chrysana Posted April 15, 2011 I am suprised by the cult-like following Rob has. I have always kinda liked Rob, not so much last night, but overall I do enjoy his scheming. He is controlling this game right now, ensuring there is no way for Ralph, Julie, or, Steve to break them up. I can understand why they would feel defeated. Things will change, they usually do, but right now Rob is pulling the strings. I understand Steve eating the burgers. He knew, or felt, he wasn't going to win the challenge. He knew one of the four would be voted out and he took a chance that it wouldn't be him.
angelmi Posted April 15, 2011 GREAT JOB with the ZCAPS Z! Especially loved America's greatest federal agent Taliban terrorist fighting latrine trench diggernow we know why the war is so bad! And I will never be able to look at the sweater man without seeing a tow truck!! HA! I also loved that Phillip has out done the Dragon slayer Coach! I can not wait to see David vs Mike vs Matt next week.
PhilG Posted April 15, 2011 Here's some fat to chew on--suppose in the first episode, Rob and Russell had drawn the opposite tribes. How do you think the season would have been different?
MrsGryn Posted April 15, 2011 Good question. I would have destroyed my TV if I had had to see much more of Russell on it, so overall it's a good thing his tribe kicked him to the curb, as opposed to the slack-jawed yokels who follow Rob around like sick puppies in love. Shannon Posted April 15, 2011 I don't know, Russell had his two slack-jawed groupies hanging on him too, I really think they purposely cast silly girls who would suck up to Rob & Russell, and then a few normal women. There's no way so many girls on this show, this season, are such brainless robots. If I was Rob and won this season, I'd think I'd feel like a hunter in a barrel, not a chance in hell of missing your shot...this time.
AVorlon Posted April 21, 2011 Yeah, Rob would have to make some really major blunders at this point to snatch defeat out of the hands of victory. His mminions won’t vote him out, he has an immunity idol in his pocket, and the jury is going to think he played the best game. Having said that, I hope both he and Russell retire into oblivion, and we are done with them for good.
Shannon Posted April 21, 2011 My only hope for any fun in this season, is that the other tribe, after being picked off one by one by the Robbots, is that they have enough say in the jury to not hand Rob the money. Or that Matthew stops moaning prayers and comes back and knocks Rob out in the last inning.
pocketrebellion Posted April 21, 2011 I wouldn't mind Matt coming in and causing a stir, but I don't think I'd be able to stand to see him win. Something tells me if he comes back after all this and then wins we'll have to spend the entire finale/reunion listening to him attribute it all to God and his will. zgeist_returns Posted April 21, 2011 Among all the other stuff going on with the show last night, I found the Matt part of the show bothering. I'm probably guilty of attempting to predict the results by interpreting the edit but I'm convinced that Matt is going to be in the final three. Otherwise he wouldn't be getting so much show time. If he does make final three, there is something in me that says it isn't right for someone to get eliminated in the traditional way not once but twice making it to the final three. ff174 Posted April 21, 2011 I think that they are focusing on Matt's story line because, other than Phillip's brand of crazy, what else do they have? The former Onomatopoeia tribe is picking off the other tribe members one by one. In fact, the editor's didn't even attempt to show any faux drama to make us believe that there was the possibility of voting out one of Rob's tribe. I suspect that there won't be anything of interest (once again, other than Phillip's crazy train) until all remaining members of Zapatera are gone. Truth be told, any Zapaterans won't have any cards to play until they get near the end. At that point they can play the If-Rob-gets-to-the-end-he'll-win-any-vote card. Or that Matthew stops moaning prayers and comes back and knocks Rob out in the last inning. I don't think they'd be "handing" Rob the money. He is playing, and dominating, the game. Sure, he's a dictator with his tribe, but they are allowing it to happen. I think the other tribe will see it as a game. If they had come into the merge with more players Rob's tribe would be getting picked off. I do wish he had his minions take out Philip last night, for reasons that have already been posted by many in his thread. I don't like the idea of Philip making it F2, where he'd win money, and I'm fearful that's what Rob has in mind. The fact that his minions didn't go against Rob last night shows his domination. Not his fault his tribe was a bunch of followers. I think Rob saw his tribe as a group that would be easily manipulated and would follow him, got rid of the ones who weren't drinking his kool-aid and is now riding it to the end. I think Rob would have changed his strategy if he had Russell's tribe, which wouldn't have been as easy to dictate.
Shannon Posted April 21, 2011 I think Rob would have been long gone with any other tribe, he isn't dominating, he's handed a tribe of robbots, they do anything he says, none of them are playing the game they are handing Rob the win. I know he feels great that he's going to walk away with the money this time, but as a man who played strategy, he must feel like a bump on a log this season. uaintjak Posted April 21, 2011 It's just such a snoozefest, as bad as the last Survivor if not worse. Mostly because Rob's tribe has a bunch of people who seem to have zero interest in actually playing the game. We're going to see the rest of the Loser tribe go home - and that's fine, that's a good strategy, I guess - and then Rob will dictate who out of his tribe goes home, and none of the remaining Rob's Tribe (I don't even care what their name is because that's how dull the whole thing has become for me) have any kind of shot of turning that around. The 18 year old chick runs to Rob with everything, Phillip is AllForRob, so that's a voting block of 3 right there. The best the other three can do is try to tie it up, and you know that won't happen because Rob has an immunity idol. So bang, goodbye Dreadlocks, bang, goodbye Useless Blonde, bang, goodbye Other Useless Blonde, and grats Rob, you win Survivor finally after 4 tries. And the thing is, he totally deserves to win...but with this group of Terry Schiavo wanna-be's, that's not really something to be proud of.
PhilG Posted April 22, 2011 I'm hoping that whoever is the last Zap member left starts winning a bunch of immunity challenges...if any of the Zaps manage to make the finals, game over.
zgeist_returns Posted April 22, 2011 That could happen if the final Redemption Island survivor goes straight to the final three. Or even the final four and wins the last immunity challenge. This is the thing that somewhat bothers me about Redemption Island. It may be an unfounded fear but I won't like it if that final Redemption Island person doesn't have to play with the rest down the stretch of the game.
