAR, who shall remain nameless. APCWSRN may become the new HWSNBN. Nice, ff. I was okay with Sprinkles and her gay fiance' winning. They raced well enough, I guess. I forget who won second place. Would have loved to see the Pollards win. I don't care how many football references he made~ those two are an awesome couple. Their kids are lucky to have them as parents.
